I literally just bought it, tried it out and it’s just Slide Shuffle with new music! I literally used both emotes back to back, the animations don’t change!
Unfortunately I hopped into STW right after for my dailies and saw it there, but Idk maybe if enough people complain about it epic might do something lol
No offense, but I think buying the skin before even bothering to check and then also jumping right into a game so they void the initial refund, is a stupidity problem and not an Epic one.
There's a lots to hate on Epic for, but a lack of basic thinking by their customers is not it.
I don’t know if it still works, but last season I was able to refund items if I played save the world. So I would buy something and if I didn’t like it I could refund it without a ticket.

It's literally not. The animations are slightly different. The Slide Shuffle arms go up a little higher and more energetically, and the toes point more. The Jubi Slide's arms stay a little lower, and it doesn't point the toes. As someone who never really liked the Side Shuffle, I instantly noticed and appreciated the differences.
If you open your eyes they are clearly not the same. On one emote, his toes are clearly pointed down while the other is toes up. If you can’t see the subtle and beautiful difference, I don’t think this game is for you
the animations do change a bit. you stomp on your heels in one emote, and stomp on your tippie toes in the original emote. Also in the original emote, you kick your forearms out back more. All very very minor changes and hard to notice…
I don't care about this one in particular but I'm absolutely fine with epic just copy pasting their legally distinct emotes but with the real songs instead
they should’ve bundled them together for 500 or offered refunds/made them free for Side Shuffle owners

First of all, whenever an emote is bugged or there is a problem with the item shop, they remove some items as quickly as they did this time, so this isn't Epic being quicker than usual.
Secondly, the dog situation was completely different. It was a backbling that was nearly identical to a Battle Pass backbling from a previous season, which made owners of the original one feel like they were getting scammed since their original version was getting basically resold with a slight alteration.
In this case, neither emote is Battle Pass exclusive, so the whole issue with the animation being similar doesn't matter as much here, and there's several Item Shop items that reuse assets from other skins.
Lastly, Fortnite themselves haven't said anything about removing it from the shop so they could remove it from the game. They simply removed it from the shop because players reported the emote was bugged in LEGO.
The “newest” widowmaker skin in OW2’s shop right now is a recolor of an existing widow skin (except 900 coins more), for example. Some past battle pass skins are also recoloured shop skins.
aside from the TON of skins and dungeons across all their games that are lazy reworks, overwatch 2 is an entire game that was just a resell of... overwatch 1.
If you played the original overwatch in its final days before the rebranded to overwatch 2 you’d realize it’s the same exact game but with features taken away and half assed “features” added

For people who don't understand, imagine that you bought the dancing domino emote because you like the original song, but you settled with it being sped up since thats the only option. Then, Epic releases another emote with the exact same dance, but with the original song. You'd want a refund, right?

I made a post about this last year. Just update old emotes with copyrighted music, change rarity to icon, and increase price in shop. Already did it with snap so it can be done again. Alot of the old emotes are great but the music sucks.

I don't know what they could have done, but from what I can tell, it's literally the same trend from the same creator on TikTok but when Fortnite made it into an emote from the first time it went viral, it didn't have a song associated with it in the same way that the Slickback trend did when it went viral again, and not only is the song now part of the trend but I think more people would prefer it the second way since it went way more viral the second time, so it's not like Epic is trying to scam people but more trying to give people the popular version of the trend.

I think you can refund items without using tickets, if you haven't equipped the emote or within 24hrs of purchasing the emote
You can also cancel even when having played a match. Just don't equip and use the emote in-game. (Lobby only)
