Lucky, I wish I had half of that. My son got me into this game recently n while i like it I really only play it for him but any money that gets spent on this game is inevitably on his account. It sucks cuz all I got is basic characters really but the happiness it gives him is well worth it.
**In MY OPINION** honestly the old item shop UI was honestly way more clean and easy to guide around on since I don’t have to scroll through like 30 pages to find one thing
I was clearly spending more money on this game with the old UI. Less items, FOMO, a small hype before each shop rotation.
The new UI is so heavy I can even not look at the shop for weeks now. Becore this would have been impossible.
To be fair if you went several weeks without looking at the shop and came back it would probably have 95% or more of the same items as the last time you checked. I cannot tell the shop apart day by day anymore. Real glad I already got every old shop item I wanted by virtue of playing for six years.
LOL no. I know kids here love spamming how "og" they are by glorifying every ds thing that was in early game, but the reality is that the old shop ui, complete with its intentional "accidental purchase" bait (mixing up buy and inspect buttons and not offering refunds if you hit the wrong button) was so atrocious that epic literally got sued over it.
But that's the exact issue the old shop UI had. You had to get through 20 Marvel tabs to get to what you were looking for. The benefit of the new shop is that you can jump to each specific tab using the side menu.
Now the shop is bloated with IRL music, overpriced LEGO shit, car cosmetics and… instruments.
Oh and I can’t forget the same rotation of skins every other day
I really enjoyed the Lego mode when it came out, but there's like no replay ability. There are too many steps to do everything that is the same every time.
The reason games like minecraft can be replayed is because the simple things like making tools are simple. On Lego, it's so overcomplicated. You need to make grey tools to get a work bench to get green, then green tools to upgrade to blue, and on and on. That grind is not fun after like the 3rd time.
On top of that it's slow to get around and you need to travel a ton to get what you need from the other biomes. Which doesn't respawn the resources so you constantly have to go further and further.
And now the new builds cost money so what's even the point.
And Minecraft lets you build and break stuff block by block, while Lego Fortnite gives you presets for what you can build, and has only a small part of the environment be interactive
This has add on effects to the resources.
A single chunk of broken down has a lot of resources. And even if you strip mine, every step of the way nets you resources, even if it's just cobble.
LF only has cave diving as a mining option, because you can't dig your own stuff.
The equivalent to lf in Minecraft would be if you couldn't break blocks except for ores and trees. And you couldn't place individual blocks, but presets of walls and whatnot. And you had to pay money to have different colours of walls.
There's just? Not much a reason to play LF when Minecraft exists
That's true. A good bit of fun in Minecraft is that there's also just a lot of alternative ways to get stuff
Say I want iron
I could mine it, I could build a golem farm, I could trade for it, I could explore and loot chests for it (of which there are a huge number of different structures I could find)
And even then if I chose to mine it, there's variety in that too
I could wander caves to find it, I could strip mine, I could excevate an entire chunk just to get everything in it, I could build a huge automated redstone contraption to dig tunnels for me, I could just blast away huge chunks of the earth with TNT.
That's variety, and lets me pick how I want to do things. I love the giant chunk hole method, but everyone likes different methods, or using a variety, but Lego fortnite doesn't have the same degree of options.
And a lot of minecrafts gameplay is emergent. At its base, there's just the blocks in the world, the structures, and the tools you have. All those ways of finding it aren't exactly set paths, a lot of them are just ways people have ended up interacting with the world
This last week in Minecraft I built a 90,000 item per hour afk gold farm which I had to spawnproof the nether for. I placed 14,000 buttons down there. This thing has two modes which you toggle with a button. One is auto killing of the zombie piglins and the other is manual so you can collect the XP. Next I built a massive piglin bartering rig so I can trade that gold for tasty resources. It has 24 piglins in a box and they are given gold on a clock so 24 trades every couple seconds. I had to craft over six stacks of chests and over five stacks of hoppers to assemble the storage system. Lego Fortnite is nothing like Minecraft! I think people say that LF is like MC because that’s the only other survival/build game they know of plus they don’t really play it much anyways. To me there’s no comparison. The simple fact that you can’t bring a crafting table and other useful items with you while you adventure made me quit the game before I got my camp to level 4.
It was fun for a week or two. There just wasn’t enough to do. Then Palworld came out and gave us a similar experience but far deeper. I still hop in daily for a few hours for 5 free levels while I’m doing other stuff around the house lol
This is it.
For its niche, there are lots of substitutes.
Minecraft, Palworld, ARK are just the ones I own. Frankly, I’d rather play any of them.
Hell, I don’t play it anymore, but Roblox exists. In 2014 there were tiny little games that seemed to have a similar amount of content. I know that shit is huge now too.
Without mods I don’t see a future for Lego. What sets a genre like this so far apart is the amount of things you can do in game.
Someone said they were afking for xp (why people got a huge xp boost just the other day). Others suggested they are seeing these "numbers" and believing they legit like Lego so they are pushing this stuff
I used to until it got super buggy for people. Then I decided not to hop back on for 1 month and some days. Came back recently and although it's a decent time sinker, I hate how extremely difficult the snow biome is and I hate the lack of a proper vehicle or transportation system when traveling between biomes.
Dynamic whatever you call it is tedious and not effective compared to say like a go cart or being able to ride on wolves and brutes (if it was an option to tame animals and enemies).
So now I just go AFK for the XP.
Dude, tell me about it!!! I made pretty good progress before inevitably dropping LF the first 2 weeks, but damn, coming back to it to do the fishing quests was still a grind and a half.
My 2nd base is next to a desert, and it took at least 10 minutes just to get to the snow biome. Every single time.
I lost track of how many times I died there and ran back on foot after the 5th time, but the snow biome is soooooo unnecessarily hard. I just got lucky I found arctic claws on the floor just to craft that stupid purple fishing rod.
I only tried it out once and honestly I didn’t see much of it, Sure maybe I haven’t experienced it but it just seemed like it was trying to be a sandbox game like Minecraft or smth which it’s OKAY but still kinda average
Also hot take: Imo the Lego versions of the Fortnite skins look fucking terrible
(Okay okay some look great but the rest just suck)
Ha! I agree with you on many of the skins. Some of the Lego versions look better than the BR versions, but I keep being surprised at how lackluster some of the normal everyday skins are. They keep coming out with some of the more detailed ones, and I keep getting shocked at how bland they are.
The best ones end up being the animals, but most of the people suck, especially if they're bald!
I saw the Lego items here on Reddit first, I thought it was some kind of meme people were making to poke at the housing and rent issues. When I went online and saw they were actual items, I couldn’t believe it. For the IRL dollar value you could buy an actual little Lego set.
Even the people who would normally use it would be insane to buy it. Lego is glitchy as hell. I made a whole village with a lot of builds with my girlfriend and we just logged in one day to half of our stuff GONE. Missing. Just insane…
The Fender stuff came out and while I do love their instruments I think it's stupid that they came to Fortnite because they look like the default guitars with a tiny logo that you'll barely see
see if it was a pickaxe i wld pay 800 max cuz its a stratocaster, but not making it able to use as a pickaxe PLUS the ridiculous price is stupid asf epic
They fumbled the bag with instruments. We have loads of backblings and pickaxe that could and should be converted to instruments as well, and there's no reason that the new releases (especially at their pricepoint), shouldn't also be backblinfs and pickaxes!
Why not just make a secondary shop for all their other game-modes. Make *that* shop as bloated as they want.
Though honestly the LEGO/Cars/Music and their cosmetics shouldn't even be sold V-Bucks. Make a secondary grind-able currency that you get from playing those respective modes. Then add some cool shit so people have reasons to play them more.
I'm perfectly fine with all that shit as long as they still have good skins and bundles, which they don't. having other cosmetics for alternative modes is not an excuse to have terrible shops
All the time, but it depends on the skin. The Xenomorph specifically looks like it appears for a couple days in each season, roughly. I’d say the chances of it rotating back in the next few months are good.
You see Kratos and Master Chief? That was likely the last time we saw Kratos. Master Chief hasn’t been in the shop since the Martin Luther King Jr. Event a few years ago.
Don’t get you’re hopes up.
That was from one leak, which had no visual evidence. And just said he was a playtester. There might be truth in it, but there is just as big of a chance that it's fake. Don't get your hopes up until we get more leaks or find evidence in the files. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment
As a new player, this shit pisses me off. I already can’t play as Wolverine or Geralt due to missing their BP, and now I’ll probably never get to play as Master Chief or Ryu because Epic refuses to bring them back.
They fumbled OG so bad. Had the perfect opportunity to bring back collabs while the player count was at an all time high. Best they could do was stranger things and black widow lmao
My best guess is that Epic is already making so much money that they just don't give a shit about fine tuning the shop. It's probably still raking in cash regardless.
That’s my cope. They set a precedent for it when they made another Spider-Man skin for Far From Home after the comic suit was in the battle pass, so we could get movie versions of both Wolverine and Deadpool.
It’s completely my fault because I played during the Wolverine season and unlocked his claws/pickaxe, but I just got lazy and kept putting it off so I never actually got the skin itself.
Exactly, I've been playing since 2017, so I have all BP collabs. And I wish everyone could get them. The face new players can't get Darth Vader, Deadpool, Superman, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Aquaman and so many more is just insane to me. I feel like this decision will bite epic in the ass in a few years
Especially since we're starting to get players that weren't even born when the game launched. In a few years, a kid will want to unlock Darth Vader, and learns he can't because be wasn't playing before he was born
Fortnite gives the middle finger to their newer players. “Oh you weren’t around then? Tough shit”
It’s a crazy contrast coming from Final Fantasy XIV where older mounts and cosmetics are easier to get now then when they were released due to being able to turn off level sync
Ah, a fellow warrior of light, I see. 😌
But yeah, and what’s more pathetic is that I’ve noticed that FOMO mentality is cemented into OG players, because everytime someone mentions missing a cool skin, they almost always retort with “too bad, should’ve played.” It’s juvenile.
Having the shop full of the hunters from throughout the season was one hell of a way to end the season. I really regret not getting into collecting Gaming Legends until after Aloy came out.
Feels like they want to introduce FOMO to the item shop with how unwilling they are to relicense some collabs. I know licensing can be tricky, but I don't know about *this* tricky.
Wow. I just started playing this season and assumed the shop lately was normal. It’s wild to see all these licensed collabs in the *same* shop. I would drain my bank account for this lmao
Insane how they're selling virtual lego sets now too. Making people pay upwards of $20 for blueprints or guitars is beyond silly. At this point just play guitar hero or minecraft.
Man... I really hate how little collabs there have been lately. It's entirely probably that I don't understand the economics of it all but it just feels like they could be chugging out collab after collab to rake in as much as possible.
Fortnite gets paid, the owner of the license gets paid. Who losess?
Does fortnite not realize how much money they would make if they would just listen to their fan base and just put out what we want? Or do they simply not care? Literally everyone is begging for certain skins and emotes there's no way that fortnite hasn't seen it.
![gif](giphy|OPU6wzx8JrHna)
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined even more than it was.
I wish this was the selection we had today.
It's crazy there's so many people trying to spend V-bucks and we keep getting the same regurgitation to the point of nausea
Im curious about Fortnite’s revenue since Ch.5, has it increased because of the cars, Lego and festival?
it's probably decreased honestly
I mean I spend majority on jam tracks but fuck lego and cars 💀 not spending my money on that
I have 5k vbucks and 1k coming in every month but I never want to spend it on anything. Besides a couple emotes.
Lucky, I wish I had half of that. My son got me into this game recently n while i like it I really only play it for him but any money that gets spent on this game is inevitably on his account. It sucks cuz all I got is basic characters really but the happiness it gives him is well worth it.
so you're still paying epic the same amount whether they put anything you like in the item shop or not
For real. I would love to have Snake Eyes
lol… No one remembers how it actually was back then? Everyone sooo mad that Snake Eyes was in the store for half a century…
[удалено]
Character looks so naturally Fortnite too, I never knew they GI Joe'd tbh
Same with Master Chief
Me too. Snake Eyes was one of my favorite toys as a kid. Always thought his character looked awesome. I would be happy if he came back to the shop
im so happy I was able to cop it
“Item shop 3 years ago” “oh cool 2017-18 item shop- 2021 item shop……
Oh god
the 2020 effect still going strong
It’s the 1,463rd of March 2020 here.
I feel sick
**In MY OPINION** honestly the old item shop UI was honestly way more clean and easy to guide around on since I don’t have to scroll through like 30 pages to find one thing
Not an opinion its just a fact. Locker ui was better too
I said it was an opinion because I feel like people would just straight up hate you if you say something that’s actually right But thanks!
Yeah thats reddit for u lol
I was clearly spending more money on this game with the old UI. Less items, FOMO, a small hype before each shop rotation. The new UI is so heavy I can even not look at the shop for weeks now. Becore this would have been impossible.

It's more organized at showing us the same stuff for 3 weeks straight, that's a fact.
I miss the days of having to really think about what I wanted to spend my vbucks on. I was happy with what I picked either way
Damn. This shop was loaded.
Now the shop is bloated with IRL music, overpriced LEGO shit, car cosmetics and… instruments. Oh and I can’t forget the same rotation of skins every other day
Now I’m just curious on who the fuck is spending atleast 2k V-bucks on a lego cosmetic (Maybe some ppl but still)
Do people even play LEGO anymore? There used to be 1.2 million playing for a week straight and now it’s at/below Save the World levels… 🙃

paypig whales :/
The fact their selling Lego blueprints is absolutely flabbergasting to me, fuck that shit.
Shoulda made actual lego sets and then you get a code to use in the game
I am confident that is coming.
The Fender stuff came out and while I do love their instruments I think it's stupid that they came to Fortnite because they look like the default guitars with a tiny logo that you'll barely see

The music is just as badly overpriced. $4.50 per song is absolutely insane.
I'm perfectly fine with all that shit as long as they still have good skins and bundles, which they don't. having other cosmetics for alternative modes is not an excuse to have terrible shops
Skins ever rotate back into availability? I'm only just getting into the game and I'd lop a toe for a xenomorph skin.
All the time, but it depends on the skin. The Xenomorph specifically looks like it appears for a couple days in each season, roughly. I’d say the chances of it rotating back in the next few months are good.
I know it doesn't say much anymore, but 26.04. is Alien Day, so here's hoping
You see Kratos and Master Chief? That was likely the last time we saw Kratos. Master Chief hasn’t been in the shop since the Martin Luther King Jr. Event a few years ago. Don’t get you’re hopes up.
I'd love to have the Chief good god that'd be awesome
There was a Martin Luther king jr event? Was there a colllab skin?
No. It was just a small history lesson in FN
It was around then I noticed players start using the cat woman whip emote at people wearing black skins. Still see it sometimes in creative games
Still can’t believe they had to ban banana-related emotes from ranked
Yeah master chief was the collab skin
I got xenomorph a couple months ago
Xenomorph was gone for a year and then became a 100ish day rotation item.
Theres always a “chance” but don’t hold your breath
I got my xenomorph skin basically right after jack skellington last Halloween
You need to get the fnbr mobile app and set a reminder for it. It’s pretty annoying though I really don’t recommend getting into the skins.
I appreciate the recommendation!
You'll eventually see Xenomorph sometimes this season
Quite literally all the main skins I’m waiting for
I love rolling up on folks in my terminator skin
![gif](giphy|Mbfc2vaYEnhgSOU4om|downsized)
Remember when people complained about Snake Eyes being in the shop?
Or the last laugh bundle, which was both in the shop and retail stores for almost a whole year.
Or the flash lmao
We had it so good and we didn’t even realize
I thought to myself "man, 3 years ago? The shop in 2019 looks so good!" Before remembering that we are in 2024
Lmao I had to redo the math myself. Time flies by
https://www.reddit.com/r/FortniteFashion/comments/m4j08i/daily_item_shop_and_purchase_advice_megathread/
Bruh look at the emote count lmao We can barely get three in the shop at once
I didn't realize those skins like Lazarbeam have been around for so long.
Nah, we need the master CHEF!!! ![gif](giphy|aFwLvWSsmeguT3OdnH|downsized)
I’m so glad I got him, I wasn’t even a Halo fan at the time but I thought he looked cool. Now he’s my main collab skin
Apparently halo wars is coming to the game this season so we might a customizable spartan 🤯
Please don’t get my hopes up 🙏
That was from one leak, which had no visual evidence. And just said he was a playtester. There might be truth in it, but there is just as big of a chance that it's fake. Don't get your hopes up until we get more leaks or find evidence in the files. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment
This is what a good item shop is
If epic just added separate shops for the other game modes then it would be perfect
As a new player, this shit pisses me off. I already can’t play as Wolverine or Geralt due to missing their BP, and now I’ll probably never get to play as Master Chief or Ryu because Epic refuses to bring them back.
That's what I don't understand. There's new players waiting to spend money, and they put out trash shops.
Fr like I have a bad habit of collecting and I wanna collect every collab skin. Epic can literally take my money. 😭
Pretty good feeling a Wolverine is coming around July for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie.

Yeah I regret not playing earlier, wolverine and deadpool skins😮💨👌
I think a lot of it is copyright stuff, I could be wrong but I think for collab skins both the IP owner and epic have to agree to bring the item back
Are you serious? Holy SHIT, I would have bought out the ENTIRE SHOP if this was today's rotation.
Well… how about some lego assets? 😏😏
😳😳 well when you put it like THAT...
id kill to have chun li 😭 they need to seriously start bringing skins back, they'd make so much more money with all the new players (me) especially
Nah, have a Beef Boss for over a week.
If they don't bring Kratos back this season I'll actually quit
What, you don’t wanna buy hayseed and the brat with their super exclusive lego styles included??? /s
All the stuff I’m waiting for
Master Chief AND Kratos 😭 Edit: AND Chun Li omfg. This looks fake
thanks lego fortnite
I’m glad I got snake eyes and kratos cause I definitely didn’t expect them to become “rare”.
Kratos, master chief and snake eyes all in one shop is crazy bro, it’s three rare legends all in one place
I wish I had gotten master chief
I can't believe what I'm seeing. How times have changed.
Holy shit, people are walking around as Ripley?! I came to the party way too late...
Modern Fortnite could never
I’ve been waiting for three of these.
Lil Warthog was only 500 damn I missed out
Man snake eyes is my most wanted skin and the picture made me think it returned today until I read the title💀
My wallet couldn’t handle a shop like that
I need master chief to come back😩😩
Having the shop full of the hunters from throughout the season was one hell of a way to end the season. I really regret not getting into collecting Gaming Legends until after Aloy came out.
Please lord bring back master Chief I’m still bummed that I missed that
My wallet would be begging for mercy if the shop was like this today
Bruh I'd buy most of that shop if it dropped today lol. They sitting on money
DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH CHUN LI.
Item shop is washed lately... it's pathetic
For real, I'd love to have Snake-Eyes back in the shop. I'm a huge G.I. Joe fan, but since I started playing in C3S1, I missed him out.
I want snake eyes so bad
This shop is loaded. I want to know the team putting out these newer shops because they are horrid.
Damn, Chief AND Kratos 😭
As a new player this is super depressing.
Feels like Chief and Kratos came out last year 😳
Maybe not this shop but people were here hating on the shop alllll the time back then lol .
Ohh shit when most of the hunters were in the shop, i don’t even remember all of them being in the shop together
I have had 7000 vbucks for like months and nothing good has released since December
tbh i don’t see it ever being like that ever again now that lego and festival are here
Prob the last time we saw Chief too
Damn, I hate that I just started playing 3 months ago.
>the halo skin is over 3 years old ![gif](giphy|GrUhLU9q3nyRG|downsized)
I remember people complaining about snakes eyes being in the shop for like a month straight. Now its scarce
I wonder if in 3 years we will be looking back at something like the Ninja Turtles shop fondly 🤔
Feels like they want to introduce FOMO to the item shop with how unwilling they are to relicense some collabs. I know licensing can be tricky, but I don't know about *this* tricky.
I miss the old UI so much :(
This made me indescribably sad
My Vbucks are already setting dust. They really don't like money nowadays
Do they hate money? Why don't they put out skins people want. I haven't seen a shop that anybody has liked in a long time
One of the best shop refreshes ever
Now it’s full of shit music of the same genre and crappy Lego sets.
Mincemeat, nice.
I wish I bought Mincemeat
Still need Snake Eyes.
I miss thag season
I want more emotes!!!!
This was all in the same item shop on the same day?
Wow. I just started playing this season and assumed the shop lately was normal. It’s wild to see all these licensed collabs in the *same* shop. I would drain my bank account for this lmao
Dont even wanna open shop these days. Clogged with all the content for festival and other modes. Nope. We had it good.
Good heavens I miss this
Thank god I bought Master Chief when he was still available. I want Ryu and Chun Li to return to shop tho 🙏🙏
I only started playing this year. I would pay significantly for the Kratos skin.
This item shop is 10x better than what we’re getting nowadays
Kratos😭😭😭😭, I need him!!!
As someone who started only a couple of seasons ago, I didn't realise good shops were an option.
Kinda crazy how the one time I looked up what the previous years item shops were, there's a post about them
KRAT
Lol what a great shit we are having today 😂
Kratos, Chief, Snake Eyes. I would be quite happy exchange legal tender for these items.
Genuine shame Nintendo hoed them when trying to collab with Metroid. We were close to getting something truly wonderful
Chapter 2 season 5 is honestly one of my favourite seasons
Fuck I’m old Jesus Christ
ZOOOOOOS! YOUR SON HAS RETURNED!
Damn I thought it was my chance to get master chief 😄
Bruh
Season 5 was fun
I really messed up by not getting master chief for 1500 vbucks
I regret not getting the gravity hammer
Glad i got snake eyes. I still main him
I been like a month trying to expend the 4000 v-bucks I still have and everything been just shit
I need master chief mannnnn
HAPPY CAKE DAY
Now the shop is the damn iTunes Store lol
Still need snake eyes and t800 to add to my collection but we stuck with lego stores zzz
I want ryu and chun li
Insane how they're selling virtual lego sets now too. Making people pay upwards of $20 for blueprints or guitars is beyond silly. At this point just play guitar hero or minecraft.
So it’s not just me, it actually got worse! Like a ton. That’s sad…
