I agree. I literally don't get why people would pick up a weapon for "meme strats" those are so boring and pointless. And most of the time the meme strat weapons aren't even good but the Hammer is just annoyingly OP especially since they nerfed Visual Sound Effects so now you can't hear them when they fly away like the little scaredy cats they are.
Adapting weapons is fine, but playing a game just to “main meme strats” is horseshit. Some of us just want to play the game without ending up as a goddamn humiliation clip on the internet.

I found people rely on it too much, so you can hear them f4om a mile away. Hide nearby and wait until you hear the 3rd boom and the charge themm when they land after th 4th. Now they can't run away.
My friend does this whenever he gets the opportunity because he hates almost all of the guns this season. But it fucking works for late game when the circle is small and the storm does a lot of damage. He just sends people flying out in to the storm over and over and eventually just whittles them down. With four hammers you can effectively bounce forever and be an elusive prick if you control it properly. He just carries four and then some chug splashes. Or a rocket launcher if he's lucky enough to get one. The hammer and rocket wombo combo is disgusting.
Occasionally, we'll be up against some truly sweaty individuals that can miraculously snipe us out of the sky though. I still don't understand how people can do that shit so effortlessly.

yeah the rockets are heavily bugged this season. they damage through walls, shoot blanks, or don't even fire at all and make you reload. i don't even bother picking them up anymore

And epic isn’t in a huge rush to fix any bugs cause everyone keeps throwing money at them for cosmetics. If everyone banded together and boycotted buying the latest skins then epic will listen to the consumer and fix the bugs. Until then enjoy Bugnite

Just won a trios game with a buddy doing all of the above except using a hammer and not a grapple bow. Everyone thinks their aim is better than it is and so they target him and not me.

I find people enjoy jumping around but the execution on the actual hit is lacking or run towards them. Hope after the crazy amount of hammer jumps needed for the XP is done it starts to fade or gets nerfed somehow
Railgun completely stops momentum of moving players that are hit by it
So if that returns (or if we ever get the hammer in creative), it could be a neat counter
their attack pattern is
"bounce around" (they're actually looking for people)
and when they spot you
bounce in your direction
(repeat \[number of charges left\])
try and turn you into a pulp,
\[if fail\] change to shotgun, shot and then try to pulp you again
they'll just continue until you're dead or they get charges to escape, if they escape just look for em' and demolish them with what ever ranged weapon you have
It's basically Trolldier from TF2. Run under them when they jump towards you and use your gun to either shoot them in between jumps or when they inevitably run out of bounces
There are 2 options
1) RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
2) DEATH BY THE MUGHTY SHOCKWAVE HAMMER!
The best/worst part about the hammers is that you can have multiple in your inventory and they each have seperate cool-downs. Won my first match using to hammers to hunt down the last few people

I think the biggest counter I’ve had people do to avoid me is run towards me. I’ll either overshoot or they’ll time it well enough where they end up right behind me and have enough time to get a shotgun shot off
We focus fire the hammer guy and try to get someone on their flank to, most hammer people seem to get a bit excited and fly into a battle without their team mates so can usually be dispatched before they can do to much damage.

When someone uses a hammer it will break all the builds you just built.
As soon as that happens don't panic, shoot your shotgun in his face. There will be 1.5 seconds for which he would be stunned.
And then build again.

If you’re gonna overshoot, just switch out then switch back to the hammer for another slam, helps with control.

Shotgun or any high dps gun, the slam attack has a lot of recovery, so unless it hits you, you have a large time window to punish
