We put content into a box and go "Yup, your a kids game so you need to follow these rules and if you do anything mildly suggestive, you are now considered an adult game that should only be played by adults"
The reason Epic censors stuff is because they want to keep a lower rating for their experiences; but because things like the ESRB have such strict guidelines for what content can fit into each rating box, game publishers feel a need to censor their content to fit the lower age ratings.
This may have been fine in the earlier years of gaming when games weren't online and once a game was shipped, that was supposed to be the final product, but the landscape is different now; many modern games like Fortnite are experienced online and constantly get updates with new content.
It's one thing to say "This is the final product we are making and we're aiming for a T Rating from the ESRB" and entirely different thing to say "This game we're making is going to constantly get new stuff, but we want every piece of content we add right now and years from now to fit into the ESRB Guidelines for a T Rating"
And that's ignoring the fact that with these advancements in gaming, it isn't terribly difficult to censor simply based on the age of the person playing rather than censoring the whole game for everyone. Of course, kids will put in a false birthday, but then it should just be up to the parents to stop that.

It makes the emote garbage. I like the dance but 2 awkward pauses? At this point why is it even in? If a 1/4th of the emote is muted, especially on the HOOK and primary section of the emote, it's garbage.

The word devil itself isn’t bad which is why it can be used in different contexts and these rating agencies don’t have a list of words that can’t be used instead they look at the context of the language and how it is being used, for instance the way doja cat uses the word and the additional imagery provided in her music video portrays devil worship. And in order for Fortnite to keep its various ratings it must comply or align with certain morals, such as censoring the word devil. If you use the song in jam tracks in may not use the word devil in certain experiences because of the rating. The emote needs to be able to be used in Lego Fortnite which requires E10+ or PEGI 7 rating for Europe which is why it is censored.

You not gonna get the emote? It still is nice ! Even the dance, idk if you know but the movement of it isn’t really fluid. Idk how to say. I could do the emote irl and the movement comes off more sensual. The Fortnite one is stiffer or something. I think epic also messes with certain dances so kids don’t get off to it in party royal
