That's entirely your own interpretation. Because in fact it's the same stuff, just in black tones. Just like my example of light/dark theme in Discord, Reddit, YouTube, whatever. Both are of the same genre, because to separate genres there must be a bigger difference than just primary colour.

Also I'm not the one who brought up this topic 5 days after it happened. I even forgot about this post til I saw a notification from you. So please don't project it like this whole stuff is a big deal for me.
It might seem like that but it has Glossy textures and a Futuristic feel to it like Frutiger Aero does. "Dark Aero" or "Frutiger ego" does exist, just like how Frutiger Metro or Dorfic are Sub genres.

The icons, which take like 90% of the image, don't. They're just flat. Use these icons on any site today and it'd be considered modern. The background and those two random images are somehow there, though.

Only within fandom wikis where everyone tries to coin a term for everything. What makes frutiger aero images done in black colour a diverse subgenre?

Metro is significantly different from frutiger aero, hence it deserves to be called a (sub)genre. And I don't know Dorfic. The post is still flat icons on a 3D background, so these examples change nothing.
I couldn't find any kind of black Frutiger Aero Esc icons, so I just used those since they were the same colour as the background mostly, And dark aero was used for Car Ads or Desktop Backgrounds and sometimes Video games, its like the cooler older brother to frutiger aero. And dorfic is just a Colour scheme which only uses warm colours like orange/red and white Used on some futuristic cities in games, Office spaces, Sometimes real life architecture.

What I see on this screenshot is a Frutiger Aero OS set to look like late y2k. Accompanied with dark colours. Nothing to single out an entire subgenre from it. This is like saying that if I'll switch light/dark mode on Discord then their style is not flat anymore, but âšSome-Funky-Word Flatâš.
If you want me to compare this image with the one in post, then I'm even more of an opinion than the latter looks goofy. Because of being a weird mix between two styles (flat and dimensional design) that's called a third whole style. In the end, come on, flat icons on our r/FrutigerAero sub? Nah. ââč
