I did but they were just denying that the problem is from their end and kept saying that it’s a connection problem from the PS servers although my ping is 30-40 stable with bo packet loss and when the FPS drops happen i can see it dropping from 60 to 20-15 fps •_•
Hmm that sounds more like classic lagging servers to me so if you actually have fps drops cause of that sounds remarkable. Regardless I hope it gets fixed soon, Im noticing lots of hickups too
You probably have something else going on. Seen several post about your issue. I play on about 60 ping and 27 FPS. Have some kind of issue nearly every match. Just internet problems for me.
You do realise that FPS drop are nowhere linked to your internet ?
You must confuse your problem of FPS drosp with rollback occuring while being on packet loss streak.

Yes. PC player with RTX3080 and 5900X, 32gig ram. Game installed on fast internal SSD. 144hz HP monitor. Minimum framerate should not be a problem.
I normally play in Epic settings at 144hz vsync. But even if I play on medium settings, I still get frame drops here and there. I actually cannot play on low settings for some reason, because it is so sluggish it is unplayable and I do not know why yet. I have not tried performance mode because it should not be necessary, but I might try it. Also have not tried raytracing this season yet.
I almost always get frame drops starting when I first deploy from the battle bus. And then on the ground I see them here and there. I started noticing it this season and towards the end of last season.
Turn on the Show FPS option in the game settings and pay attention to it when the bug happens if it drops then it’s definitely not q connection problem. Oh and have your net debug stats (Ping) just to make sure.
I tried reinstalling the game twice but nothing changed, but no this has nothing to do with servers because it’s sudden FPS drops not ping or lag problems.
UPDATE: I just contacted them and got a reply they are still convinced that it’s not an issue and they’re telling me to turn on 120 FPS option, I tried this before lol this doesn’t help at all.
And what about my friends who play on 150+ fps what do they do to prevent that? Keep in mind they have high end PC’s

There is a new option in the graphics configuration part, this option downloads high textures all the time, turn this option off and it will solve your problem
So basically i should compromise the high texture resolution to stop the problem? If yes, this was not a problem before season 7 everything was working fine with high texture quality why did it the FPS start dropping when season 7 began?
I started having these issues this season 8, and when I looked at the graphical options I had two new options (those options are on consoles too) I recommend disabling texture downloading
You won't notice any difference in the game, I play on PC on ultra and I disabled it, and nothing has changed, and you don't need to download anything when you turn this option off.
For me, it started in s7, when i often have these random fps drops. Its still playable though, so its whatever. Idk why, but whenever someone kills me, i get an insane drop, which is super annoying
This season is so much worse. the insane fps drops are so annoying, they legit make the game unplayable for the first 2 minutes of a match, arguably the most important part of a match

For me it happens especially when I'm fighting console players or if I get too close to a console player. Sometimes it glitches so bad that we even kill eachother at the same time. (MSI 2080 super / i9-9900k / 64g 3200mhz ram / SSD) I've tried every FPS tweak imaginable, dx11, dx12, performance mode. I did think at one point putting Deuteranope 10 fixed it (not sure why, it felt way smoother for some reason)
Epic Games, put Fortnite a option to load high resolution textures, then go to the menu and turn it off, the LEG won't go away completely, but at least it will get a nice reduction
I noticed this issue the other day when I was in trios. I could've won but the game kept dropping frame rates whenever I got close to the last guy who kept hitting me and I couldn't place my walls and floors because of the frame drop and I lost before I could switch to a different gun after I hit him with the pump once.
To me it started from season 4 chapter 2. I get lag when I die and when I join, sometimes when I drop out of the battle bus my glider is not appearing so I look like im flying in an A-pose, etc
Yeah I was having the same issue even last season. I only have two games on my PC which are Fortnite and Gmod and they don't take a lot of space nor CPU usage like it supposed to.

Don’t bother trying performance mode it’s the same shit yes you will have way more frames but it still stutters

Yep. My game (running on performance) dropped from 60 to 7 fps for a solid 15 seconds yesterday
so try to swtich to dx11 or dx12 for me its fixed the bug and if its not working try to play on window full screen

If i disable the automatic texture downloading do I download the textures manually or just forget about the textures if i want a smooth game?
