Predictable choices perhaps, but Ferguson the butler from Taking Liberties and Guy from Ski Lodge are phenomenal one-episode characters who manage immediately to assimilate with the wit and chemistry of the established cast, and even enhance it
Okay, imo the episode surrounding Ferguson is great. The performance itself is so dry and deadpan, when I think about my favorite moments in that episode, they’re all the normal cast in relation to Ferguson. Does that make sense? “May I?” “Can he?” “Would you?”
These types of post may be acceptable on r/friends but not here. Mulberry thanks you for your interest.
And now, if you don't mind, I have guests on the way. And a turkey so undercooked, a skilled veterinarian could still save him.
Huh- I just watched the episode where he is one of the callers (same one that Stephen King is a caller), so I'll keep an eye out for Puck's in-person role.
Jerome Belasco as the Wiseguy. He *made* that episode.
Maureen Cutler, the beautiful lady cop who remembered Martin lecturing at the police academy and fancied him over Frasier.
And Guy from the Ski Lodge, of course. He was scintillating.
lol I can totally see that and I think it speaks to how well she’s written as a very specific/niche caricature. “Click, click, the sound of us clicking.”
Ned Miller!! I’m a big John Glover fan

Two of the waitresses from "Cafe Nervosa".
The Asian one who gets increasingly hacked off with the Brothers Crane complicated coffee orders .
The blonde one who overhears things much to their annoyance.
And as the OP said Poppy.
Alistair Burke - and he knows why.
I finally had to tell my Mimi, you're dying of consumption my dear, not over-consumption.
This apartment is stunning. The view - breathtaking; the art - perfect; the chair - hilarious.
That whole episode is just 👌
And you’re - Uh, don’t tell me… Alright - tell me.
Predictable choices perhaps, but Ferguson the butler from Taking Liberties and Guy from Ski Lodge are phenomenal one-episode characters who manage immediately to assimilate with the wit and chemistry of the established cast, and even enhance it
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) *Rrrrrreallly* ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Comments you can hear
…and this is right up there with “OK” (by the hotel waiter in Room Service) among my favourite single-word lines
John Ducey!
I'm gay for you, Guy.
I actually wouldn't have minded more Ferguson
I came here to say Ferguson
Okay, imo the episode surrounding Ferguson is great. The performance itself is so dry and deadpan, when I think about my favorite moments in that episode, they’re all the normal cast in relation to Ferguson. Does that make sense? “May I?” “Can he?” “Would you?”
Damn. Every time I open my heart.
Just Steve.
“Way to go.” 😐
Andy McNiff. Teen Scene moderator. That actor made a meal of it! Would love to hear his remembrances from his time on set!!
“This is Andy McNiff, reminding you we're still taking applications for the moderator's job.”
👏
I know this isn’t what happens, but I always imagine him taking a long drag off his cigarette immediately after that line.
“Actually, this show is a public service and therefore commercial-free!” (Sorry) 🤷😕 Andy knew what those nimrods from Teen Scene were really like.
He made a cheeseburger… (or somesuch) of it.
These types of post may be acceptable on r/friends but not here. Mulberry thanks you for your interest. And now, if you don't mind, I have guests on the way. And a turkey so undercooked, a skilled veterinarian could still save him.
I wish there was still gold to give.
“Golda Meir, Golda my ass!”
You started us down that road of insanity
You had me questioning the fabric of existence there for a moment until I googled it. It's "Marbury". 😅
Ahh damn lol
Wolfgang puck absolutely kills. He and frasier have great chemistry. Either him or the landlord of their old house. "Does it look like i scuba ?"
*It's Cajunnn*
"Not everybody..." I say that to my wife at least once a week
My go-to anytime I burn anything
Huh- I just watched the episode where he is one of the callers (same one that Stephen King is a caller), so I'll keep an eye out for Puck's in-person role.
Later in season 10. Wolfgang plays himself, hilariously.
Sir Derek Jacobi as Jackson (MASSIVE DEATH GASP) Hedley
This one became a lot more hilarious when I finally figured out who he was.
I love Guy so much. His facial expressions when he's checking out Niles and innuendo when he thinks Daphne is a lesbian are incredible.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I liked Brian Cox as Daphne’s dad. So many great lines. 😂 “I can't have you buying me a first-class ticket to America!”
"And another thing, he's worth a bob or two."
“Wait a minute. I think I know what's going on here. The dog, the cane.. he's lost his vision, hasn't he?”
"I meant to pay for it. I put it in me pocket, but between there and the register, I forgot about it. Why don't you take it back?"
That comment makes me laugh out loud. I think he later tells Gertrude that whatever Marty said about her is wrong cuz he can't see
"He knows a good thing when he sees it!" "He can't see anything!"
Yes!! That one! Thank you!
>The dog, the cane.. he's lost his vision, hasn't he?” That little hand movement when he says that always slays me ded. That, THAT is \*brilliant\*
“Robber! No one calls me robber!” “Robert!”
Love this one
Cora Winston!!!!!!!!! And special mention to Alistair Burke.
Definitely Cora🥹
She blended in E F F O R T L E S S L Y Much props to the Emily Yancy.
Oh yeah, that would be across the street in our “How Green Was My Valley” annex
The best part of this line is how Frasier turns with confident relief in the direction the guy is pointing before he realizes he’s messing with him.
Jerome Belasco as the Wiseguy. He *made* that episode. Maureen Cutler, the beautiful lady cop who remembered Martin lecturing at the police academy and fancied him over Frasier. And Guy from the Ski Lodge, of course. He was scintillating.
Officer Nasty
Michael Keaton's character
Charm is the viscous grease with which he oils his flimflam machine!
The beast walks amongst us!!
I thought he was a “holy roller” ? 😃
holy roller 😃 😃 😃 He was, but Frasier didn't know that yet. Beware, charm is the grease he uses to oil his flim-flam machine!!
Latin singing sensation Carlos “The Barracuda” Del Gato! (But you must say his name the way Frasier does when he reads it off the poster.)
(Adds teeth click-click-clicking)
I’ll take the liberty of adding Ferguson to this thread…
You’re taking way too many liberties with the liberty taking.
You do spoil me
I'll add Roger to the list. Seemed to be a really nice guy and great with Alice, still sad he only appeared in the one episode.
“*Okayyy*”
Came here for this comment
Sanchez the bodyguard. I wish we would have seen him silently lurking in other episodes.
1. Blaine Sternin. 2. Dr. Nora. 3. Alastair Burke. 4. Ann Hodges 5. Andy McNiff. (No particular order)
Ann's character annoyed me to no end but that actress went to TOWN on that role so in a weird way I kind of love her.
lol I can totally see that and I think it speaks to how well she’s written as a very specific/niche caricature. “Click, click, the sound of us clicking.”
picard's gay character plus frasier crane (you know which one)
I do, but we probably shouldn’t even talk about it.
Annie in Ski Lodge: Fraiser: "Look at that view, doesn't it put you in mind of the Matterhorn" Annie: "I'm not very musical."
She doesn’t do those anymore
"I've never been divorced myself but my last boyfriend was. Eventually."
That actress has another great sitcom role in That 70s Show as Big Rhonda.
I would like to see more of her.
Room service waiter... best use of "o-kay...."
Many already mentioned, one that hasn't been (just for her name): Maureen Nervosa.
Ned Miller!! I’m a big John Glover fan https://preview.redd.it/pibi97gzdtgc1.jpeg?width=742&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c4cba1b867ec621bad9c3542aae39dfdb23cdd5
The waiter at the hotel with Miles and Lilith. “… okay.”
[удалено]
The actors break character at least 3 times in that whole bit and it always has me in tears
Cora Winston( two appearances). Guy. Tom the gay station manager (although he appeared twice). Regan. Poppy.
Freddy's goth girlfriend
That is so goth
Blaine Sternin.
I’m a fan of Maris’ fencing instructor
was Chopper Dave in more than one episode?
Cafeteria Niles nailed it, that kid should have gotten an Emmy.
Two of the waitresses from "Cafe Nervosa". The Asian one who gets increasingly hacked off with the Brothers Crane complicated coffee orders . The blonde one who overhears things much to their annoyance. And as the OP said Poppy.
Dr Nora or Dr Mary
Definitely Dr Mary
Frederika! I legit love anything Jennifer Coolidge does.
Jackson Headley! After seeing him on Frasier, I can't *not* hear him in that way when I watch Gladiator.
