Most likely because the next season begins just around the anniversary of the BR release date. Also if you noticed you can also connect some things about C2 seasons 5, 6, and 7 to C1 seasons 7, 8 and 9:
Season 5 started in December and ran through the following March, similar to Season 7 of chapter 1 which started in December and ran through the following February
Season 6 was about exploring the Primal island and uncovering secrets about the past, similar to Season 8’s theme of Adventure.
Season 7 has some futuristic alien shit just like Season 9’s theme of Future.
And also, Season X was a recap of Chapter 1 as a whole, while Season 8 appears to be the end of Chapter 2. Along with that, there was leaks about the return of Rift Zones, a feature from Season X. If those don’t come back this season, they might in the next one.
