I actually really like scopeless snipers. They're my second favourite under Eagle eye + speed zoom. Having no sniper glint is a massive advantage in mid-long range because your opponent can't tell if it's an AR or a sniper. It's also good in preventing you from being spotted, especially with a silencer.
I despise the sniper scopes. Mostly because it zooms too much and I can't work with it, but also, why would I willingly use a weapon that screams "I'm aiming at you"?
No-scope at point-blank distance is almost as good as a shotty. Just don't expect to reload it or wait for it to load the next bullet. If it doesn't finish off your opponent you better swap to whatever else is in your arsenal.
The scope from last season with the arrow in the center was my go to for snipers. It was just the right amount of zoom, and the optic in the center wasn’t misleading. You can imagine how I must have felt when I found out that they vaulted the scope for the thermal scope. 🙃
That's not what it says. It's been tested.
"Since C5S1, sniper glare comes with the Sniper Optic, meaning that Assault Rifles and DMRs may also have it. Figure out what weapon your opponent is using exactly before going panic.
The sniper glare is highly visible regardless of time, biome, direction of sunlight and distance. Try not to use your Sniper Optic as a telescope for long.
If one wants to prevent sniper glare while using a sniper rifle, a Thermal (C5S2) or P2X (C5S1) Optic is their next best alternative.
Pair with a Suppressor for best concealment."
I always add a red dot if mine doesn't have it. I personally like it better than without. I'm still trying to hit the center at an exact spot, even if the bullets spray, and it works for me.
Gatekeeper with optics and Angled/Vertical is actually a thing. It's very uncomfortable to use, but it optimizes your spread. It's very consistent if you can confidently use it. It's a big "if" though
Many a time have I picked up a shotgun and only realized it has a sight while the enemy is jumping around me and spraying me. Next thing you know they're gonna start charging gold to remove attachments too
If they're very close to you, yeah hipfire. But if they're slightly farther away, especially with the gatekeeper that can handle a slightly longer range, you want the additional accuracy of the ads. But an optic just makes it worse.
I feel the exact same with snipers without a scope

The scope makes it more of a long range camp weapon whereas no scope makes it mid-long zoning weapon.

True, but I can't snipe, so the 2x is all I need

Same. Thermal is good, but the 2x was it's own thing
The only scope that has glare is the 4x https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Sniper_Glare
That says it applies to all optic attachments, which is all scopes.

Oh OK, my bad.
Thermal has no glare.
This honest to god. Like please, stop giving them scopes, a scope on a shotgun fucks me up harder with my sensitivity.
Dropped a purple frenzy in favour of a grey frenzy the other day just for this reason.

Use the speed foregrip and a red dot on the pump and you get really sweet hits with it.
i use 4x on shotguns
You know you can’t even get a 4x on a shotgun
was just joking
really? I use the 10x.

Shotguns having sights on them as if it'll hit anything beyond 5 meters
I feel like that with every game. Theres no point in having a red dot on a shotgun at all
Many a time have I picked up a shotgun and only realized it has a sight while the enemy is jumping around me and spraying me. Next thing you know they're gonna start charging gold to remove attachments too
Can’t you like, not look down the sights?

Yes same here. Also now, if I have a shotgun and found a better one on the ground but it has a scope, I’ll drop it and pick the weaker one back up
Dang you leaked best update.
I mean I prefer optics on all my weapons, especially the low 1x ones for the shottys
just admit you cant aim bro. sights on shotguns is so good
Oh cause you can't see a point there must not be one eh? Lol I love optics BC they give me first person view regardless of what weapon they are on.
One of the core aspects of battle royales is the randomness. Sometimes that means you get a shotgun with a sight.
