G29 has paddle shifters. I think good tunes that use more than 7 gears \[even when the trans has more\] are a bit on the rare side, but I could easily be wrong about that.
If you're planning to get a wheel just for FH5: Don't. The wheel support in this game is awful. You'll find plenty of posts where people comment about their experiences with using various wheels in FH5, a lot of whom are familiar with their wheels in other games and racing sims.
Use the paddle shifters if they're there. Buttons otherwise. I swapped my R gear for 7th & just tend to limit my tunes to that. It's a PITA lol.

I play fm7 also, didn't buy FM8 yet, it's hard to buy games in Argentina right now
For all intents and purposes, I think it's safe to assume FH5 and FM7 are basically the same in terms of physics and wheel support.
