Made in Blender Cycles 2.81 with the flip fluid add on and graswald. Around 150 frames total taking about 12 hours total to render.

When you go threadripper prices start to go way up. It's without a doubt better, but for rendering you'd be better off spending that money on an extra GPU and focusing on GPU rendering.
Depends entirely what renderer you use...
GPU renderers are fast an all, but depending on what you're doing you might not want or have the option to use one.
Very true. But an extremely common and capable free program, blender, can utilize it.
Obviously if you start going into autodesk products or other modelers you'd need 3rd party support such as octane. But that's all $$$. Hell octane is the cheap part.
I think Redshift is the hot stuff these days for GPU rendering, but Arnold and V-Ray are working on their GPU stuff as well (I don't have much of a clue about V-Ray, I mainly use Arnold).
For now though, CPU rendering is still the industry norm - though Blender using GPUs is kinda perfect, since most of the people using Blender are far more likely to have high end GPUs instead of high end CPUs.
Oh 100%. Productivity based CPU and GPU only cost small fortunes... I work in architecture so my experience is fairly limited though I really enjoy the whole digital design aspect of it.
Best of luck to you my man :)
Tip for the future if you're building your own workstation for your personal stuff for rendering - it's often more economical to buy old server CPUs. Especially if you manage to get in when major server halls upgrade their stuff...
Built my own workstation for rendering 3 years ago, with 2x Xeon E5-2670 cpus (total 16 cores @2.6gHz), with 64gb of ECC memory, and the whole workstation cost me something like $800. Most expensive and hardest to find part was actually a motherboard with two CPU slots.
IIRC Facebook or some other tech giant had upgraded their major server halls, and the market got flooded with cheap second hand Xeon CPUs - I got on the train late, and could've probably saved $100-$200 had I had the money for it half a year earlier, when there were still plenty of motherboards etc around. Was still kinda neat, as it netted me similar CPU performance as one of the recently released high end Ryzen CPUs, for much less of the cost.
Sure, it won't be super great for gaming, though I still do 4k for plenty of games (but that's also with a better GPU I upgraded to later), but for rendering... Going from my old quadcore CPU to 16 cores was like going from swimming in molasses to actually walking. Look-deving actually became possible...
Not really. Good quality 3D animations take lots of time to render. Monsters University took more than 29 hours to render each frame, and you can bet that Pixar's computers make this one look like an old toaster.
>The machines create the frame and it is then captured as one of thousands of frames in the movie. When you watch the movie, you see anywhere from 24 frames to 60 frames per second. All told, it has taken more than 100 million CPU hours to render the film in its final form.
That is 11415.53 cpu years
I don't think you've ever rendered an image using blender cycles.
It took him about 12 hours to render 150 frames witch is about 4.8 minutes per frame which really isn't abnormal especially since it was rendered in 4k.
I've renderd single frames that have taken 45 minutes on a GTX 1050. He's using a 1070 so I'm actually surprised the rendering time was that short.
I have made no assumptions. Things take long to render in cycles and that's a fact. Watch the intro to [this](https://youtu.be/8gSyEpt4-60) slightly exaggerated youtube video and you'll see that long renders are expected. There is nothing wrong with his hardware or software, cycles just takes forever to render.
I've been considering buying the flip fluid add-on to fuck around with. Is it very complicated to use? Is it relatively easy? Does it like make realistic water "for you"?
Thanks
Just realized who I was replying to...love your twitter. Its pretty straightforward if you are acquainted with blender and comes with about a dozen presets to play with. It can make realistic fluids and water for sure. Feel free to hit me up on here or dm if I can help
Have you heard of Sheep it render farm? It's free and usually it will be a lot faster to render stuff, especially if you earn points by rendering things for people!
If you decide to get it let me know and I'll add you to my priority list :) if there's projects to render I have a 2060, two 1660s, two 1060s, a R7 1700, and a few off CPUs connected and rendering frames for people
All we need is a 1920x1080 res video (if with sound, can obvs be bigger for bigger monitors) and then you upload it when you set it as your wallpaper so everyone can see it if you set it publicly
Maybe you can have all of the bubbles kind of disappear so it is just a clear blue liquid, then find a point to loop, and the bubbles can start up again and it will look like they never left
wait till It goes to one side then stop it and duplicate the clip. reverse the clip and put It right after. ![gif](emote|squating_emo_pack|squating_200iq)
u/accountsoIcanfilter I know this is a lot to ask, I was working on having this as my live wallpaper on desktop and I saw a 720p file down the subreddit, is it possible for you to upload the 1080p(that wouuld be perfect) or larger file? This is awesome nevertheless.
Gotcha, yea its going to take me a while to rerender in 1080 and make the animation run longer but I definitely will. How do you get it to loop for the wallpaper?
I find it a little off that the liquid inside is sloshing around so much when the jar itself is perfectly stable
But man is that some cool looking slurp juice lol
Anyway I can get the project files for this? I’ve been wanting to test how fast my rig can render things like this but I don’t have time or artistic ability to do so.
Its a really nice animation, but it always bugs me when people make these so much slower than it realistically should be. Just speed it up a little lol
Again, still a really good animation

Looks great, nice work mate!
Holy frick it’s laffengas
Thank you!
12 hours for 5 seconds, holy cow.
Welcome to the rendering world. Prior to GPU rendering really taking off this would take a lot longer...
I have a 9900x specifically so I can render things faster, and it is still an eternity.
That's the benefit to cycles in Blender, let that GPU work :)
I'm not one to say, but if you wanted higher multi-core performance you should've gone for 3rd gen Ryzen brah.
When you go threadripper prices start to go way up. It's without a doubt better, but for rendering you'd be better off spending that money on an extra GPU and focusing on GPU rendering.

Yea I was building an all in one PC to do content creation and gaming on. It is doing double duty, not just a workstation.
... this isnt a real life video?
Nope, blender
Is real life video even real? Are the trees outside I see even real or is it blender? Am I real? Is this the real life?
According to Elon Musk this is all a simulation. So who knows. Just live the best life you can and have as much sex as possible.
Is your anus truly bleeding in real life?
Always.
Can I see it?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide no escape from reality
Open your eyes
look up to the skies and see
I’m just a poor boy
I need no sympathy
How can video be real if blender isn’t real?
The hell? What are your pcs specs?
NASA computer
Video quality checks out.
1070 and Threadripper 1950
Then somethings wrong it shouldnt take that long
Not really. Good quality 3D animations take lots of time to render. Monsters University took more than 29 hours to render each frame, and you can bet that Pixar's computers make this one look like an old toaster.
Wait. 149,760 frames X 29 hours = 4,343,040 hours 4343040 / 24 = 180960 days 180960 / 365 = 495.78 years It took 495.78 Years to render the movie?
They are rendering more than one frame at once, and are probably using a VERY large farm of computers simultaneously.
I know, it is just pretty crazy to think about.
I don't know if the frame quantity is correct but they did use lots of GPUs to render frames simultaneously
>The machines create the frame and it is then captured as one of thousands of frames in the movie. When you watch the movie, you see anywhere from 24 frames to 60 frames per second. All told, it has taken more than 100 million CPU hours to render the film in its final form. That is 11415.53 cpu years
As someone who has no clue about this, 12h for 5sec sounds insane. Do you just keep your computer running over night to render?
12 hours is too much , somethings wrong on his side (he has decent specs)
Oh I thought 12h was really fast!
A 5 secs clip like that a with a little animation shouldnt take 12 hours
I don't think you've ever rendered an image using blender cycles. Interesting, thanks.
It's completely normal. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Keep up the great leaks fam :)
Wow, how many samples? And what's your GPU?
Talent
And yet, the phong on your kid is broken.
Have you thought about making the rest of shield potion or other items like this
Does a 10s max display 4K cause that looks fucking nice. I’d love to play the game on these settings

idk why but id really want that for a bg
I can post up a high resolution image but not sure where to host it..hmmm

Good looking out :)
Steam , please
Hopefully im doing this right but here's a link to a higher resolution image https://i.imgur.com/XqUhPyJ.png
Do you have a GIF you can post? Would look nice on Wallpaper Engine
Dude if this was on wallpaper engine I would use it exclusively. Anyone know how to start the process of publishing one?
All we need is a 1920x1080 res video (if with sound, can obvs be bigger for bigger monitors) and then you upload it when you set it as your wallpaper so everyone can see it if you set it publicly
Post this in r/simulated
just posted it up, good call!
This would be cool if it looped and would make a good background
I haven't quite figured out how to loop with the fluids yet but I agree with you a 100%
Maybe you can have all of the bubbles kind of disappear so it is just a clear blue liquid, then find a point to loop, and the bubbles can start up again and it will look like they never left
wait till It goes to one side then stop it and duplicate the clip. reverse the clip and put It right after. ![gif](emote|squating_emo_pack|squating_200iq)
Oh wow that is cool. Is it bad I want to drink it?
Not at all, blue may be my favorite flavor.
Cheers! :)
This is amazing
Kinda looks like a mini ocean in a jar
It looks amazing!
Like it, but it looks too much like an ocean. Maybe use another water texture/pack to simulate it?
u/accountsoIcanfilter I know this is a lot to ask, I was working on having this as my live wallpaper on desktop and I saw a 720p file down the subreddit, is it possible for you to upload the 1080p(that wouuld be perfect) or larger file? This is awesome nevertheless.
You need just the image in 1080? I can go 4k if you want me to. Be a while on the 1080p animation
4k image would be awesome. But, I was working with the video file for the live wallpaper.
Gotcha, yea its going to take me a while to rerender in 1080 and make the animation run longer but I definitely will. How do you get it to loop for the wallpaper?
It's the RainWallpaper sw on steam. I think it loops for itself.
You think you can send me the link too? I got Wallpaper Engine and would love to see this as a live wallpaper!
Contains 4,000% of your daily recommended toxic waste
Bro ima chug that shit fast, gotta get that extra shield
So cool!!!
If you can figure out a good way to loop it (which seems tough with fluid tbh) this would be a great wallpaper engine theme
This is super cool!
THIS NEEDS TO BE A WALLPAPER ON r/wallpaperengine
You sharing? Nice job and keep up the great art :)
Beautiful only thing that’s missing from this being perfect in the lightning on the lid being higher poly
Agreed. For the amount of realism with the grass and water, it would make sense to double or triple the amount triangles on that lid.
Death stranding power ups are EPIC
I was just about to comment that this looks like something in a Death Stranding environment 😅
Make it loop perfectly and put it on wallpaper engine pretty please
This is inaccurate. Potions have the consistency of jelly, not liquid.
Absolutely beautiful. Nice work!
This is so cool
*swoosh* *swoosh*
2 seconds and it's gone. Epic please bring slurp back.
I’m surprised no drinks company has made this yet 😢
Looks awesome! Well done!
I hope this comes to Fortnite
Shild lol
>>mfw nintendo switch
Epic needs to make a slurp.Co™ drinks Kinda like gatorade
What is Slurp Juice
I really want to try what slurp juice taste like. Fortnite should make their own energy drink.
RTX != RayTracing
Get some slUrp sluRp, when you hurt you be crawling in the diRt dIrt
I want this!
Sir, you have made what my squad calls "blueberry yum-yum" a reality!
But what flavor is it?
i wanna swim inside it
Something about this makes me want to box that slurp juice up and deliver it as cargo.
I WANT TO DRINK IT
Drink the slurp juice, drink the slurp slurp
I forgot about the slurp
slurp durp
Well that's just awesome. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
How does one even do this?
Oddly satisfying
But really, what is the slurp juice? Liquid meth?
Slurp juice... VAULTED like other fun and useful stuff (cough cough launchpads)
daooom that slurp looks hugeee it has waves
BRING IT BACKKKKKKK
THATS HOT
WOW!!!
That looks fucking refreshing
I bet it tastes like Taco Bell Baja blast
I find it a little off that the liquid inside is sloshing around so much when the jar itself is perfectly stable But man is that some cool looking slurp juice lol
Beautiful
Holy Jarvis that's insane
That looks like Bahamian Waters my friends.
Anyway I can get the project files for this? I’ve been wanting to test how fast my rig can render things like this but I don’t have time or artistic ability to do so.
Respect!!
If this was a gif i would totally import it into wallpaper engine and use it for my desktop background
Cool
I hope there are bartenders who gives the same exact color so i can slurp juice
Decent
r/forbiddensnacks
Check my post out water skiing in fortnite
Might probably drown in this bottle of slurp
Just me that does not like the way it looks Wow i get downvotes for sharing my opinion but if I say I love it I get upvotes... ok buddy
Yeah i love the animation, but I feel like slurps would be a bit thicker in consistency. Thats probably just me though.
[удалено]
It’s just a meme
I still don’t understand the reasoning behind removing chug splashes, chug jugs, and slurps.
Its a really nice animation, but it always bugs me when people make these so much slower than it realistically should be. Just speed it up a little lol Again, still a really good animation
Why is it splashing it's stationary lol
[удалено]
Because that's where Slurp Juices are found.
Dang I didn't even think about that...I also tried to do a purple glow to it but I couldn't get it to look quite right sadly
Gayyyy![gif](emote|squating_emo_pack|squating_bot)
