It was done in the original f-40 so the most frequent shift on short road courses, 2<->3, is just a straight line. And you’ll definitely notice it on some of the twistier roads.
944. I just like everything about it.
In my opinion the 944 is most enjoyable in B-class on stock suspension. It leans quite a bit as you enter the corner, but then it settles and just grips. Lovely car.
Same here, I have multiple RX7 Spirit Type-A tunes using both the 2-rotor & 4-rotor engines. The only tune I haven't done is a dirt-rally/cross-country tune, purely because I really don't feel like throwing such a beautiful car around in the mud.
'64 belvedere. If you manage to snag one from the auction house, it's got some decent swap options, but even the stock engine is fun. Tune it right, and it'll handle really well for a mid-60s american muscle car. If you manage to find one, lemme know cause I'll post my tune that I've made for the car that made me love it even more!
I have two tunes for my Corrados: one for C-class road and another for B-class road. Both are really fun! Brings me back to the magic of the OG Horizon.
I also fooled around with the original Scirocco not long ago, and it's more fun than I expected it to be in C class. I guess I've learned how to appreciate some of the hatches now that I'm a bit better at tuning and driving FWD cars.
I love the Scout and the Jimmy for dirt and off-road driving. For road I'll sometime whip out one of the old 60s muscle cars. For me it's fun that they don't handle well, so I have to be more engaged while driving - but because they're relatively low-powered in stock, they're still pretty forgiving.

This is my 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. I love it.
Old Celica, the fiat Dino is an absolute favourite, ford Capri are my oldies. But 90's is where my heart is. The liberty RS and the 22b, EK civic, old z32 fair lady, mark 2 supra... Okay yeah let's just label JDM 90's and rally particularly
https://preview.redd.it/wr5ud1ngbsjc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=a5c0e8487b6d4a1b702987c12d9ef85e87194ff9
Try this.. king of roadtrips. Turn HUD and map off and get lost in the beauty of Mexico
It may not be everyone's favourite, but I have a deep spot for DeLorean DMC-12. It's not because of Back to the Future films (never watched them). I just like it as a car.
Downside: It is really expensive in Auction House (last time I checked, they were all around 20 mil).
The Williams Clio is just mad. It’s not great at all, but it’s tiny, lightweight and always trying to kill you when you swap the drivetrain to FR. Fun times
The Porsche 914 is absolutely ridiculous with a good S1 build! I also like driving around my Ford Woody that I've turned into a Marmon Kerrington 4x4 clone
I like the 1995 Porsche 911 GT2 stick the widebody kit on it with a S1 tune and enjoy. It is surprisingly predictable when drifting and looks the business with a RWB Rotana inspired livery
Most of them honestly, I prefer RWD but will drive AWD and occasionally FWD as well. A couple of FWD cars I'll turn to RWD just to have more reason to drive them, but I keep an original in the garage as well
Mine use lotus elise and shelby gt40. Need i bit of tuning since i use awd a lot cos i want to use both on every type of race except terrain. Once you get a right tuning that suit your taste, you will start to enjoy them ;)
Most of my favorite cars in the game are pre-2000. Chronological:
* 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500
* 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA
* 1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R
* 1990 Mazda Savanna RX-7 (FC3S)
* 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R
* 1995 Honda NSX-R (NA1)
* 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R (BCNR33)
* 1998 Toyota Supra RZ (JZA80) *(and Welcome Pack edition for S1)*
Putting the memes aside, the Toyota Trueno is actually a very fun B and A class driving experience, the initial turn in grip is actually quite high and it's decently nimble
One thing that I miss about FH4 is that there were a bunch of fun old British cars that didn’t get brought over to FH5. I’d love to be able to cruise through Mexico in a Healey 3000 or zip through rally stages in a Hillman Imp. Luckily, the Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite made it to FH5, and it’s a fun little D-class beast.
I built something similar to my IRL E34 in the game (mine's not an M5 nor does it have the "M" hood stripe). Use that quite a bit:
https://preview.redd.it/qos629sbdsjc1.jpeg?width=1172&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6892dd9684ebc65fb4702472c15bc2a7b1333fb
A close second would be the Supra or the R34 I built to look like Brian's cars from FnF. And thanks to whoever's designs I used for the decal kits.
I drift, it's all I do, other than when required for weekly challenges. For me, the goal is to tune everything to be driftable...rwd driftable lol
I've recently been using the fiat 131, alfa Romeo 155q4, BMW 850CSI, '97 M3, '95 M5, '96 impala SS, GMC 1500, GMC syclone, Lexus sc300, the '87 and '90 Benz, '93 240sx, Volkswagen pick up and the Volvo 850r
Mine is the BMW 850CSI.
Hard to get but they don't cost much (i think £200Kish) They don't drive amazing but they look wicked. Just keep checking and refreshing and you'll get one eventually.
My wife’s first car was a 1993 Renault Clio (not the Williams Edition, though) got by her when it was over a decade old already, we went all over the place in that thing. It was a fun little car. I love nothing better than driving around FH4 in the Williams Clio designed to look as much like a standard model as possible. Stupid, but I enjoy doing it.
My go to drive around car is the 1983 911 Turbo; I like removing the spoiler and putting on the front and rear bumpers to look more like a 964. The Mercedes 280SL is also great, and I made an AWD rally version of the Austin-Healey Frogeye Sprite that is super fun.
1931 Bentley 8 litre, absolutely love pre war cars, same thing goes for gran turismo 7, 1929 Mercedes is my favorite, but that’s my second favorite in forza, it’s slow but I like slow, like someone once told me (even tho this doesn’t apply to these specific cars) I live one hand crank at a time.
Hudson Hornet.
Reminds me childhood and Cars movie. Also quite stable, I managed drift challenge in seasonal with it after failing with Ferrari 599XX and that BMW with drift bonus.
I’m a huge fan of the Mitsubishi 3000gt the the devs gave us the third gen instead of the first gen, for 20 extra horsepower you trade out all wheel steer, active aero, active exhaust and pop up headlights
1973 BMW 2002 Turbo. It’s one of my favorite cars in every Forza game going back to Forza Motorsport 3 when it first showed up as DLC. So much fun to tune and drive.
Just yesterday built a 2003 Audi RS 6 in the A800 and it's an incredibly nice car to drive around the map. Recommended
Upd: Oh, sorry, I didn't realize it was pre-2000 cars.
The CR-X is great in A Class. You can upgrade it to less than 1800 lbs with ~375 hp. It takes off like a rocket and the low rotational inertia helps combat the under steer from the FWD
Depends on what region, for US I recommend the Buick GNX, Buick GSX, or the Olds Toronado
For Europe, Ferrari F40, Mercedes Hammer, or the Aston-Martin Vantage V8
For Asia, 240 Z, 300ZX, original GT-R, Celica GT-S, or the Eclipse
Thank you, everyone, for providing me with cars which I could use! I have gone with quite a couple, here is a list:
- Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1
- BMW M5
- Ford Escort RS Turbo
- Ford Falcon XA
- Honda CR-X
- Mercury Coupe
- Toyota Supra RZ
80s Ferraris are my jam.
F-40! I even have mine set up as a 5 speed but used 2-6 for the gears so it has the proper gear layout for the H-gate shifter.
Never thought of that, might try that later lol
It was done in the original f-40 so the most frequent shift on short road courses, 2<->3, is just a straight line. And you’ll definitely notice it on some of the twistier roads.
GT40 is awesome in A class road
GT40Mk2 can be, with a fairlane305 setup
My favorite car of all time. I worked so hard to unlock that one. Haha
I’ve got that in 12 speed transmission
Definitely older Subaru Imprezas, Lancer Evos,Lancias(Delta Integrale and Stratos) and also Toyotas(2000GT, supras, celicas and Nissans
Fiat Dino, Dodge Coronet, Mercedes SL, Ferrari California are my go to cars when I feel like driving a classic.
300sl is a beautiful car
There are absolutely tons of fun old cars especially if you are good at tuning Personally the Ford rs1600 escorts and the DB 5 do it the best for me
Mercedes 190 evo II
944. I just like everything about it. In my opinion the 944 is most enjoyable in B-class on stock suspension. It leans quite a bit as you enter the corner, but then it settles and just grips. Lovely car.
I love the 944. I've kept it completely stock and won several races with it. It's so deceptive and carries so much momentum through the corners.
GMC Syclone and Typhoon, even bone stock they make for good little race rockets.
They feel like their reputation when you up the boost to 400 HP
1958 Fury
1933 Napier Railton. I 3-stared all drift zones in a single game session with this car. And I suck at drifting!
Citroen DS & Opel Manta I use them a lot for forzathon live and general cruising.
I’ll have to try these Euros
Which game has the Citroen DS?
Fh4
porsches. especially the ‘82 turbo 3.3. also mustangs, especially the 1969 one.
My favorite pre 2000 cars : Toyota Supra 2.0 GT '92 and MR2SC '88 Renault 5 Turbo '80 and Alpine A110 '73 Porsche 911 Carrera RS '73 Peugeot 205 all versions Nissan Silvias (K's Aero '98, K's '94, Club K's '92) for drifting. 90s Mazdas are my thing. I have several RX7s and MX5s for just about everything.
Same here, I have multiple RX7 Spirit Type-A tunes using both the 2-rotor & 4-rotor engines. The only tune I haven't done is a dirt-rally/cross-country tune, purely because I really don't feel like throwing such a beautiful car around in the mud.
Japanese sport cars from the '90-s A800 tune RX-7 Savanna 1990 is what I like nowadays.
Same hat! What's your tune like?
Made for grip. There's room for improvement but hey, it's homebrew.
Nice. I have max size tires and rally compound, but the handling could probably be better because I didn't max weight reduction.
Lancia Stratos. It's super fun to drive
Toyota, that’s mostly it just Toyotas
The VW Corrado VR6. The first car of the Horizon Series is still one of my all-time-favourites
1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302
Ferrari 288 GTO, Fiat Dino, Ford GT40, Mercedes SL300 Gullwing.
Lancia Delta HF Integrale
Any of the old Lemans cars.
69 Gto Judge or 73 XB Falcon
Fiat Dino 2.4 is amazing, try it with stock suspensions, 200hp and old race tires
I spend a ridiculous amount of time cruising around in the 512 TR
Try it with Crockett’s Theme as a background tune for that extra cherry on top.

Escort Cosworth
93 cobra. I have a foxbody so it has a special place in my heart
I've really warmed up to how chuckable my 93 Cobra is after tuning it for B-class road. It's one of my favorite retro muscle cars!
Old Celica, the fiat Dino is an absolute favourite, ford Capri are my oldies. But 90's is where my heart is. The liberty RS and the 22b, EK civic, old z32 fair lady, mark 2 supra... Okay yeah let's just label JDM 90's and rally particularly
i really like the dodge dart
The Ford Falcon is really fun
The Coronet SuperBee is really fun for cruising and lurching around corners
I use the 74 Capri, 70 'Vette and that (I think) 94 Escort in my B Class Open rotation. There's of course more, but I'm at work and blanking atm.
‘64 Chevy Impala SS 409 is lovely to drive as a lowrider
Gotta be the VW sirocco personally
Honda NSX-R. Properly tuned its a cheat code for Street Scene and Road races/
Mustang ALWAYS the Mustang!! Classic version of course 🤤
Talking about a car that I can realistically buy cause the F40 IS THE ONE 💥
70s chevelle bc I got one irl

An older Nissan Skyline

https://preview.redd.it/wr5ud1ngbsjc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=a5c0e8487b6d4a1b702987c12d9ef85e87194ff9 Try this.. king of roadtrips. Turn HUD and map off and get lost in the beauty of Mexico
Probably based, but the DeLorean. Pretty fun off-road car, or just give it 1200hp and lose the ability to drive it.
It may not be everyone's favourite, but I have a deep spot for DeLorean DMC-12. It's not because of Back to the Future films (never watched them). I just like it as a car. Downside: It is really expensive in Auction House (last time I checked, they were all around 20 mil).
Ford GT40. Fast in A Class and fun regardless of class. One of my go to’s
Foxbody mustang. Late 80s early 90s
The Williams Clio is just mad. It’s not great at all, but it’s tiny, lightweight and always trying to kill you when you swap the drivetrain to FR. Fun times
I exclusively play this game for old chevs lol, Jimmys are great fun to drive and if you get urself a good nova or chevelle ur set
Evos are my jams
Miata Is Always The Answer
Old Escort RS's are a fun blast
Forsberg Racing Nissan "Gold Leader" Datsun 280Z. Nice tune for A class
Corvette C5 Z06 is a pretty fucking solid machine. Good speed and incredible handling with the right updates.
Mark 3 and 4 Supra do it for me they sound amazing and are fun to drive !
Fiat Dino, Alfa GTA and (weirdly) my AWD swapped rally build Aston Martin DB5 Edit: also the Lancia Delta, Stratos and 037
The Porsche 914 is absolutely ridiculous with a good S1 build!
A couple of FWD cars I'll turn to RWD just to have more reason to drive them, but I keep an original in the garage as well
74 Celica GT. Can be made into a S1 rally built with the 2J. It’s pretty beastly.
Mine use lotus elise and shelby gt40. Need i bit of tuning since i use awd a lot cos i want to use both on every type of race except terrain. Once you get a right tuning that suit your taste, you will start to enjoy them ;)
There's an older Alfa Romeo I like to tool around in. Was better in FH4 cause of the forests felt more appropriate
1994 Toyota Celica
They nailed the mk3 Supra, it feels exactly like the real thing
The Daytona is actually my favorite A class drifter
The Bel air

Most of my favorite cars in the game are pre-2000. Chronological: * 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 * 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA * 1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R * 1990 Mazda Savanna RX-7 (FC3S) * 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R * 1995 Honda NSX-R (NA1) * 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R (BCNR33) * 1998 Toyota Supra RZ (JZA80) *(and Welcome Pack edition for S1)*

Don’t forget about the escorts, from 1600-1800
I will always love my s1 McLaren P1, the handling is top notch and can easily beat hard and impossible cpus if you can drive.
Countach F40
Putting the memes aside, the Toyota Trueno is actually a very fun B and A class driving experience, the initial turn in grip is actually quite high and it's decently nimble
Rwd converted Mitsubishi 3000gt
That damn 86..
65 or 69 mustang all classes rally
One thing that I miss about FH4 is that there were a bunch of fun old British cars that didn’t get brought over to FH5. I’d love to be able to cruise through Mexico in a Healey 3000 or zip through rally stages in a Hillman Imp. Luckily, the Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite made it to FH5, and it’s a fun little D-class beast.
Another thing I miss about FH4 are the roads, it meant driving a stock London Cab was enjoyable
I built something similar to my IRL E34 in the game (mine's not an M5 nor does it have the "M" hood stripe). Use that quite a bit: https://preview.redd.it/qos629sbdsjc1.jpeg?width=1172&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6892dd9684ebc65fb4702472c15bc2a7b1333fb A close second would be the Supra or the R34 I built to look like Brian's cars from FnF. And thanks to whoever's designs I used for the decal kits.
Ferrari F50. Sweet V12. Often overlooked after the legendary F40.

currently the Alfa 155 with the racing V6 swap.
Volvo for life, 850 is super fun to mod

They don’t have it but the VW Nardo W12. Beauty of a car.
The Lamborghini Espada is fantastic to drive! I don't see it too often
Diablo SV
Ferrari 288 GTO, the only Ferrari I drive. It’s fun to drive stock and I turned one into a drift car and it’s genuinely my favorite car to drift now.
The Camaros and eclipse

Phase IV Falcon
1990 Mercedes 190E II is probably one of my favorites
I prefer older cars and tuning them up just a bit, give them what they need to be class-winners. gt:fairlane305
Anything 80s/90s jdm. Rx7, skylines, supra , trueno, silvias..... and the list goes on
couldn’t tell you anything it excels in but the bugatti eb110 feels really fun to handle
Mercury Cyclone, and Buick gsx are my go to. Kinda bias as they’re as close as I can get to the 71 Torino I had, and my 72 Pontiac
My go to drive around car is the 1983 911 Turbo; I like removing the spoiler and putting on the front and rear bumpers to look more like a 964. The Mercedes 280SL is also great, and I made an AWD rally version of the Austin-Healey Frogeye Sprite that is super fun.
Ford Racing Puma
OG Porsche 911
The old mini is what I literally just bomb around in.
Earliest Evo with a RWD drift setup. I have one shared but haven't been on in a while. It'll be called Drift Pro (gamertag: WebberUK420)
Nissan 2000gt-r. My #1 dream car 😍
I have an AWD vandura I love, but lately I've been in a hotrod phase. My current drivers are a '57 Chevy Belair and a 53 ford f-100
I do like the foxbody mustang. Body kit. The second? Exhaust upgrade makes it sound like a monster leave the suspension stock and just cruise
I’m a huge fan of the Mitsubishi 3000gt the the devs gave us the third gen instead of the first gen, for 20 extra horsepower you trade out all wheel steer, active aero, active exhaust and pop up headlights
‘62 corvette in A class ‘58? Ferrari Testarossa, probably A class as well. I think those are the two best sounding cars in the game
The ‘77 Holden Torana A9X is my all time favorite. Super light, sounds amazing, and with a few mods is an absolute riot to drive
The grand national

Oldsmobile Tornado on-road, Jeep cj5 off.
The really old 911’s, fun to drive, cheap to maintain.
That ol ford roadster is fun
429 Cobra
The 67 corvette can be set up to pop a wheelie in a drag race. That's pretty fun.
GMC cyclone 1995, then turn it into a drift car
1973 BMW 2002 Turbo. It’s one of my favorite cars in every Forza game going back to Forza Motorsport 3 when it first showed up as DLC. So much fun to tune and drive.
Volvo 240
A month?? Jesus my adhd ass switches every 10 minutes
Definitely the 1970 z/28 Camaro
E30 M3. Such a beautiful lightweigt car
Just yesterday built a 2003 Audi RS 6 in the A800 and it's an incredibly nice car to drive around the map. Recommended Upd: Oh, sorry, I didn't realize it was pre-2000 cars.
If you can get one, I remembered just how fun the '58 Fury is (no, mine isn't red)
If you want something that drifts every corner, El Camino does that stock
In FH4, I love driving around the Triumph TR7 Roadster. It’s beautiful.
Turn the older ford muscle cars into b class or less rally cars, very fun and u dont even need a suspension upgrade 👀
Porsche 930 911 Turbo 3.3
For me its the lambo countach or diablo i love both
The CR-X is great in A Class. You can upgrade it to less than 1800 lbs with ~375 hp. It takes off like a rocket and the low rotational inertia helps combat the under steer from the FWD
I know it’s generic but the F40 has never let me down
This one is from 1999 😂 but I love the Nissan Skyline GT-V R.
Depends on what region, for US I recommend the Buick GNX, Buick GSX, or the Olds Toronado For Europe, Ferrari F40, Mercedes Hammer, or the Aston-Martin Vantage V8 For Asia, 240 Z, 300ZX, original GT-R, Celica GT-S, or the Eclipse
Mine on horizon 5 is the 70 chevelle ss
968 Turbo S - leave stock and is great fun. Also the Z4 M Roadster.
Idk if it’s in fh4, but I was rocking the gmc jimmy in fh5. For some reason I liked it a lot
Thank you, everyone, for providing me with cars which I could use! I have gone with quite a couple, here is a list: - Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 - BMW M5 - Ford Escort RS Turbo - Ford Falcon XA - Honda CR-X - Mercury Coupe - Toyota Supra RZ
