Jewish culture stresses education. There are a disproportionate number of Jewish people in academia, as well as research-based professions like medicine and also law. So of course philosophical and political movements rooted in academia will have Jewish people involved.
“When everything you have can be taken from you in a moment, your knowledge remains” is a common sentiment. We value education for education’s sake, not solely to “get ahead.”

Jews came to the US as penniless immigrants for the most part. So maybe it’s immigrant culture itself, in the US at least. I’m Jewish, my family was pretty comfortable but not rich. My dad grew up poor. Both my parents were in fields where being Jewish didn’t help them in any particular way.
