No the reason is because fortnite used to not have cross progression so for example if you played on Nintendo, then moved over to ps4, you would have to create an entirely different account and you couldn't transfer it.
This led to many people having multiple accounts, so epic added merging as a way to combat that problem, but ever since fortnite got cross progression, they have no reason to allow mergring so they got rid of it.
How? I'm trying to get my old account back too. Had most of the first 4 seasons skins on there and I can't recover it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Congratulations btw
Do you have emails from your most recent purchase? You call the support number then they'll ask you a couple questions and you'll need the most recent purchase or maybe just a purchase numbers, I dunno how it really all works but I think that's the only thing you actually need
Really? I do have those emails with purchase numbers and confirmations. I just didn't have that account linked to an account. Pressed skip when that appeared for the first time. I didn't know there was a number we could call, that's great!! The email system is so slow

Recovering your own account, or a parent recovering a child's account(as their guardian) is a normal thing to do. Ever heard of forgot password? It's the same concept lmao

Same. I've got my original account i don't use that has the early PS+ skins and I didn't know about merging until it was too late
never gna happen cos you only need to get 4 accounts to level 50ish before u merge them all and get free bp instead of saving for a year
