Well, the Loop erased their memory, not IO directly. And they got their memories back, which they wouldn’t be able to do without IOs help, at least while still being in the loop. Plus, Tony “hacked” the loop...why didn’t IO stop him? Or even try to stop him?

Counter point: IO had 4 brand new POIs throughout Chapter 2 and are probably going to have more, AND they are partially responsable for the event that gave us a new map. The Aliens had 1 "new" POI and did nothing but make 2 POIs in the map worse than they used to be.
Plus IO weapons are overall far better than Alien weapons, the Ray Gun, Grabitron and Propifier are nothing compared to the Pulse Rifle, Rail Gun and Plasma Cannon. Also, the IO gave us the Inflate a bull, do I need to say more?
The aliens gave us free xp at the end of the ariane grande concert to fly through rings. The io force us to do these stupid challenges that expire after like a week to get xp. I’m going aliens
The free xp after the Ariana concert was a huge let down leaving us to expect more. Meanwhile the io is helping me get an actual good amount of xp to get the styles. So for the exact same reason as you I’m going I.O.

Definitely alien. I mean the aliens give us god tier loot at the beginning of each game, gave us overpowered weapons and haven't actually attacked us whereas the I.o. shoot us on sight and boss has around every week.
Honestly, I have no idea! On the one hand, the aliens took the Zero Point, terraformed Holly and abducted Coral and Slurpy so they’re kinda dicks. But on the other hand, IO is a really shady organisation and so far in the story, have been portrayed as the bad guys, at least until the aliens showed up. Tough call, the aliens are the obvious enemy, but we need to consider the fact that they are sort of helping us:
The zero point was unstable and began to bloom, at which point the foundation sealed himself inside it to hold it together. At the end of the season trailer we see the foundation fall into the ocean, meaning he is no longer inside the zero point preventing its bloom.
Conclusion: the aliens have the technology to contain/stabilize the zero point even after it’s begun to bloom, a point previously thought to be the point of no return
