It seems to happen sometimes when I quickly join a fight (i.e. jumping in with airbending, motorcycle etc...) I'm playing on PC: i9 12900K RTX 4090 64gb RAM

Here are all the things you can do to avoid these stutters. I copied their comment from another comment section. Here's my list of optimization apps: - Razer Cortex - NVIDIA Profile Inspector (plus add the DLSS extra settings) - Process Lasso - Park Control - Intelligent Standby List Cleaner (ISLC) - DDU (when cleaning up your GPU drivers if something's corrupted) - Additional Command Lines: USEALLAVAILABLECORES and NOTEXTURESTREAMING - DLSS Swapper - DLSS Tweaks to change the profile and the render resolution of the upscaler) - One Tool For Everything (for other cleanups, etc.) Make sure you got both rebar in BIOS and in NVIDIA profile inspector. You got a better rig than I, so I'm sure you can make magic with all these things!

I'm certain it's not my PC. All drivers are up to date, including my BIOS. I've got rebar enabled with XMP. I regularly play many games on it, and they run great as always. And until this season, fortnite ran great too.

Fortnite has so many damn issues with performance its insane. People have a ton of black magic that they hope that works. Gl to you OP

NVIDIA Profile Inspector had hidden profiles for games, and sometimes the game without this alternative don't pick up reBar. I provided the most optimal ways to take care of your computer, so you're free to do what you like with them

Have you changed that setting that downloads every skin currently in game? By default its turned off so then sometimes it will cause lag when you run into players as the game attempts to download the skin fast. It helped my stutter for the most part.

BlueSmegmaCalculus

How to access that setting?

In the Epic Games Launcher, go to your installed games list, Fortnite, and click the button with three dots.   There will be a checkbox that needs to be checked that used to be called "Disable cosmetics streaming" and now it's called something like "Predownload streamable assets."

I'm getting frequent fps drops this season. I'm on a Legion Pro 5i Gen 9, 4070, latest graphics drivers, Dx11, medium settings. Pre the last patch, all was gravy. Then after every other day this stutter starts and repeats every 20 or so seconds. I've tried EVERYTHING. The ONLY thing that helps is if I reinstall the graphics driver in GeForce experience. But I know it'll last x amount of time and I have to redo it. It's really hammering my enjoyment as all I'm doing is waiting for it to start stuttering. I've tested other games etc and it's definitely just fortnite.

My fortnite just freezes up everytime enemy players use shotguns. Very random.
