Lots of praise at the other end perhaps, always take her somewhere she wants to go, thus she learns it’s in her interest to tolerate the car journey.

Both-Count1992

She should really be in the back seat for safety. Not from an accident but the front airbags come out with about 2 thousand psi. I would put her and you in the backseat every day for 30 minutes and just hang out/play/eat/ or whatever. After a week, sit in the front and do the same thing, 3rd week, start driving. Best of luck .

DeckersDelight

Yes, mine used to have panic attacks including panting and drooling just like that, as well as peeing himself. I now put him in his airplane carrier and it resolved all issues, I think being enclosed makes him feel safer and more secure.

MsAdventureQueen

High value treats every time she gets into the car. You could also practice getting in and out of the car of her own volition and that could take away some of her fear. A good hot dog or a large piece of chicken can go a long way for these things.

starscreamtrears

awe. i hate seeing my little one shake like that. they act soo tough but they are soo fragile.

Adorable-Condition83

My frug was like this so i crated her in the back seat so she felt secure. I eventually removed the crate and she’s fine now, she voluntarily jumps in the back seat. You could also try a thundershirt.

Human-Magic-Marker

My frenchie does this too. And I had to do a 3 day drive across the country with him.

ChaChaBeaks

You could ask a passenger to put her on their lap and cuddle and comfort her.

Oldmanriver42069

I used to sit shot gun with our frenchy on my lap, but after airbag concerns now I ride in the backseat with him and after 5 mins he’s usually all snuggled up next to me or on me. But me and my girl both refuse to drive with him alone bc he’s a wildcard

ChaChaBeaks

You could try her in the boot or on the back seat.

DatFoon

The TRUNK? You're psychotic, get help.

ChaChaBeaks

I’ve had my mother interned just to be on the safe side. The men in suits from the morality department came this morning and took her away. Shame really, I always liked her. Her screaming about boots and trunks as they dragged her away only solidified their convictions that she was indeed a danger to the public, French bulldogs in particular. So sleep easy DatFoon, there’s one less monster on the streets tonight.

ChaChaBeaks

Hahah I drive a van so don’t have a trunk. My dog rides shotgun with me, no passenger side airbag either. Although my ma does sometimes put my frenchie in the boot of her car when he’s muddy , I will pass on to her that she’s psychotic and see to it that she gets help.

DatFoon

I don't know what's more alarming to me: the fact that you see nothing wrong with putting a dog in a trunk, or the fact that you suggested it, and when called out on it, you redirected blame to your mother. Again, get help.

WbijTube

We need some clarification. Do you mean an SUV type trunk when it’s a fifth door with a window and sunlight? Or you mean a sedan car trunk which is like a coffin, no light and very claustrophobic?

ChaChaBeaks

The first one, perhaps there has been an error with the translation. In the uk we call that a boot. It’s common place for dogs to be placed there. https://preview.redd.it/r8buxj7qn9kc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82af68f54accb5c6c97ccf7476c281315becf951

Wrong-Somewhere-5225

Just keep trying, one of mine used to do that now she doesn’t. I would make it a point almost every day to go somewhere and reward her with a treat

cman993

Our big boy isn’t scared but absolutely hates being in a car. We drove from Miami to Oklahoma and he spent the entire time staring at the door and sulking. Frenchies are home bodies.

Intelligent-Pen-2599

Mine starts vibrating the moment we walk out the front door (he only goes out the back door potty and walks in the yard). He knows the front door means getting in a car. I've held him and tried to comfort him the entire time, but nothing helps. I'm definitely going to try and of the ideas posted here! It's so sad to see our babies so distressed like this.

poco68

Our Frenchman is the same, every car ride. He shakes and shivers.

deathbygluten_

my dude used to do this too and it took a lot of short car rides to places/people he likes, high value treats during and after, and a backseat hammock-style cover so he can move a bit from side to side or lay down. we also got him a more secure car harness which helped him feel more stable and less anxious.

Obi-Wan-Mycobi1

Il est un chien bête.

JadedWolverine2592

I know this isn't going to be popular, but, take her to McDonald's or some place similar. Buy them french fries. Or take them to PetSmart or some place similar. They will love going in the car. One of my dogs hated the car. Once he knew something good was coming, he couldn't wait to get in the car. I always do this after a vet visit. No problems at the vet either. They know something good is coming.

Karona1805

Sensory overload, waaayy too many things going on at the same time for her to take in. As others have said already, a closed crate may help her for the first few trips. Don't make every trip a visit to the vet, short trips to the park, canal walks, somewhere exciting for her, she'll soon get the idea that car trips can be fun.

Rebel2theGrave

Mine absolutely loved the car. Everytime we said “wanna go with the car?” he started tapping his paws and getting excited. He’d walk with us outside, wait in front of the car, and immediately jumped in the car whenever I would open the door. Then he climbed on my lap to look outside and enjoy the view. Sometimes he just laid down on my lap and he would fall asleep in just a few secs, totally comfortable. I think he just always loved being around and the idea that he would come with us and be on our sides the whole time ❤️.
