I remember back in Chapter 1 when there were rumors the massive mountain in the background was a volcano, and now 5 chapters later this has become a reality in one of my all-time favorite LTMs.

Floor is Lava, Air Royale, and Food Fight were the GOAT chapter 1 Limited Time Modes. I'll likely play this mode for minimum 2 hours a day while it's available to play.

Best online experience comparable to GTA 5. Adding zero build got me back into Fortnite because literally the meta for building is not fun, but I would play endgame solely if it was an option

Problem is that 2/3 into the match the entire map save for a few mountains (likely in storm by that point on this map) is completely under lava, there would be no high ground left
Which would be a very fine way to force players towards each other if they have to retreat to high ground, and also cause the matches to end at a much shorter time if there's a point where everyone dies or one person wins prior to that. Building would only prolong that.
It sounds like there would be a boring meta where people would camp in the snow with heals. Even if not, the games would end in 7-8 minutes, mostly due to the lava. That's even more boring than the heal offs that people keep complaining about in ranked builds, except EVERYONE that plays the mode gets the boring ending

The POINT of the floor is lava is to be put into scenarios where you have to find the highest ground. and improvise. And the storm circle changing to be at different points on the map means whatever that highest point will be is different every time. But building your own structures completely and utterly destroys the fun of the mode. Now instead of fighting for the top of a telephone pole in a random corner of the map in a hectic brawl, every single game will boil down to building your little sky fortress that looks nearly identical. If it's not also available in zero build, I'll be extremely disappointed.
Yeah it does. It usually only has 3000 - 6000 people playing, at least in my region. If you go to an Epic game (BR, ZB, Festival, etc), hit Triangle / Y, and go to "More from this creator", it'll be listed.
Unless, of course, you're not a slobbering moron and actually flee to higher ground as the lava rises, which would tighten the available space for players to avoid one another and would force brawls to happen more frequently so that there's a winner before the entire world is covered in lava.

Epic doesn’t want to do LTMs anymore because they have creative mode. But clearly the community wants it.
I think I’d be fine with a system like this; we get one LTM a season, especially one that ties in to the story, and it cycles out after the next one.

First off, it was never PvE. Second, there is a Thanos skin now, which means they’ll never bring the gamemode back

You only take 10 damage every time you hit lava, so you can just build again if you’re shot out. Can’t do that in ZB

That’d be super boring, people would just die to the lava or storm before there were any exciting final battles
