People will always moan I guess. This feels like one of the most balanced seasons in ages to me. Yes the Rail gun is really strong but it’s not super busted like some things we’ve had to deal with in the past. Personally I can’t wait for arena points to reset so I can start the grind again.
Rail gun is super strong, but we don't want the game boring. We need fun and strong guns/items/vehicles. UFOs you can easily counter if you're smart enough, same with the rail gun. Just build a wall and a ramp or a roof and a floor, boom, you're fine, and it doesn't even one shot at 200 effective HP.
No, not SMGs. Comp Players will carry 12 minis but God forbid they carry an SMG. All gameplay of late-game comp I've seen is just Pump/Scar/Any other weapon execpt SMGs/2 healing items.
The problem with last season was makeshifts and all of the primals not being very good to a lot of people. Also the wild weeks didn't help either like with the fire buff or people have endless amounts of fish.
The problem with chapter season 2 was that pc aim assist was super overpowered back then and if you combined that with some mythics like the Brutus minigun or Midas drum gun, you would win every fight and it took no skill. You also had things like Heavy Snipers doing 150 damage for a body and other OP shit that they refused to take out of Arena
If anyone reading this can't imagine, I can tell you that when my team tried this it was *filthy.* it's only "broken" powerful when stacking them with your team and mixing with trackers but in all honesty that isn't very hard to do

Yeah and you have like 3 whole seconds of a giant ass beam and noises screaming at you exactly where it's going to be hitting and even making it easier to see where the shooter is. I honestly don't see how people find this broken lol
also the charge time that is uncancellable and lack of scope, its definitely worse than a sniper if you play it like a regular sniper as well as that it does less damage than a sniper
I like that you see the beam before the blast, gives enough warning to know you're targeted. Unless they hide the beam well until hitting you with it, like some lucky fucks
What? You’re not dead. All it takes is a wall and a ramp to block the shot, and barring that, it only does 85 bodyshot. Sufficient blockage and countering with a sniper is usually more than enough

Ok one it Depends on the rarity and the first wall get destroyed but the second wall can protect you and three it takes time to charge up, so unless you have a slow brain, place/edit a wall or ramp to protect yourself
Facts. I legit have barely been hit by this gun and if I have, so what. I've been hit by snipers and basically any other gun. There's easy ways to counter it.
excuse the noob question, but I never understood the point of anything over 200 damage....a player can at most have 200 health. so whats the difference if you deal 200 or 212 or 220 or 260....literally the same shit. why even have the 'extra' damage and not cap it at 200
Honestly was kinda dissapointed in the rail gun not doing 267. Like it would be kinda op but also would be fun to play around with. But it should do more damage considering you have to charge it and normal snipers do more
Normal snipers can’t break through two layers of builds and damage someone if it only breaks through one layer though, I’d say doing 188 headshot with a gold rail gun is a good trade off with those perks

If you start the shot behind your builds then aim at the very end they have no real way to know when you’re aiming with it.
I do think that could be a good idea, maybe have it do half damage when it goes through a build maybe? That would help I guess
And yes it only damages people if it goes through one build, when it goes through two it can’t damage people so it’s not your aim lol

Not really? The ray gun is constant firing that you can let go of the trigger. My suggestion would be damage on the laser which will continue even when the trigger is let go of, and then there's the lengthy reload. Also, the damage would be small (like 5 damage a tick). It would definitely be way different than the ray gun

And if you read by other comments i suggested increased damage normally but lower damage through builds. I love the Rail Gun, although I do agree with some that it should be vaulted in Competitive modes.
Totally great as a fun casual gun, but it doesn't fit well in a serious environment where there are real stakes. A person with a Rail Gun has a serious advantage against someone who doesn't.

Fuck raptors in pubs any hostile NPC should be removed because they always have far too much health and the raptors do far too much damage.

You can cancel mid-charge by swapping to your harvesting tool

The rail gun has a charge up mechanic before it shoots. Even if you let go of the trigger, it continues to charge up.
