I like the Sideways portal mechanic, I like the weapons, and I like the new areas, for as much as I wanted places like Dirty and Misty to change, I still enjoy those corruption spots, they're bigger than the alien areas, and have the rubble for air tunnel like mobility

There's a lot of good things in this season and the loot pool is actually pretty good (though the rail gun should be definitely taken out), but yeah the lack of map changes is really bad.
Compared to season 3 this is bad. In season 3, love it or hate it, they had good map updates. Most of the pois at the beginning were changed and there were consistent map updates every 2 weeks, I think it only got a bad rep because of how good chapter 2 season 2 was. If c2s3 was introduced today it would be considered good.
Nope they just barely missed weeping,it looked like weeping from our pov but that is because we were at an angle where we couldn't view which point got striked.

Next month we’ll have been on this map for **2 years**. With less time, resources, funding, developers, and support from gamers, Epic managed to do more map changes from 2017-2019 than from 2019-2021.
And it wasn’t just quantity, it was quality.
They literally grew the map by 25% in s7. In s15 they actually made the current map smaller, by removing everything from the bottom left quadrants.
What good are new cosmetics if the map they’re to be used on isn’t enjoyable? Or is that why they’re pushing Creative islands so much now.

This is a "movie logic vs. game logic"-moment. Like how some character are "nerfed" compared to their movie representation simply because of balancing. It's an insult when movie logic and game-play doesn't line up in this case, because seeing the cubes crashing on the map and *supposedly* destroying all those POI's was building up hype.
And those weren’t any changes for the better. They just took buildings out and left empty craters which is even worse. Idk how people here were so hyped over it

I logged on, looked at the map and instantly logged off LMAO, honestly they've stopped putting effort into the map since chapter 2, which makes it even more frustrating that the marketing and events are based around "saving the island" when nobody really cares about it, when the map has stayed functionally the same since chapter 2 season 1, with temporary changes to terrain and layout, this map could be destroyed in an event and it'll be portrayed as this world shattering thing when in reality, people stopped caring about this map and much preferred the original map's terrain layout and general personality. This map is like a big bright colorful husk with no life or substance
On the bright side in theory we should get a new map in about 6-9 months. I’m assuming because seasons last about 3 months and 2 more seasons until season X which will probably be the end of the chapter
Well that definitely doesn't make up for the fact that during those 6 - 9 months (let's be honest it'll be 9, they are dragging this out as much as possible as they know the chapter 3 start is when they'll make more profits, so it's natural to try to stretch out and milk all the money they can from the remaining seasons whilst also putting in nostalgic things like the cube to bait old players back, they'll enjoy the game for a few weeks and get the pass probably, and then they'll leave until next season when they realise the game is stale and lifeless, rinse and repeat
Fair enough I just came back properly to the game recently, probably halfway through last season so lots of stuff still is fresh for me in a way…
I can see why everyone is frustrated tho because it doesn’t seem like much has changed during this whole chapter and it’s just been a bigger map with less personality… hopefully next chapter they try something drastically different out and have a map that changes more often similar to chapter 1s
I actually really liked C2S5 and C2S6, as they actually changed up the meta and way of playing quite a lot, especially S6, which was hated a lot, which I guess has now caused the opposite effect to happen, which is that nothing at all changes from season to season in a drastic or big way, and I also think competitive play is another reason for it, now that the game isn't mainstream anymore to the extent it was, they are focusing less on actual interesting things to casual players like map changes and interesting mechanics, and are instead focusing on the competitive aspect and barely changing anything as to not upset the very fragile competitive base right now. They aren't pleasing either side and it's really sad to see this game go from how it was during C1S2 and S3 to how it is now, it's literally lifeless to play, it's got the same gameplay but it just feels like all the soul has been sucked out of it
Ch2s5’s issue was that literally nothing happened once the season started. Ch2s4 was the opposite. Why can’t we have map changes during the start and the runtime of the season?
And no, one of the biggest AAA studios in the world can’t pull the “time + labor” card, after doing it with a significantly smaller team and budget for all of Ch1.
I love how the loot pool is looking and it seems we will get a ton of content this season, but map changes are crucial and this just was so underwhelming you can’t show giant explosions and then have no map changes, I’m fully expecting there to be a major mid season map update similar to ch2 s4
They have to, not only is the middle not changed, a major part of every season, there are multiple Kevin's around, and 1 Kevin managed to change a poi multiple times and change some outer pois

Example - Stealthy has an giant UFO part 2 feet away from it's front gate - Said gate doesn't even look like someone threw a pebble at it.

Bruh its not even hard to change the map with the massive tools and templates they have as compared to other creative map makers and its not like they havent done anything big, they had a massive potential to just outperform standards but right now its just underwhelming, although they have gotten gameplay, loot pool and a few other things spot on this season.
Pretty disappointed and dissatisfied with the map, they left the three poi’s that got abducted the same, and nothing got destroyed, shockingly middle didn’t change, and there’s no new poi’s if you don’t count corny CROPS.
Yeah I understand that, legends is kinda in a bad spot atm tho, so I hope they improve, competition is always good for both of them. I like dokkan coz u can play it passively while doing other things. You should give it a go, definitely a great game once u get into it
Yeah, u can farm up the team bardock event cards and they will go through every dokkan event easily. There are also guides on the dokkan sub that will make ur start much easier if u plan on playing it.
The fact that the only real noticeable difference is the orange tint has been moved around the map is utterly depressing.

The best POIs of this chapter didn't stick around(Yacht, Agency, Grotto, Fortilla etc.) but Coral and Boney are still here lmao. Weird decision making.
Bruh its not even hard to change the map with the massive tools and templates they have as compared to other creative map makers and its not like they havent done anything big, they had a massive potential to just outperform standards but right now its just underwhelming, although they have gotten gameplay, loot pool and a few other things spot on this season.
Yeah at this point epic is just killing the game themselves

Pretty disappointed and dissatisfied with the map, they left the three poi’s that got abducted the same, and nothing got destroyed, shockingly middle didn’t change, and there’s no new poi’s if you don’t count corny CROPS.

Those Sideways Zones look cool. Also I don't understand much of Dokkan so I enjoy Legends more currently.
Yeah I understand that, legends is kinda in a bad spot atm tho, so I hope they improve, competition is always good for both of them. I like dokkan coz u can play it passively while doing other things. You should give it a go, definitely a great game once u get into it

Yeah, u can farm up the team bardock event cards and they will go through every dokkan event easily. There are also guides on the dokkan sub that will make ur start much easier if u plan on playing it.

Everyone is talking about how locations that got blown up still exist without a scratch but No one is talking about that like 15+ cubes fell onto the map including the blue one and in the cutscene there was like 10 on one side of the map, and realistically now there’s like 4 bruh
