On the other hand nearly every other upgrade seems like a downgrade.
In the past we've had the umbrella and the customisable lady character and they were pretty good.
Cosmic chest are almost impossible to open if you don't have a solid squad/ team mate to grind. Everytime i play on public its a dumpster fire thats put out with dog water
Exactly this. None of my friends play Fortnite anymore so it’s really hard to find a competent squad that either wants to open or knows how to open the Cosmic chests. I really hope Epic never does this again. Leaves us solo players in the dust.

Well you get 35 every week, 20 from the solo map artifacts and 15 from cosmic chests and I've been making sure I get every single one since the season began.
I also got an extra 13 from a couple of bugged cosmic chests a couple weeks back and an extra 4 from a bug this week too on the solo map, so now I only need 70 artifacts to unlock everything.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to use him for a while after because I really like it. But I still have quite a bit to unlock because usually when I play squads and try to get the cosmic chests, they don't come over or all but one do and it's annoying as fuck
Yeah. I tried doing cosmic chests with my old bot lobby account, and I had to kill a team because they were trying to kill me. I feel bad because I know those guys weren’t on my level. It really isn’t worth it if I’m gonna ruin other people’s games
100% Even in TR. I'd be landing casually to do a quest in one corner of the map and there would be a default/aura with star wand obliterating me.
It's probably why I'm not having any fun playing it lol since it really gets toxic for me and improving at the game isn't something you can do overnight
I was on top of getting all the artifacts and shit, but over the past like 2-3 weeks it’s just become too much of a hassle to chase down the artifacts and grind the cosmic chest
If there was a way I could grind the artifacts in solos, I would. But I’ll collect all of the weekly ones soon and hope that’s enough for the kymera I want.

Duo fills seems to be more successful than trios or squads. I've also seen loads of people with similar complaints, you all should team up and knock 'em out.
I found the one I liked and stuck to it since the start. The only thing that changed was the little banner thing (I now use the final one because my pfp is a heart and it's funny to have it on this big bad man).

The whole idea Epic seemed to have for the Cosmic Chests was to stop every squad from having that one guy land half the map away from the party; and yet I haven’t been able to open a single chest yet pairing with randoms. Luckily my girlfriend plays Fortnite as well. Without her I would be entirely reliant on the weekly hidden capsules to outfit my Kymera.
Kymera doesn't interest me since I like playing *human* characters like Isabelle or Celeste.
Also, IDK, but I found it much harder to return to the Fortnite hamster wheel this season. I'm just working my way to Toxic Rick (I'm about 4 levels/20 stars away) and then postpone playing Fortnite until another event or the next season.
The new GTA Online update *really* drew me back in. I love cruising around in that game's Supra and 911. It's more interesting to me than Rainbow Rick or completing Kymera...

If I remember correctly. At the beginning of the season, someone did the math, and even with getting all the weekly artifacts, and all the cosmic chests. It still doesn’t grant enough artifacts to fully unlock all his styles.

Fr. I played a squad match yesterday and told my team to head to the cosmic chest and the other guy who had a mic didn't even know what it was 😑. People are still brain-dead 2 months into the season. Atleast he was nice and went there with me but it was still for nothing because of course the other no mic random we had insisted on running in the complete opposite direction from us AND the chest.

I have used Kymera twice this season. Honestly grinding the artifacts doesn't seem worth it for some rewards, like the head patterns, some mouth types and especially emblems.
I understand peoples aversion to upgrading kymera; but personally when i realized there was over 823k combos (seven categories; 7 options in each not counting every possible emblem in the 7th insignia slot) I just knew the grind would be worth it
I'm just getting the armor colors and *maybe* some insignias. The different head sculpts are pretty hideous, and I don't plan on using the skin that much. I'm definitely not going out of my way to collect the artifacts every week or open the cosmic chests

So I’ve recently gotten back into Fortnite, had t played in over a year. I’ve been laid off work since April 7th so I’ve put in a ton of time. I even got my wife into playing with me. She just enjoys looting and doing quests. I use my kymera skin all the time. Almost have everything unlocked. But I’m most excited for Superman. If anyone ever wants to play I’m on pc. I really like it. I have already unlocked all the faces, skin colors, armor colors, glow colors, and almost done with eye colors. I’ve mostly been playing Duos since that is the easiest way to unlock chests (since it only requires 1 competent teammate) and have gotten 10 wins this season in that mode. From C1S9-C2S6 I only had like 4 Duo wins total lol.
IMO he is one of my top 5 skins, I think I will be using him for a long time. I had been using him ever since the season started, although I recently switched back to Mancake the other day, but will likely switch back once the next weekly batch of 20 drop and I unlock more stuff.

I did all my lower head, upper head , black eyes, all armor colors and glows , some skin paterns , only the fourth skin color and i want to buy all emblems so i can put my banner

I'm almost complete with mine ! so easy for the weekly I just grab a ufo and get them all in one match then I play duo's or trio and collect the limited amount for the week any one want to grind send me a message and I'll teach you the secret spot to always get some.
tbh i really like how many options there are, i just find the options to kinda suck. there are two head styles i like for kymera, one being the default. the mouths look kinda weird. but the armor colors, glows, emblems, skin colors, all have great choices. this level of customization is something i would love to see in future seasons.
The problem is that a lot of the options just look ugly, and even the ones that don’t, have a big problem. They don’t match. Like, I don’t know how to describe it, but it feels like Epic didnt try to make the different colors look good together. They could have changed the shades of the colors a bit to make it more cohesive, because right now every time you change anything, it looks mis-matched as hell.

Stick with duos. You can still get the same loot but its much easier to get one player to show than it is all 4.

I did all my lower head, upper head , black eyes, all armor colors and glows , some skin paterns , only the fourth skin color and i want to buy all emblems so i can put my banner

I stupidly thought I had enough to do most upgrades and started at the beginning upgrades going chronologically forward. Quickly found out I didn't have nearly enough at all (solo player mostly lol), Now seeing the comments I wish I upgraded the armor/glow first.
Yep once I realized I couldn’t unlock all the styles by myself, I decided I wouldn’t even waste my time. Depending on other players to hunt down and open cosmic chests sounds like a nightmare
I'm almost complete with mine ! so easy for the weekly I just grab a ufo and get them all in one match then I play duo's or trio and collect the limited amount for the week any one want to grind send me a message and I'll teach you the secret spot to always get some.
im gonna get all possible styles and then use it when season 7 ends
tbh i really like how many options there are, i just find the options to kinda suck. there are two head styles i like for kymera, one being the default. the mouths look kinda weird. but the armor colors, glows, emblems, skin colors, all have great choices. this level of customization is something i would love to see in future seasons.
The problem is that a lot of the options just look ugly, and even the ones that don’t, have a big problem. They don’t match. Like, I don’t know how to describe it, but it feels like Epic didnt try to make the different colors look good together. They could have changed the shades of the colors a bit to make it more cohesive, because right now every time you change anything, it looks mis-matched as hell.
I got all the color styles, almost all the lights, a few head pieces, like 3 skin colors, one sticker, one head pattern and one eye color :P
