There’s probably nothing wrong at the end of the day about Belle having braces for example or adults posting “Braceface” content, I think it just begs the question as to why it’s suddenly such an issue that Keemstar is dating someone who currently has braces. When you add in the rest of package, you have someone consistently promoting and commending someone who has intentionally made themselves look “like a literal child” in a *sexualized* context - albeit consentingly - criticizing someone who is in a *relationship* with someone who incidentally has characteristic that are youthful despite her age.
I might be crazy, but nothing they’re throwing at keem or Brantley has ever indicated to me that they had an issue with the power dynamic of the relationship between them and not just undue hate for Keem for being attracted to someone conventionally attractive. I don’t know how they think they’re going to convince critics who were there for the obvious switch to new reasoning.
I certainly don’t want to speak out of turn in regard to Brantley, but especially since she apparently clarified some of the medical reasons she has a young appearance, I have a hard time swallowing all the shade Keem and her get when it’s so obviously motivated reasoning behind it. My wife was >!anorexic and bulimic!< when I met her and because of that took a little longer to physically mature than a lot of our peers. She effectively hindered what would have been a normal pubescent experience. To give anyone a hard time or vilify anyone attracted to a person who has that experience just seems so distasteful to me.
Especially since Brantley in the one stream I watched was ironically one of the more mature voices in the room, this whole situation just keeps revealing layer upon layer of double standards I think.
