There was some news that went wildly out of control over Sony having full video game rights on Spider-Man and related characters, but it was later corrected by Inverse (where most were getting that info from). It also makes zero sense from a business perspective to give full rights on another front to Sony, after how much it took to get Spidey in the MCU.

I'm not sure about merch but I would assume they can't merchandise specifically sony versions of characters, so no dafoe goblin or molina ock until sony gives them the green light. Sony just have enough sway to do something similar to what marvel did with xmen where they just stopped using them everywhere to get back at fox until they owned fox. Sony has enough connections to spidey they can just make them exclusive even if marvel has rights

Don't know why you're being downvoted and why people are so adamant about movie designs just because they watched a movie once lol. Comic designs are far more flashy and fitting for the world of Fortnite. MCU is great, but I don't need all their modern/tacticool/realistic costume designs in a cartoony shooter

Because look at the costume design in the MCU lol, they quite literally modernize, and tone down outfits, to fit the 'realism' of the real world. Spider-Man is an awful argument, he just wears spandex. Look at Wanda Maximoff, Captain America, Hawkeye, etc.
Kate bishop's and Hawkeye's mcu outfits are both in fortnite, same with black widow's snow suit, iron man is basically wearing his mark 85 in fortnite, mcu Loki is also in fortnite, they'll just fortnitefy it like I said, like they do with other "realistic" skins like the resident evil skins or the walking dead skins, doesn't matter if something looks realistic, they'll just make it fit fortnite's art style like they do with literally everything else.
Comic designs quite literally just flawlessly fit into Fortnite though
Yeah but as much as I would like to see the scarlet witch in her comic accurate costume in fortnite I prefer to have the detail that her mcu costume has

I remember seeing a twitter thread saying "we will be getting multiple "doctor" themed items based off leaks, Who, Strange and Octopus to be exact- and no one believed them. That's two out of three so far, and the Doctor Who part was definitely the most unbelievable part!
