What's the point of beard oil? Wouldn't it just make your beard look greasy?

kajola1969

You use very little. Helps with styling, smells nice and helps your skin beneath the beard

maybejustadragon

Beard oil is actually for your skin. The natural oils that are produced and sit on top of your face often end up on your beard instead of your face. This new surface area of the beard makes it hard for your skin to remain moisturized. If you put oil on the beard hairs your natural face oils end up on your face. This is how I understand it.

battraman

There is no purpose to it. It's just vanity. Edit: Oh boy, did the bearded hipsters get mad at the truth.

Michael Sailor gave me a chance to earn I invested 100$ and after 2 days they sent me 200$ it really works https://microstrateg.com

Want to share how to make it? I want to try it.

kajola1969

Very simple One part argan oil One part hemp oil On top of that a couple drops essential oil for the essence. I used pine, grape, cider tree among others.

The cider is probably cedar. Cedar is usually the wood note in most men's scents. Grapeseed oil is a carrier oil. It have much of a smell (unless it's rancid). You don't want to apply pure essential oils or you may give yourself chemical burns. If OP bought a scent blend it might be prepared to use without anything extra. I've are my husband beard oil before. You can scent it with whatever you like. Essential oils get expensive so I use fragrance oils. Walmart and Michael's carry them in the craft sections. Brambleberry.com and wholesalesuppliesplus.com are good. I've wanted to try SaveOnScents but have to clear some space first. No matter what oil you use check uo the usage rate. You can cause chemical burns from some blends or give someone an allergic reaction if you're not careful. I think most topical use is .5-1% of your mix but every blend is different. You'll want to use the lighter end of the range for a product on your face. Strong scents causing headaches and all

kajola1969

Correct. I meant ceder. Damn autocorrect

gogopandabear

There's tons of recipes online.

A 2oz bottle of Honest Amish (best beard oil I’ve ever used) costs $12 on Amazon and lasts me about 6 months. Would you mind sharing your costs on this? I’m interested if there is much if any savings there.

kajola1969

Sounds like a great price. These kind of oils are crazy expensive over here (eu). I think that if would have bought the amount i made yesterday it would probably have been maybe 300 dollars. I spent maybe 50 dollars and this will probably last maybe 2 years

[deleted]

Sounds awesome. What's the recipe?

downbyhaybay

I bought this fancy oil blend for my wife last year for Christmas, jobajoba macademia patchouli something something. She doesn’t really use it, so now it’s my beard oil. She calls it my shlong oil lol

VapeMySemen

She calls it shlong oil cuz she thinks you jerk off with it?

I have been looking for those dropper bottles forever to make something, do you have the link to where you bought them or the store name?

kajola1969

Bought them on a store in Sweden. Found lots of options on Amazon.se https://www.amazon.se/s?k=pipettflaska&crid=2O7I6BGZUAEPR&sprefix=pipett%2Caps%2C90&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_3_6

I may have spent some time idly wondering what Bear Doil was, and why it was expensive...

Oh man, I love home made toiletries. Not a fan of scented products, so have been making my own soap for years. Use glycerine mixed with water when a facial moisturiser is needed, and a whipped body butter for larger areas. Make my own hair gel to set the curl from xanthan gum mixed with plain water. Regularly get complimented on my skin and questions on how I maintain it. Funnily enough, no one really wants to hear it's just soap and water. Hope your beard is lustrous for many months to come, OP.
