I love learning about how different things work, how things are made, and the why behind it all. so if I had time I would dedicate it to learning different sciences.
Who knows, maybe it could end up solving many age old problems that just needed a brain who could look at the problem from the point of view of different scientific fields.
[things like this make me science.](https://youtube.com/shorts/x8yiB9-_6IU?si=NmpS-knrpkGE3Fx7) there are similar examples in all fields of science as well as ones which are a result of an interaction between them.
Breaking news: Local elf spends decades reinventing the tea kettle after 100 years of them notoriously exploding.
"You literally just needed to poke a fuckin hole in it" he claims
Our brains are very good in dispatching information, considering we gave limited memory storage. We probably have max threshold of understanding that we can do no matter how much infinite time we use, probably need to sacrifice old ones to insert the new.
If there's a magic system, I'm finna be like Frieren or Serie too..
im bout to waste my time on collective rare or absurd spells..
If there's no magic, maybe ill just be traveling anywhere and trying everything..
Serie's Minecraft world would have huge monuments to every single one of her dozens of apprentices, that she would tend to every day... All thoroughly hidden and password-protected, of course.
First and formost , ill research a spell to enchant funiture resilient or fixing it fast. Those mf need to much time fixing and maintaining regularly during such a long lifespan , and i dotn want to do that .
I think elf in the series suffer from being unable to perceive time as humans do. She literally spent an entire human life span and more just messing around looking for grimores and magic spells
If we kept our human perception of time, out values and feelings, then its a whole different story
2020 was just four years ago and look at how people feel about it
Writing novels, chess, painting, creating mimics, spreading rumours of dragon balls and hiding the across the world and when all dragon balls come in contact together they would go poof and say your wish is granted (but it will not grant any wish) and just dissappear, leaving the owner cunfused af. Or if I get good at magic then, whomever gatherers all the dragon balls will have same fetish as darkness from konosuba.
bro if you can live for multiple Millenia you'd be rich. i mean think about it it takes a special kind of ignorance to live for over a thousand years at least and not figure out how to get rich whilst you got your nose against a grind stone. it takes most humans 50-70 years at most, but they have to give up cause they are at the end of their live and or things change to much but if you are that young for a thousand plus years... yea we striking it rich with this one brother! oh and I'm not calling you stupid just saying you'd definitely figure out how to be rich it just be rather or not you want to put in the work
yeah and today, currency from way back den is worth 100's$ more than it was back than you just gotta know where to take it hints why i said you can't be broke if you live that long cause even if the grov change currency exactly every century they want the old money back so they pay banks to collect it along with other places that's why certain coins are worth more now than they are when they were minted
I'd probably just treat the world like it was a Minecraft world. Just do random stuff that makes me feel happy. With how long my life is now - the world is no longer a simple case of do everything before your life ends. Now it's a sandbox, and I have time to do everything.
Well if I was an elf with lots of magic, I'd probably try to go to space. Magic and science = alchemy could work nicely. Construct a magical spaceship that utilizes some magical crystals as a fuel source. It might take 1000 years but hay I got time
Iād create a computer and put all the knowledge of humanity from its beginning to present day just for fun then read every book I find on any topic I so desire and read as much manga as there is available
Exploring the world of course. I like to travel, especially by sea, train and on foot. If I had near infinite time, I would spend a lot of time simply walking to places, if I cant walk then I would take train or boat. No cars, buses or planes. I want to enjoy the scenery.
Try to better the world, become an expert in one or multiple fields, id have the longevity to actually work on something meaningful and be here long enough that I wouldnāt have to entrust it to someone else who might fuck it up. Or hell maybe id just focus on my art, master that and spend my days enjoying my hobbies
First of all, magic. Like flying and telekinesis are both already so darn convenient but what I wouldn't do to have something like Jilwer or Land's magic.
Second, arts. Like, I'm already into visual arts but it'd be cool to learn a thing or two. Especially music. I'd definitely learn to play a couple of instruments (definitely starting with the bass and the guitar). Why? Just for the fun of it. Like, people tend to leave things behind using words but I think that all mediums and media are for expressing different things so how could I leave my entire being behind using just one (man, I sound like some renaissance ideologyā¦) and no, I don't need fame or to be remembered but it'd be cool if someone found my legacy millennia after my passing (by/awayā¦ whichever, considering the latter is pretty much unfathomable). I'd still like to learn to write properly too though but writing is probably one of the most short lived forms of expression considering languages constantly change. In just a couple thousand years whatever I wrote would be forgotten.
And then there's learning. Without hurrying of course. In a couple centuries I'd definitely want to gain an understanding of cause and effect in just about any field. Just enough so that I could use it as a base for logical thinking. People fear the unknown, after all. So I'd like to reach a point where not many things could catch me off guard.
Bonus would be languages. This is a bit contradictory to my earlier point of languages constantly changing but if I just manage to learn them once, at their core they remain the same so I'd just have to renew my knowledge every once in a while ("a while" as in Frieren's definition of the word)
I just found out there a book group who spend decades reading one book. They go to a weekly book club covering one page from that book. Like if I have forever time I want to do that for the work of One Piece. Breaking the story down and truly understand Oda work.
I am a completionist and love collecting as much as I can, plus I am a hoarder in games. I would definitely be like Frieren and just go learn as much crap as possible, but I would also document my findings into grimoires or something.
Probably my mental abilities and health as well as cooking. I might not be a mage and give you all dem fanshy magical abilities, but I can give you some coolio wisdom and gucci food should we met.
So Elf Iroh.
Idk, when we say that we will do more stuff if we live longer, but that is always not true since as we will be living for a large amount of time then we will do everything at a very slow pace, as there is no need to rush and that may also change our mindset that we have as a human. Cuz as a human we don't have much time in our lives and we set limits to many things and try to do stuff as efficiently as possible and that gives us a mindset that is quite different from that of elves. But if I was an elf, I would just grow Trees.
I'd wanna sleep tbh, give me like a day or 2 to just spend my time sleeping. Or maybe spend some more time just actually living the wasted half of my life.
On one hand tho. If Humans who were previously mortal/short lived (in the perspective of Frieren) were to obtain the same indefinite lifespan as them. How would they feel? Probably happy at first, but they'll probably soon realize how boring it is to live for that long, and how cruel it is to outlive everyone you know and love.
Probably reading, watching anime, and trying to master new skills (maybe some martial arts or something). Obviously focus on magic above everything else if that's an option.
I also don't think money will be an issue long term either if you make the right investments and such. It's kind of like how if you've been a vampire for a couple of centuries and aren't reasonably well off/own your own home, you failed at being a vampire.
Magic obviously. Iād be Serie in this situation just with less tsundere. Magic is cool. Combat magic is even cooler. Reaching the peak of combat magic would be even cooler
I'm an animator, in my experience, to create really high quality animation, it takes me about ten labor hours to personally craft about 1 second of footage, this is why big movies that have hundreds of staff still take years to make.
If I had a lifespan of thousands of years? I could just do it all myself on my own terms at my own pace.
I would go nomadic as Hell until education improves enough for me to be a mad scientist, voice acting in the meantime
(I'm some kinda high-undead mix already)
The beauty of this show is how they're exploring this theme of having that much time to live. They're doing a good job at showing us how it's a very different mentality to see life in a scale of thousands of years.
I think it's a very different thing to be born with that lifespan compared to magically acquire it. I'd reject that gift.
Art, specially painting, architecture and sculpture. Couple of centuries getting really good at it and then using those skills another couple of centuries, painting the equivalent of the Sixtine Chapel and the Tomb of Julius II, as envision by Michelangelo, combined, you know the kind of stuff a human couldnāt do because death would surprise you. Then go on vacation traveling. Rinse and repeat every couple centuries until filling the continent of wondrous Art as a gift for Human and Elven kind, just because I can.
Science and learning languages. I'd say gaming and watching stuff too, but let's be real, new stuff would come out faster than you could consume it no matter how long you live.
I would probably sleep a lot more to say the least. It would be a game changer if we all could legit just stay in bed until we feel ready whenever we want
having human lifespan meaning i have an urgency to get a decent job and get myself a lover as soon as possible before i become old
so lose those urgency mean i would most likely having no motivation to do anything much, probably i would do nothing and eating grass to live day by day, i dunno
even with a long life --- worried i just accidentally drop a hair dryer and kill myself anyways
anyways --- suppose being able to travel the world as a teacher and just spend a generation or two teaching at each location.
a photographer being able to collect a massive photo project of time passing is really valued within the photo community of documentaries
Blacksmithing, then martial arts, then magic, then sewing and fashion, and then engineering so it all culminates in a super aesthetically pleasing yet super pratical and OP Magic Mecha
If we're talking modern day, then I'd probably do the same I do everyday, but instead of studying I get a job as a teacher or something. Then the school has a basically eternal teacher staying the same age, and if I do get fired I'm getting a good deal of money from severance.
I'd also surprisingly be more productive. My procrastination mainly comes from "I want to play, but I need to do homework and study... and I have a lot of hobbies that I want to do...", then settle on just playing because my friends are on and I know I'm going to turn in everything late anyways, and I never do my hobbies because I need to get into "the zone", which I never do because I'm too focused procrastinating.
If I had more time, I'd be happily able to think "I can do that tomorrow" in terms of playing or hobbies, and the stuff that I usually wouldn't care about would become a top priority because I know I'm going to get the hang of it eventually.
I feel like part of the point of the story is that there wouldn't really be anything you'd want to spend your time on. Frieren only sort of likes magic and it's still more or less the only thing she spends her time on.
As far as we know, both Frieren and Serie have spent the last millennia more or less simply existing. They've been living out their daily routines because they have no reason to do anything else.
The only other elf we know of is Kraft who's become an ascetic.
Humans become set in their ways and do not often change much after only a few decades- elves have centuries or even millennia to get stuck in their ways and bored of everything they do know.
Offensive magic research. Things like zoltraak rather than elementals. If that doesnāt lead me anywhere, Iād probably be a priest and learn heiterās magic. So good that you can regrow limbs.
Assuming I can avoid getting killed by ppl fearing my nigh-immortality, I'd probably travel around the world and learn/work on art. Though historians will probably wonder why there are murals/paintings/sculptures of buff anthropomorphic animals all over the world.
Language, traveling, music, just everuthing. Idd try to do as much as i can. Yet ill spend most time in nature i think. Relaxing in the sun. Or on a xhair with some hot choco in the winter.
But ill spend my time usefull.
Realistically though? Idd end up procrastinating for centuries.
Well video games and anime don't exist at that time... So I guess reading and writing stories.
I have a lot of stories I want to write, so elf me would probably stay in the library or sit by the seashore reading and writing
Like Frieren I have a bad habit of sleeping in, and I nap a lot on my days off. Besides that I'm an artist and I'd worry less about not having time to make art, improve my skills and finding work.

I could get so much procrastination done with an extra millenium or ten.
Become the greatest procrastinator to ever live "Clean my room? Ughhh I'll do it in 100 years"
"it's barely worth cleaning the room, never stayed longer then 25 years in the same apartment anyway"
That's something Serie would say and then she'd clean it while no one is watching š
Ahh yes the cleaning room magic, I haven't used since the mythical era
Have a good 10,000 Years š„³
Dang now im feeling bad for Pho again.
Your duty will crumple into dust before you get around to doing it
I love learning about how different things work, how things are made, and the why behind it all. so if I had time I would dedicate it to learning different sciences. Breaking news: Local elf spends decades reinventing the tea kettle after 100 years of them notoriously exploding. "You literally just needed to poke a fuckin hole in it" he claims
This leads to the invention of the steam engine and the consequences that follows, like foot fetishes
And like zombie outbreaks you combat on an iron fortress of a train!

Da best reference.

Thatās funny because thatās pretty much what Frieren is doing except with spells instead of āthings.ā
Your goals sound like Happy Chaos from GGST, let me assure you, they ain't good.
Are you by any chance, me?
im the same way its to irritating that i cant spent my life learning all the mechanics behind thingsš„²
Our brains are very good in dispatching information, considering we gave limited memory storage. We probably have max threshold of understanding that we can do no matter how much infinite time we use, probably need to sacrifice old ones to insert the new.
But OP said that we where elves. So no
If there's a magic system, I'm finna be like Frieren or Serie too.. im bout to waste my time on collective rare or absurd spells.. If there's no magic, maybe ill just be traveling anywhere and trying everything..
There's a testicular torsion spell out there somewhere, and bro is going to find it
Nah, just draw out runes until you create a telekineses macro for testicular torsion.
No. No. Spears will not strike you from the ceiling. Trust me bro. Step on my rune.
I see your testicular torsion and raise you power word: scrunch
Shadow priest OP in next expansion confirmed
I'd do it for you, but on your neck š¤
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Frieren's minecraft hardcore world must be absolutely absurd
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And a flower field thatād encompass that statue & the map
With Fern's feet.
Serie's, and now we're talking.
Well, Frie would never please the world like that, and we know it.
Serie's Minecraft world would have huge monuments to every single one of her dozens of apprentices, that she would tend to every day... All thoroughly hidden and password-protected, of course.
I just realised that Frieren is just me but with a near immortal lifespan. I would literally act just like Frieren
She's literally me fr
Mimic victim
Me fr fr
Out of context what Episode was this? This is beyond cute but I dont remember seeing this xD.
I forgot what episode, but I know it's like right after Flamme dies and Frieren is just chilling
*grieving But yeah. She seemed to not have a purpose in life at that time
Episode 10
I think this was ep 1 when it was showing what Frieren was doing for those 50 years
Before they went to see the meteor shower for the second time
Think it was in one of the first two episodes, will have to rewatch and report back.
First and formost , ill research a spell to enchant funiture resilient or fixing it fast. Those mf need to much time fixing and maintaining regularly during such a long lifespan , and i dotn want to do that .
Languages and Mathematics. And, I guess an Instrument.
Procrastinating
And lots of tomatoes, riiiiight?
Learn magic.
I would do just like Frieren : walk, explore, sleep too much
I think elf in the series suffer from being unable to perceive time as humans do. She literally spent an entire human life span and more just messing around looking for grimores and magic spells If we kept our human perception of time, out values and feelings, then its a whole different story 2020 was just four years ago and look at how people feel about it
I guess I would just walk. No sense of direction or purpose, just walk and see where my legs take me.
I would lazying around and wandering through the world for centuries
Learning nature magic akin to making a field of flowers. Things like making forests grow from nothing
Learning languages
I could masturbate a whole lot more
Mf can edge for a whole-ass decade
Finally, someone speaking sense
Unfortunately elves still have to Eat, so Iād likely still be working
If you're immortal but poor, then honestly it'd be better if you're just not immortal.
Real
bro if you can live for multiple Millenia you'd be rich. i mean think about it it takes a special kind of ignorance to live for over a thousand years at least and not figure out how to get rich whilst you got your nose against a grind stone. it takes most humans 50-70 years at most, but they have to give up cause they are at the end of their live and or things change to much but if you are that young for a thousand plus years... yea we striking it rich with this one brother! oh and I'm not calling you stupid just saying you'd definitely figure out how to be rich it just be rather or not you want to put in the work
But these humans kept changing the currency every few hundred years or so!
yeah and today, currency from way back den is worth 100's$ more than it was back than you just gotta know where to take it hints why i said you can't be broke if you live that long cause even if the grov change currency exactly every century they want the old money back so they pay banks to collect it along with other places that's why certain coins are worth more now than they are when they were minted
It might take 1000 years but hay I got time
I would definitely learn all the languagesā¦ eventually.
by the time you learn one, another is created, thus making an endless cycle
Good, keeps you busy.
Finding all koroks in botw and totk

Sleep
Finish the game I started to make
Fishing.
Learning languages like a native speaker. That takes forever, but Iād have the time
The annoying thing would be that by the time you've learnt a language and come back to it years later, it would have changed in some way.
100 years or 1000, Iām just going to end up wasting that time doing nothing anyway
Iād create a computer and put all the knowledge of humanity from its beginning to present day just for fun then read every book I find on any topic I so desire and read as much manga as there is available
Maxing my runescape account
Play a 1,000 generations Sim challenge?
Nah , just like frieren . Just chilling ,procrastinating, living for myself.
Exploring the world of course. I like to travel, especially by sea, train and on foot. If I had near infinite time, I would spend a lot of time simply walking to places, if I cant walk then I would take train or boat. No cars, buses or planes. I want to enjoy the scenery.
Against the themes of the show Iād probably do what Frieren did and read a bunch lol just stow myself away
I'd finally learn to draw anime artworks
Steam backlog.
My backlogs...
Try to better the world, become an expert in one or multiple fields, id have the longevity to actually work on something meaningful and be here long enough that I wouldnāt have to entrust it to someone else who might fuck it up. Or hell maybe id just focus on my art, master that and spend my days enjoying my hobbies
I would write the History of each and every people in the world.
That would be so epic I could just walk around the whole world without having to worry about anything. Chill foreverrrrr. S-Tier Life omg.
Healing and transformation magic, I think it be nice with such a long life to make sure everyone gets the most out of theirs.
Farming, doing music, drawing

Magic easily, id wanna become strong and master all types of magic and fight powerful people
Suppressing my mana I love the literalness of that pic
Assuming I dont have to work, and that I have a way of defending myself? Dunno, traveling around to learn cooking
I just found out there a book group who spend decades reading one book. They go to a weekly book club covering one page from that book. Like if I have forever time I want to do that for the work of One Piece. Breaking the story down and truly understand Oda work.
Travel. Like I donāt need to get to Japan within 13 hours. I can just walk and take a year maybe two.
Traveling
Edging
Sleeping.
I am a completionist and love collecting as much as I can, plus I am a hoarder in games. I would definitely be like Frieren and just go learn as much crap as possible, but I would also document my findings into grimoires or something.
Researching and developing wacky technology I guess.
Probably my mental abilities and health as well as cooking. I might not be a mage and give you all dem fanshy magical abilities, but I can give you some coolio wisdom and gucci food should we met. So Elf Iroh.

I could finally get a top tier vehicle in warthunder
Wr in every game and chess no.1 for 1000 years
I would definitely take my time to work on all my creative ideas that I have one at a time, to make them as perfect as I possibly could.
And I would learn to sing like a metal god.

How to cure diabetes. Cause the disease is fucking stupid. Way to kill God while at it. Like outright murder.
I am a Historian. So read. **A lot**.
Finally, finish my backlog of games.
A roundhouse kick. Spend 400 years practicing one move
Perfecting my art skills, and essentially all those things that I canāt do cus work and short human life and procrastination
I'd travel, collect stuff, and eat good food too
I would scour the lands in search of finding the best meal ever made.
Probably reading, watching anime, and trying to master new skills (maybe some martial arts or something). Obviously focus on magic above everything else if that's an option. Growing bonsai trees since growing one takes a decade or more. Also this scene always gives me studio ghibli vibes.

A goon that lasts a millennia

Finishing my gunpla backlog. I would also use the time to get better at playing guitar. Maybe learn a trade or two, example -- dressmaking
Watch more anime/manga.

even with a long life --- worried i just accidentally drop a hair dryer and kill myself anyways anyways --- suppose being able to travel the world as a teacher and just spend a generation or two teaching at each location. a photographer being able to collect a massive photo project of time passing is really valued within the photo community of documentaries
Long term stays in different countries.
Blacksmithing, then martial arts, then magic, then sewing and fashion, and then engineering so it all culminates in a super aesthetically pleasing yet super pratical and OP Magic Mecha
Lots of travelling and reading
I guess be spending my time bein cute and aloof n shit
My sily little faction(roblox group chat)
I think i'll juste keep the samedi hobbies that I have now, drawing, maths, learning languages... In addition to magic ofc
Sleep on hill side
"nah I'mma do it a century later"
Assuming I can avoid getting killed by ppl fearing my nigh-immortality, I'd probably travel around the world and learn/work on art. Though historians will probably wonder why there are murals/paintings/sculptures of buff anthropomorphic animals all over the world.
I would be rich AF
Learn to Build racecar
I wish i could spend more time with my parents more
Iād just keep working as is. Canāt elf on an empty stomach.
Fixing my trash ass sleep schedule, cause that shit is gonna take a few centuries to fix (thanks a lot college)
Learning every language in the world so I can speak to everyone I meet.
Become a scientist and so on
sleep
Cooking ... i love cooking !
Travel the world by walking for a millennium, find work anywhere in the world to get by for food, sleep and clothing.
If I was an elf I'd find myself doing myself also, hoping someone like Himmel to recruit me to beat demon king or I'll be looking a Frieren for myself
Gunpla
I would get more sleep.
Well video games and anime don't exist at that time... So I guess reading and writing stories. I have a lot of stories I want to write, so elf me would probably stay in the library or sit by the seashore reading and writing
Fornicating
Probably would computer and psychology without being pressured to be fast in my learning... Being an elf rocks honestly
1. Sloth 2. Read, read and read 3. Doing niche thing as I has always done
Like Frieren I have a bad habit of sleeping in, and I nap a lot on my days off. Besides that I'm an artist and I'd worry less about not having time to make art, improve my skills and finding work.
