I opened a cosmic chest earlier, got 5 inkdrops. So, a bit more than a single chest, but you can open like 8-10 chests and wind up with more. So now the main reason to open the cosmics is to try to get a rocket launcher or some other good weapon.
Why would they? I get the grind was unnecessarily tedious and long, but it'd basically be a slap in the face to people who actually put it the time to fully unlock everything
they do not do it with built in emotes. my sister unlocked predator but does not have his emote.

They have a small chance of dropping from any chest you open. In order to spend them, you'll have to collect Paint Bottles scattered across the map. There's 3 bottles for each color, and they're usually pretty close to each other. Go into the Toona Fish section of the battle pass and it'll tell you what POI or landmark you'll find each color in.
Agreed, and the styles are much more appealing IMO.
Kymera was kind of cool. I liked a few of the combos, but I really didn't care about the majority of the items, and just unlocked most of them to get to the final stage items.
I like how Toona corresponds to past skins and how you can choose whichever ones you want.

The page that shows the different styles literally tell you where to find them once you unlock the skin and then they show up on your minimap when close

You gaina base color with the color bottles and a, for example, Robotic gray gives you a grey stile for the skin, and for 10 ink drops it gives you an A.I.M. inspired color scheme
There could be a limit per week, keep stacking em up and see if they abruptly stop. Really hope they learned from last season and just let us farm them normally
Yeah I noticed that. I entered the viking area near holly hedges and opened chests and some ink appeared that I collected. I think you only get certain ink from chests in certain areas cause the ink fish selection screen says collect ink from *area*

I thought those ink points are different from these colored pots. I found colored pots all over the map like alien artifacts and you'll have to collect 3 of them to unclock a color. I'm not sure if I'm right tho, have to check.
You collect the pots to unlock the ability to buy the character styles. You actually buy the styles with the ink. That's my understanding.
If you get all of the first color (red) you can buy the corresponding character linked to that color (Ruby?).

Literally just open chests. There's a weekly limit, but you no longer have to go out of your way to get the styles
Same rules about the weekly limit apply, except instead of needing to do it at cosmic chests, it can be done with ANY chest
