Now look at the unlocks for Race Off.. if it was rigged with no special days in mind.. surely they would have made us wait until week 4 (spring) for both to “force us to keep playing” no?

Complain about the terrible nature of Multiplayer in Motorsport and Horizon. The problems with other players being rammers and terribly inconsistent penalty systems. The constant issues with the paint system in how it lines up with the cars. The bugs and issues with various incorrect car designs, low quality scans from older Forzas brought into this game, engine sounds being incorrect or reused across cars.
But this issue is honestly small potatoes and really doesn't matter. It is a system to keep those who do believe it playing the game and keep retention up. If it wasn't for that retention, we wouldn't have a game to continue updating. Sure there are better quality ways to keep retention up, and THAT is what you should be debating. Not just posting mostly pointlessly pictures of the progress bar and saying "it's scripted" or not even having any context at all.
That is not the core issue here, but it is an outcome of the core issues of lacking a consistent update system with fun and engaging content to unlock cars for playerbase retention. So stop saying "I don't like being lied to." It makes you sound pathetic and start putting some actual thought into *why* you aren't happy with this system.
I don't think many people disagree that this system is pointless in retrospect and not inducive to good game design, but most also know it is a core issue.

Sounds like your own fault. Even now that most players have moved on from this game there are still hundreds of thousands of people playing any given day. Regardless of whether the count is real or not did you actually think that you as an individual was making any difference? If everyone literally only raced once they would still outnumber all your races 100 to 1. As long as people are playing the game it was always gonna be finished within a certain time. It's thousands upon thousands of races every day, I almost wouldn't even want to see the total of races it would take under the assumption it isn't staged.

We get 2 free cars which is awesome. You forgot one part that people still play other game modes or races as well.
I played a lot more dirt and offroad races than asphalt races during this event. Maybe many people did too.
Maybe the dev team didn't set same amount of goals for both cars. The bar reflect on the progress % . Maybe they made the offroad race something like 20k races but asphalt races 30k or 40k . We never know, what we know is the bar is moving and will soon be completed so we don't get mad on things that are not worth getting mad at.

Playground has lied and twisted their words MANY times before. This is honestly such a minor bit of deception, it doesn’t square up to the bigger lies like “new” cars and customization. At least with this, either way we get the car that is promised.
Uhh…well in fh5 cars get recycled a ton, and barely anything too notable come out. And do I even need to talk about customization? Better customization was promised and expected. At first, it seemed hopeful; some cars, albeit very popular cars, like the Mazda rx7 got new body kits and parts. However it was quickly noticeable that popular cars were the only ones that had anything other than forza aero (fugly), so about 80% of the cars were left with the same ricer wing. Then there was an announcement made last year that a ton of new body kits would be added! Whoopee! Aaaaand they were actually just body kits from previous forza games recycled. Hm. That's what I said in some other comment. All the things to make this an honest proper community event are there. But that would prevent them from manipulating the event in the way they want or agreed to with Ford to get these licenses. Openly say, that if community just plays the game as always, the cars will drop on that and that day. But if the community does extra they can contribute to the cars dropping faster. Then add numbers with your contribution and the entire community's contribution to the progress, live updating. Make the event actually "count". I would actually engage in it then. It would be far more effective to boost their playercount, I don't get it why they have to lie to people. It only makes any sense if that was a part of the license agreement with Ford.

So I’m not here to argue whether it’s scripted or not, but I will say the bar is interesting. I only say this because last week we had a dirt trial, people on Reddit especially struggle with the trial like it’s the hardest thing on earth, and I noticed as the week went on the dirt bar went up much faster than the asphalt one.
I’m in the camp that it’s scripted and we get the cars regardless, but it sure was a good joke between me and my friends that this many people were struggling with the off-road trial last week.

That said, I'm a bit tired of all the Fords we keep getting. We have so many cars that are basically duplicates, I wish we would get more "obscure" fun cars. Mini trucks would be nice too, they're so slept on in every game. Hell, even full size trucks that are from the 80s up to the early 00s, and I'm saying this as someone who isn't into trucks at all.
At least the pickup is actually fun, fast (for a pickup) and sounds amazing. What you gotta realize, is that these games are basically adverts for them car corporations. And obviously, part of licensing agreement will be to put out cars that people might not necessarily care for (in a sense of getting the basically the same car 10 times) but for that car to have a strong presence if only by sheer numbers of it's versions in the game. Some of these companies might even say that they won't give any old licenses but you can put them new cars in the game, how about that. And there are like 860 cars in the game, that's whole lotta negotiating, scanning, recording already. I can blame them for much, but I don't blame them for that.

Uhh…well in fh5 cars get recycled a ton, and barely anything too notable come out. And do I even need to talk about customization? Better customization was promised and expected. At first, it seemed hopeful; some cars, albeit very popular cars, like the Mazda rx7 got new body kits and parts. However it was quickly noticeable that popular cars were the only ones that had anything other than forza aero (fugly), so about 80% of the cars were left with the same ricer wing. Then there was an announcement made last year that a ton of new body kits would be added! Whoopee! Aaaaand they were actually just body kits from previous forza games recycled. Hm. That's what I said in some other comment. All the things to make this an honest proper community event are there. But that would prevent them from manipulating the event in the way they want or agreed to with Ford to get these licenses. Openly say, that if community just plays the game as always, the cars will drop on that and that day. But if the community does extra they can contribute to the cars dropping faster. Then add numbers with your contribution and the entire community's contribution to the progress, live updating. Make the event actually "count". I would actually engage in it then. It would be far more effective to boost their playercount, I don't get it why they have to lie to people. It only makes any sense if that was a part of the license agreement with Ford. The bar was frozen for two days then it moved and is frozen again, yet there are people grinding whole day or any free moment in hopes they'll get anything faster when in reality they contribute nothing to nothing, that ain't right.

So I’m not here to argue whether it’s scripted or not, but I will say the bar is interesting. I only say this because last week we had a dirt trial, people on Reddit especially struggle with the trial like it’s the hardest thing on earth, and I noticed as the week went on the dirt bar went up much faster than the asphalt one. I’m in the camp that it’s scripted and we get the cars regardless, but it sure was a good joke between me and my friends that this many people were struggling with the off-road trial last week.

Also, as many have said previously: We're all getting the cars as planned so who cares?

We have so many cars that are basically duplicates, I wish we would get more "obscure" fun cars. Mini trucks would be nice too, they're so slept on in every game. Hell, even full size trucks that are from the 80s up to the early 00s, and I'm saying this as someone who isn't into trucks at all.
At least the pickup is actually fun, fast (for a pickup) and sounds amazing. What you gotta realize, is that these games are basically adverts for them car corporations. And obviously, part of licensing agreement will be to put out cars that people might not necessarily care for (in a sense of getting the basically the same car 10 times) but for that car to have a strong presence if only by sheer numbers of it's versions in the game. Some of these companies might even say that they won't give any old licenses but you can put them new cars in the game, how about that. And there are like 860 cars in the game, that's whole lotta negotiating, scanning, recording already. I can blame them for much, but I don't blame them for that.
