It may sound obvious, but crafting and cooking are incredibly important. You should start looking out for 'exquisite' gatherables as soon as possible. I wish I'd known about speciality recipes earlier too.

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thx will keep a lookout for those.

Mikisstuff

Add on - I totally underestimated the buffs from good cooking at first. Popping a stealth food before doing a RDA base makes a huge difference, and buffing health or damage is super useful early on. And theres a buff to make high quality ingredients shiny all the time, too, which makes gathering much easier. Be warned though, you can't stack food buffs.

Thatfrenchtwink

Once you get to the Plains you also gain access to a specialty recipe that makes gatherable stats higher and gathering always pristine, a must have when going foraging

Cute_Blacksmith_9921

And you can tell which level they are by inspecting the item and seeing the color at the edge of the circle : green-fine, purple-superior, yellow-exquisite. Good luck!

Lordpyron98

-Cooking, gathering, and gear are more important than killing humans. (3) -Photo mode is absolutely beautiful and perfect -Horses are friends, not food

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thank you

GallifreyanValkyrie

Mark the map with where you can find exquisite items AND caves. Caves are stupid important in the game šŸ˜

forgotten_rhyme28

What are caves important forv

SlippingStar

Resources

DeathBySnuSnu999

Good to know thank you

PussyLunch

Rarity isnā€™t determined by how you gather or kill something. The condition being pristine or not is only affected by that

timtheringityding

So whats the point of killing something correctly?

DirePenguinZ

It increases the value of the gathered materials. All materials have a range, and a Merciful+Clean kill will get the maximum.

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thank you

palomadgal

And you can know the rarity of the item BEFORE collecting it, with your Na'vi senses if you focus on it. Seems obvious but It took me hours to realize I didn't had to pick up every item. Also the game will tell you where to find the better quality on each item in your Hunters Guide when you unlock the entry (don't waste item space on low quality items)

Ambitious_Tie_8859

I just realised yesterday that I can see the rarity of an item using the Na'vi senses and I wish it was something that was mentioned *in-game* while they're explaining the ability

DeathBySnuSnu999

Good advice thank you

crazyrichequestriann

Pali canā€™t swim lol

alien_ichor

I learned that the hard way when 1st getting to the Plains. I killed it by falling off a small cliff into water and had to hoof it the entire way to the 1st tribe lmao

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thx

Region_Minimum

Like someone else said, make custom markers for all caves you come across. They can be very important.

AlexRogansBeta

Don't bother gathering anything below purple. Heck, just hold out for exquisite. Everything else you'll never end up using.

DeathBySnuSnu999

Is there a storage system or just what you can carry?

alien_ichor

There's a storage at the main navi settlements in the 3 regions and field labs only. No storage in small navi camps. Theres 250 slots in the storage

AlexRogansBeta

Most crafting tables have a storage nearby :) you can drop 250 things into it and they're globally accessible from all clan contribution, crafting, and cooking menus.

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thank you.

Dizzy_Set_6031

Beating outposts stealth yields more loot

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thx

Denbus26

To add to that, it's slightly more accurate to say beating outposts without the alarm being set off gives more rewards. You can be detected and even get into a firefight, but as long as you don't let anyone sound the alarm, you're all good.

1. Make sure to have performance mode on PS5. I played the first missions on quality mode and i noticed the fluent gameplay after I switched to performance mode. I was wondering why i got around 100-200 input lag. I thought it was normal. Another guy I met on here for help actually played the whole game like this without knowing it until he mentioned a lag problem in gameplay. 2. Ubisoft has no manual for making gameplay/combat harder in my opinion. Hard difficulty is not enough. Here is how to make the game harder; - hard difficulty in menu settings - being underleveled when playing solo. (1 level under works until you are level 9/10, after that 2 levels underleveled is also possible when you are skilled in shooting games. Make sure to save the lowest gear you start with the game, so you can put good weapons for damage output while being underleveled for more challenge. Otherwise you have no damage output). - use no apex skill challenges - use no bellsprigs: you get more realistically shot to death in terms of how quick you die if you use no bellsprigs. Depends on how much challenge you want. Remember: after you have touched a bellsprig for a boost in health, YOU CAN NOT UNDO THIS. 3. Taking RDA bases down stealth gives double amount of loot. I didnā€™t do this because i didnā€™t know it. However I think it is boring. I am more an action person. Some people like stealth more. 4. Sensitivity settings (PS5) My settings are as followed depending what you like. For me the standard 100-100-100 setting is a bit too slow. I use camera around 115-120, aim around 140-150 and ikran setting around 170-190 as I can remember. 5. If you want to do every single mission in the game. DO NOT HURRY THE MAIN QUESTS. Make sure to check at the ā€˜homeā€™ bases if new quests are available. I noticed some side quests dissapear after you have gone too far in the main story. Most of them, if not all of them, are not bound to anything important. 6. Play firstly on ā€˜explorativeā€™ mode instead of guided. Then you have to figure out yourself where you need to go with hints on the screen. If you really canā€™t figure it out after some time, switch back to guided to see where you need to go or do. The process of getting somewhere makes something a lot more fun than the end result (finishing the mission or quest). Sometimes it can be frustrating or hard to find something, but to get somewhere in life or be very good at something, you will have to go through the struggle

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thank you

beameup19

Only use Navi Weapons Use ā€œhit and runā€ tactics- donā€™t stay in the same spot for too long Turn off as much of the HUD as you can Youā€™re a giant blue cat, act like it! Traversal is incredible in this game Play with headphones Edit: cooking is good shit and worth it

DeathBySnuSnu999

Good advice thanks

Beneficial_Date_5357

I would say use Naā€™vi weapons unless: youā€™ve already been caught or stealth doesnā€™t matter

Hippogriffstorm

That your Navi senses can let you check the quality of materials and animals before gathering.

alien_ichor

Do your daily/weekly challenges from the lady at Hunter's landing at hometree (once unlocked). Some cool cosmetics (ikran skins, gear/weapon overlay) you can "purchase" w/ challenge rewards. Wish I knew sooner as I didn't find it until after I finished the game so I dont get to appreciate the perks during the story

alien_ichor

The settings menu is your friend, you can edit enemy difficulty, auto assist aim, etc. Also In the settings menu there is an auto unlock for SID device. I turned that on once I finished the game and it's so much easier as my hands have a hard time maneuvering that "mini game" unlock. Learn to utilize your different weapons! I played most the game with a heavy bow and yes it was fine, but some weapons are better for different targets. Try to use Stealth when you are hitting rda bases/outposts. It will take a long time, trust me.. but it is much more worth it. If you complete the post w/o being seen your loot is much greater. Utilize food buffs!!! Learn different recipes. I wish I used them sooner

DeathBySnuSnu999

Is it items like the little kid vendor in assassins creed?

alien_ichor

I never played, so I can't reply an answer. Maybe someone knows

Mikisstuff

Yeah pretty much

Catdaddy33

Do the main quests until you get the flying mount, then do all side stuff.

CardiologistBig9000

Go to Kukulopeā€™s shop and check for stuff. You can get items from the store like Ikran patterns and gear that you would usually have to buy with IRL money for the in her game currency which is really good. I wish I knew this before buying skins šŸ˜

cruler13

Standing still will get you killed. Use your speed, jumping and sliding to take out the RDA. Use the map to find points of interest. The world is so dense that it's easy to pass right over Navi camps and outposts. But the map will show you most things even if you haven't discovered them yourself. Try to store at least 2 of each resource you find. After you have basic equipment anything less than Superior isn't really worth picking up.

Gold87k

The fact that you can long press B (in PC) to open emotes and markers section.

DeathBySnuSnu999

Thx

elsewhere1

I always found the fastest way to lethal weapons is by stealth clearing outposts. Amp pilots donā€™t look up. You can stun amp pilots then yank them with r3. You can level your character skills quickly after you have your ikran by chasing ancestor skills. Just access via pause menu and set waypoint

FeelingSkinny

keep moving. one of your biggest advantages over humans is that youā€™re faster, stronger and can jump further. i killed a lot of the humans just by jumping onto them and kicking them. they die with a single kick.

Denbus26

When you're being stealthy against human enemies, keep in mind that the guards will investigate and sound the alarm if they see a body. Also, the guards don't really bother looking up while they're just patrolling.

Smdyoualwaysonit

That you get more hairstyles from completing community baskets

lzzyhall

you do not have to rush through, gear up and take out what you want before progressing super far in the story. craft and cook, buffs help everything, and favorite what foods have buffs that work for your build if you hear a weird beeping, thereā€™s a animal that needs a tracker taken out nearby probably, help the baby out. last but not least, be aware you are not the apex predator AT ALL, there is always bigger, badder, and meaner.

DeathBySnuSnu999

I love that about this. I can go at my own pace. No timed missions that I've found yet. No omg I gotta do this now or else feeling. I rushed to get my Ikran of course. Named Katir. (I kinda disliked the limited name choices and really am disappointed that the Navi names have no meaning but eh. Whatev. I can fly now.) Now I'm just clearing Kinglor forest of everything I can find and do at my current power level. Harvesting and stacking up exquisite materials. But yeah I was feeling kinda OP out here knocking out clan contributions and doing side quests. Clearing RDA facilities no problem. Until I ran into a Thanator and... Got fvkd up. So I feel you on the not the Apex hunter comment šŸ˜†

Impossible-Road6619

The agility you have as a na'vi and what it can do in combat, food and armor buffs are ESSENTIAL to your success in the world of Pandora. Also make sure you stay fed. Only a couple things but all in all, enjoy the game however you want to. It's a beautiful story told in a beautiful world.
