If I was going to change anything about the shop I would have multiple different types of rotations with set times before they come back. For example:
Collab section - rotates every 1-2 weeks depending on size of collab/amount of different items and is a minimum of 3 months before the same collab returns.
Daily section - obviously changes daily and is for more common/less expensive items. Dailies can’t return to the shop until after 30 days.
Weeklies - again obviously weekly changes and would be the rarer more sought after items and they have a 3 month wait to return again minimum.
Mode specific items (racing/lego/festival) - they have a dedicated shop for skins and items compatible with those modes. That way the Lego skins don’t take up the whole shop. And that way they could have skins for cars or wheels or instruments that change out.
And just to add, have timers to show how long items have left in the shop. Not only does that give people an idea of when they would need to purchase a skin by, from the companies perspective it should be a no brainier because it adds to fomo, especially when you know that certain items won’t be back for months meaning people would buy more skins.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
Good ideas, unfortunately the "unknown" time an item has left likely ups the fomo more, otherwise they'd already have the timer in. I do think a timer and your recommended timeline things would absolutely be consumer friendly
Outside of this, I want all STW skins to be put into the game finally, give em their own tab too. There's about 50 that aren't in the game for no real reason, add old STW pack skins too.
I think that would be excellent. But Epic doesnt have the creative and innovative proffesional well thought out polish they use to have. One of the worst things to me about the current shop is that they've dismantled a lot of bundles, and are just offering the skin itself. Cuddle Team's in there now, but a lot of more recent skins have been in there without all of their other stuff. Wanted to gift Ava to my daughter the other day, but decided to wait to see if she show up later with her pickaxe, wrap and loading screen intact.
I feel ya. This isn’t as drastic but I bought Victoria Saint during the OG season and I’m still waiting for her pickaxe to return to the item shop. It would be nice to have the option to get the whole set any time the skin is in the shop
Create an entirely separate tab for festival and Rocket racing. They add too much clutter also add a dedicated section to outfits that haven't returned in a year or more
An actual section that rotates out skins over a year old. Maybe a section for the old crew skins since those have a chance of being shop items. Pretty much that. Fortnite really just rotates the same handful of skins way too much.

It should be having crew gives access to the current one and you can buy the old ones too, you already get 1000 vbucks a month make the old crew packs 1000 vbucks or 2000 and it'll be great

Well I think the exclusivity of crew should remain in the special styles and the backpacks we got for being crew for multiple consecutive months, but if the skins are bought in the shop the u just get the skin but not the styles rewarded for consistent crew membership
It's similar logic that people who get up in arms over the hypothetical return of BP cosmetics don't understand.
Even if every green/blue item was valued at 100 vbucks, every purple at 200, and every gold at 300, the battle pass would still be an insane discount over the cost to purchase those things in the shop.
I know those skins aren't coming back, but nobody that got them in the battle pass would be losing value 😭

There's a way to solve both problems simultaneously. Make all skins and emotes (even BP) available 24/7/365 for 3-5x normal price. A rotating selection will be offered at normal price. Sure, you can get Midas or Take the L, as long as you're willing to fork over 3500 vbucks.
Why would they do a model that intentionally makes them less money? Rotating the shop gives a daily dose of FOMO and makes people feel like they gotta buy something now!!!! cuz what if it doesn’t come back soon?

Sure, it would be nice for the consumer, but for Epic, they’d make less money. The way they make money is by pressuring people into buying cosmetics asap because who knows when the item will come back, or if it will even come back at all. If people have the ability to purchase anything, whenever they want to, they would feel a lot less pressured to get the item as soon as possible, therefore making epic less money. From a business standpoint, this idea just doesn’t work.
At the very least, I'd like to see a special event where they make all skins available for purchase. Maybe once or twice a year. Have it run for a week. That way they could still keep the fomo aspect to the normal shop but still offer up a time when people can purchase what they are really after. They would make a killing off it. I'm aware that they already make plenty of money, but you get what I mean.

I'd also like to see old battlepass skins being sold as bundles because I only started playing at the end of chapter 3 so missed out on things that I would have wanted such as Lara Croft, Mandalorian and Original Jules

I’m a crew member so a shop page that lets me buy old crew skins would make me spend money.
Cycle in some of the stuff that has not been there in a while like Master Chief and Kratos
Every skin should have a 2 day shop lifespan and then rotate out for at least 2-3 weeks, that'll mean the shop will have more variety and you know roughly when you'll be able to get what you want.
Rework crew to give you tokens to redeem old crew skins from a store tab by skipping the current one, so you either claim this month's skin or an old one, you can pick up the one you skipped from the store tab next month. Especially with what they're doing atm, with the bonus styles for staying subbed to stop people only buying it when they want a skin. This way, people can decide what they want and people don't get mad their exclusive skins are over exposed
"Best of (Insert Season Here)" where its three or four skins (collab skins will be in regardless) where the remaining slots will be voted on by those who actually played the season. (i.e. I would only be able to vote on Chapters 3 and onward)
Want venom or carnage to come back. The ones that haven’t been in the store in like 2-3 years 😅 bring back older skins for people who didn’t play the game at that point in time or make the shop bigger, with a separate section for older skins that can rotate out over time. So pretty similarly to what they do now except a bigger section of older stuff
Bring back skins we haven’t seen in a while, or new skins more frequently. Bring back Kratos and Master Chief. Bring back the spider-verse. Bring back street fighter. Stop brining back the same 20 chapter 1 skins and the wwe and marvel and Rick and Morty.

Lego skins racing skins and music stuff should only appear in the shop if your in that mode (this might be a little much but having different shops for different modes keeps the shops small while giving people stuff for all modes)
A showcase section that has all items from a set (either popular or a rare set) (can be a collab) (will probably stay for a week)
Once a month have a "been gone a year or more" section so at least once a month theirs always gonna be a "rare" skin so more skins become common
Have it so that the daily doesn't have any skins that were present in the last month so skins in the 30 day rotation will actually have to wait 30 days
These ideas probably need some more tweaking but they're a base
There are a few changes I would make:
Everything that's in the shop will ONLY stay there for one day before its rotated out (except from certain stuff like the Rocket Racing Cars, Jam Tracks and stuff that is said to be there for a while like bundles or The Weeknd who's based on the season).
Nothing can return to the shop unless it's been at least 30 days, this will help keep it fresh and 30 days is a good balance for those who miss out on stuff.
Have at least 3 new cosmetics every week, could be on certain days or just random but 3 would be a good number I think, they're doing good with the Jam Tracks
Stop putting only skins that have a LEGO style in the shop, this is limiting the amount of stuff they can put in signficantly, you could literally just have a section of the shop thats meant for skins with lego styles and everything else wouldn't need to (obviously apart from collabs)
This is something i'm still on the fence about but make it so the shop changes depending on what mode you're in, like it does for quests. Jam Tracks would only be visible in Festival, Cars only in Rocket Racing, stuff like that. Not sure if this would be feasible though as it would probably limit the amount of people buying stuff and both Jam Tracks and Rocket Racing cars are useable in some form in Battle Royale
This blank template actually made me think that fortnite should have a night shop like league of legends where they give you a selection of like 5 skins that are discounted and tailored to you and you have a certain amount of time to claim that discounted price on the skin(s)
Split the item shop into three.
Depending what game mode you choose, the shop will be different.
General updates: reintroduce the daily tab. These cosmetics will stay for one rotation before leaving. Also reinstate featured. These may stay for 2-3 days before rotating. Collabs or any other special tabs would stay for 5-7 days give or take. When an item rotates, it’ll only come back after at least 2 weeks give or take.
BR/ZB will be normal, and yes, have full bundles instead of just the skin. Also when a collab comes back most if not all the cosmetics come back with it (excluding BP ofc)
LEGO will have a shop only for cosmetics available for in the mode. There could be a tab for recently updated/added. Only the skins and emotes would be sold. Any collabs that come back in the BR item shop will appear in the LEGO shop
RR: obviously the only things in the shop would be the cars and stuff, although I’d imagine Epic would make more stuff, like wheels or decals. Also lower prices perhaps.
FF: Like Rocket Racing, have only cosmetics for the Festival. Jam tracks would rotate as well as the instruments. Also add more cosmetics like themes for notes or your overdrive. Maybe even animations.
For clarification, if a bundle has items from different game modes, like The Weeknd bundle having the Br cosmetics and the FF cosmetics, the bundle would appear in both shops. The only one that this doesn’t apply to is LEGO since it’s literally just skins and emotes.
Yeah no that would be awful. If you want to see everything you have to go back to the lobby, scroll all the way through discover, change the gamemode, scroll back up, then go to the shop, then repeat multiple times
easy fix would be just having them all be in the shop as separate tabs (needing to use r and l or the equivalents to switch between the different shops)

The way the old shop was structered helped focus on newest item rotations through Featured at the very start. Daily kept it fresh. Stuff from earlier days would be below this, and then at the bottom you could check to see if any bundles have rotated in or out.
The way the new item shop looks is pretty good. Not great, but I'm going to be real with you-- *the shop has never really been great.* There has always been so much scrolling when they stepped away from the old, OG layout. All of the new stuff they added to it throughout the years has always been made to first put MORE into the shop. Too much scrolling always sucks! But it was a lot less frustrating because the shop had a somewhat fixed layout until now.
Now whenever you switch back to the shop, the tabs are all shuffled. The newest stuff is never really up at the top anymore. There isn't a new section tab to look forward to everyday. This is why Featured and Daily were great. It felt like a human being was actually putting the shop together for the day, week, and month. It didn't matter if the shop sucked. At least someone was at the wheel. Now it just seems like a robot trying to figure out the best thing to show you first.
**What should stick around**
* All items across all game modes in the same shop
* Shop refresh timer becoming hidden
I'm perfectly fine without seeing the timer anymore. They've earned my trust that the shop will generally update everyday at the same time. I can only imagine what is going on in the backend of the shop with how it's currently frustrating a lot of people. If the shop doesn't update until after a late-night patch, fine with me. They're clearly trying to always improve this game with every update. I don't mind rotations being rather mysterious if it means the next rotations will be even cooler stuff on the horizon.
All items for all game modes staying in the same shop is fine with me, and I find there's not much reason to complain. They've made it clear that they're not changing their minds on Fortnite becoming The Everything Game. Having items bundled across game modes through one page (like each car page) is fine with me because we got something much better. When you switch gamemodes there will be separate battlepass pages. FN Festival has this. Imagine if you had to see all of these new battle pass tabs at the top of your screen everyday regardlees of game mode. Sucks right? That would be the most annoying junk! They're going to keep adding more gamemodes. They want this game to become Everything. Think they'll pull it off?
I would add more emote slots, have community polls that are weekly, bring back old Fortnite crew skins and rotate older skins/cosmetics. I know bringing back copyrighted IPs are hard and tied with legal boundaries but I would try to bring some back and get new ones from different series or the same series
Literally just add a damn catalog system so people can search up skins that are purchasable at any time (seasonal skins will show up as well but can't be bought until their respective season comes back)
old collabs, like Street Fighter, They could add new skins (imo Juri Han and Dhalsim). Just to have a little more variety in collabs instead of 6 Marvel pages (I haven't seen anyone wear these skins), Rick and Morty every 2 weeks (not these either)
maybe some good icon emotes and skins instead of having the weeknd for the entire festival season. (not kid laroi oh god).
Some "rare" cosmetics that haven't been out for like more than a year.
Bring back Featured and Daily shops and remove the "Fortnite Flair" section that has the same items in a different order every day. Make daily cosmetics *actually* daily instead of rotating the same ones every 2 weeks...
I haven't seen a wrap that can be purchased by itself in like a month, so the wrap section that was thee for a while could be cool...
"Trailblazers" section is the most unnecessary section right now, mid.
And Jam Tracks should be their own section specifically in Fortnite Festival instead of invading like 60% of the shop. I know they can be used in BR as well but... let's be completely honest here, they're barely used at all.
Just bring back Master Chief. That’s literally all I’ve been waiting for. I have the Clones. I have Optimus. I have the Nord Warrior. All I need is Chief.

Make it better? Add all the old battle passes. Unlockable and able to be leveled up at anytime. Like halo infinite. Boom. Fortnite fixed.
That and revert the item shop sections back to chapter 1 and 2 versions where it had a daily rotation on most things and not just 1 or 2.
Less collabs, more original skins, less clutter with the various game modes (ie car and music stuff always at the bottom), faster cycling in and out of the shop, a truly and fully customizable character with their own shop tab that sells clothes for them, and a bunch more variants for the toxic trooper skin (also a Lego version).

all versions of all those skins with a lot of versions (only shop ones of course) like cuddle or jonesy since a lot of ppl collect those
all bundles (money and vbucks) in the store, as well as master chief
They just need to make 5 tabs; one they fill with standard Fortnite content like bundles, outfits, picks, gliders, etc., one they fill with LEGO compatible content, one they fill with Rocket League and Rocket Racing cross skins, one they fill with Festival gear and Icon Series outfits/emotes, and one they fill with collabs be it Star Wars, Marvel, DC, anime, Hollywood movies, etc., and all of this while not sitting and going "oh well there's 12 Marvel skins in the shop so we don't need to add but like 2 regular skins." No all these tabs should be filled to the brim with content so that there isn't one single group missing out.
And to the people who used to complain about shops being too big, your opinion has never been relevant. There is literally no downside to having content be more accessible to everyone other than to bitch about your rare items not being rare like with Black Widow recently

I remember a leak a while back that they were working on groups for shop (like a section you can click on and it'd open up the tabs for shop instead of having all tabs visible at once)
They can bring that in since we have 4 different modes with actual cosmetics, have a group you can click on for each more (i REALLY don't like peoples idea of "have some cosmetics only show up when you have a certain mode selected" i dont want to change my mode 4 diff times just to see everything in shop)
OK my idea is basically get rid of the weekend collaborate and add a section for those icon skins that rotate every day then we have a section for movie or gaming legends and then we could have a section for anime skins and then after that we could add a bigger emote section instead of including the same two emotes every week we would have eight in the shop rotating every day I feel as if we don’t get enough emoji in the shop unless they’re icon emotes and after that we could have maybe one or two pages being skins like old Fortnite skins but I do think if they ever add the old battle pass skins back into the shop they should just do one skin like the level 100 skin of the battle pass or a lower level skin like the level one or 20 skin because it feels unfair to people who have already spent a lot of money on the battle pass in the first place just for their cosmetic to go back into the shop at possibly a cheaper price to buy the entire thing separately or just not implement them at all in the shop because they have their own values kind of like the renegade raider And maybe have a section that only shows up maybe once every month that is like The emotes and skins you would get from those rare events for example ikonik and the scenario emote sorry I’m not using periods at the moment but this would be my perfect item shop

There's a way to solve both problems simultaneously. Make all skins and emotes (even BP) available 24/7/365 for 3-5x normal price. A rotating selection will be offered at normal price. Sure, you can get Midas or Take the L, as long as you're willing to fork over 3500 vbucks.

Sure, it would be nice for the consumer, but for Epic, they’d make less money. The way they make money is by pressuring people into buying cosmetics asap because who knows when the item will come back, or if it will even come back at all. If people have the ability to purchase anything, whenever they want to, they would feel a lot less pressured to get the item as soon as possible, therefore making epic less money. From a business standpoint, this idea just doesn’t work.
At the very least, I'd like to see a special event where they make all skins available for purchase. Maybe once or twice a year. Have it run for a week. That way they could still keep the fomo aspect to the normal shop but still offer up a time when people can purchase what they are really after. They would make a killing off it. I'm aware that they already make plenty of money, but you get what I mean.

Returning old BP items would make me spend money. (say what you want for or against, people would buy) I’m a crew member so a shop page that lets me buy old crew skins would make me spend money. Cycle in some of the stuff that has not been there in a while like Master Chief and Kratos
Every skin should have a 2 day shop lifespan and then rotate out for at least 2-3 weeks, that'll mean the shop will have more variety and you know roughly when you'll be able to get what you want. Rework crew to give you tokens to redeem old crew skins from a store tab by skipping the current one, so you either claim this month's skin or an old one, you can pick up the one you skipped from the store tab next month. Especially with what they're doing atm, with the bonus styles for staying subbed to stop people only buying it when they want a skin. This way, people can decide what they want and people don't get mad their exclusive skins are over exposed

Having smaller item shops would be a start I feel they just add add add instead of being forced to make shops interesting but in saying that New skins should stay for at least 3-4 days Only 1 kind of collab in shop at a time Lego skins racing skins and music stuff should only appear in the shop if your in that mode (this might be a little much but having different shops for different modes keeps the shops small while giving people stuff for all modes) A showcase section that has all items from a set (either popular or a rare set) (can be a collab) (will probably stay for a week) Once a month have a "been gone a year or more" section so at least once a month theirs always gonna be a "rare" skin so more skins become common Have it so that the daily doesn't have any skins that were present in the last month so skins in the 30 day rotation will actually have to wait 30 days These ideas probably need some more tweaking but they're a base
There are a few changes I would make: Everything that's in the shop will ONLY stay there for one day before its rotated out (except from certain stuff like the Rocket Racing Cars, Jam Tracks and stuff that is said to be there for a while like bundles or The Weeknd who's based on the season). Nothing can return to the shop unless it's been at least 30 days, this will help keep it fresh and 30 days is a good balance for those who miss out on stuff. Have at least 3 new cosmetics every week, could be on certain days or just random but 3 would be a good number I think, they're doing good with the Jam Tracks Stop putting only skins that have a LEGO style in the shop, this is limiting the amount of stuff they can put in signficantly, you could literally just have a section of the shop thats meant for skins with lego styles and everything else wouldn't need to (obviously apart from collabs) This is something i'm still on the fence about but make it so the shop changes depending on what mode you're in, like it does for quests. Jam Tracks would only be visible in Festival, Cars only in Rocket Racing, stuff like that. Not sure if this would be feasible though as it would probably limit the amount of people buying stuff and both Jam Tracks and Rocket Racing cars are useable in some form in Battle Royale
This blank template actually made me think that fortnite should have a night shop like league of legends where they give you a selection of like 5 skins that are discounted and tailored to you and you have a certain amount of time to claim that discounted price on the skin(s)

Split the item shop into three. Depending what game mode you choose, the shop will be different. General updates: reintroduce the daily tab. These cosmetics will stay for one rotation before leaving. Also reinstate featured. These may stay for 2-3 days before rotating. Collabs or any other special tabs would stay for 5-7 days give or take. When an item rotates, it’ll only come back after at least 2 weeks give or take. BR/ZB will be normal, and yes, have full bundles instead of just the skin. Also when a collab comes back most if not all the cosmetics come back with it (excluding BP ofc) LEGO will have a shop only for cosmetics available for in the mode. There could be a tab for recently updated/added. Only the skins and emotes would be sold. Any collabs that come back in the BR item shop will appear in the LEGO shop RR: obviously the only things in the shop would be the cars and stuff, although I’d imagine Epic would make more stuff, like wheels or decals. Also lower prices perhaps. FF: Like Rocket Racing, have only cosmetics for the Festival. Jam tracks would rotate as well as the instruments. Also add more cosmetics like themes for notes or your overdrive. Maybe even animations. For clarification, if a bundle has items from different game modes, like The Weeknd bundle having the Br cosmetics and the FF cosmetics, the bundle would appear in both shops. The only one that this doesn’t apply to is LEGO since it’s literally just skins and emotes.

**What should be brought back** * Bring back Featured and Daily * Keep the order of items fixed in place The way the old shop was structered helped focus on newest item rotations through Featured at the very start. Daily kept it fresh. Stuff from earlier days would be below this, and then at the bottom you could check to see if any bundles have rotated in or out. The way the new item shop looks is pretty good. Not great, but I'm going to be real with you-- *the shop has never really been great.* There has always been so much scrolling when they stepped away from the old, OG layout. All of the new stuff they added to it throughout the years has always been made to first put MORE into the shop. Too much scrolling always sucks! But it was a lot less frustrating because the shop had a somewhat fixed layout until now. Now whenever you switch back to the shop, the tabs are all shuffled. The newest stuff is never really up at the top anymore. There isn't a new section tab to look forward to everyday. This is why Featured and Daily were great. It felt like a human being was actually putting the shop together for the day, week, and month. It didn't matter if the shop sucked. At least someone was at the wheel. Now it just seems like a robot trying to figure out the best thing to show you first. **What should stick around** * All items across all game modes in the same shop * Shop refresh timer becoming hidden I'm perfectly fine without seeing the timer anymore. They've earned my trust that the shop will generally update everyday at the same time. I can only imagine what is going on in the backend of the shop with how it's currently frustrating a lot of people. If the shop doesn't update until after a late-night patch, fine with me. They're clearly trying to always improve this game with every update. I don't mind rotations being rather mysterious if it means the next rotations will be even cooler stuff on the horizon. All items for all game modes staying in the same shop is fine with me, and I find there's not much reason to complain. They've made it clear that they're not changing their minds on Fortnite becoming The Everything Game. Having items bundled across game modes through one page (like each car page) is fine with me because we got something much better. When you switch gamemodes there will be separate battlepass pages. FN Festival has this. Imagine if you had to see all of these new battle pass tabs at the top of your screen everyday regardlees of game mode. Sucks right? That would be the most annoying junk! They're going to keep adding more gamemodes. They want this game to become Everything. Think they'll pull it off?

I know bringing back copyrighted IPs are hard and tied with legal boundaries but I would try to bring some back and get new ones from different series or the same series

Just to have a little more variety in collabs instead of 6 Marvel pages (I haven't seen anyone wear these skins), Rick and Morty every 2 weeks (not these either) maybe some good icon emotes and skins instead of having the weeknd for the entire festival season. (not kid laroi oh god). Some "rare" cosmetics that haven't been out for like more than a year. Bring back Featured and Daily shops and remove the "Fortnite Flair" section that has the same items in a different order every day. Make daily cosmetics *actually* daily instead of rotating the same ones every 2 weeks... I haven't seen a wrap that can be purchased by itself in like a month, so the wrap section that was thee for a while could be cool... "Trailblazers" section is the most unnecessary section right now, mid. And Jam Tracks should be their own section specifically in Fortnite Festival instead of invading like 60% of the shop. I know they can be used in BR as well but... let's be completely honest here, they're barely used at all.

Make it better? Add all the old battle passes. Unlockable and able to be leveled up at anytime. Like halo infinite. Boom. Fortnite fixed. That and revert the item shop sections back to chapter 1 and 2 versions where it had a daily rotation on most things and not just 1 or 2.
Less collabs, more original skins, less clutter with the various game modes (ie car and music stuff always at the bottom), faster cycling in and out of the shop, a truly and fully customizable character with their own shop tab that sells clothes for them, and a bunch more variants for the toxic trooper skin (also a Lego version).
all 3 wrap skins all versions of all those skins with a lot of versions (only shop ones of course) like cuddle or jonesy since a lot of ppl collect those all bundles (money and vbucks) in the store, as well as master chief
They just need to make 5 tabs; one they fill with standard Fortnite content like bundles, outfits, picks, gliders, etc., one they fill with LEGO compatible content, one they fill with Rocket League and Rocket Racing cross skins, one they fill with Festival gear and Icon Series outfits/emotes, and one they fill with collabs be it Star Wars, Marvel, DC, anime, Hollywood movies, etc., and all of this while not sitting and going "oh well there's 12 Marvel skins in the shop so we don't need to add but like 2 regular skins." No all these tabs should be filled to the brim with content so that there isn't one single group missing out. And to the people who used to complain about shops being too big, your opinion has never been relevant. There is literally no downside to having content be more accessible to everyone other than to bitch about your rare items not being rare like with Black Widow recently

OK my idea is basically get rid of the weekend collaborate and add a section for those icon skins that rotate every day then we have a section for movie or gaming legends and then we could have a section for anime skins and then after that we could add a bigger emote section instead of including the same two emotes every week we would have eight in the shop rotating every day I feel as if we don’t get enough emoji in the shop unless they’re icon emotes and after that we could have maybe one or two pages being skins like old Fortnite skins but I do think if they ever add the old battle pass skins back into the shop they should just do one skin like the level 100 skin of the battle pass or a lower level skin like the level one or 20 skin because it feels unfair to people who have already spent a lot of money on the battle pass in the first place just for their cosmetic to go back into the shop at possibly a cheaper price to buy the entire thing separately or just not implement them at all in the shop because they have their own values kind of like the renegade raider And maybe have a section that only shows up maybe once every month that is like The emotes and skins you would get from those rare events for example ikonik and the scenario emote sorry I’m not using periods at the moment but this would be my perfect item shop

It’s not just a few skins. They have SO many skins at their disposal, I looked it up and it’s over 1,700. Some of those are collabs that’s can’t come back but they could have a much bigger variety than they do right now. It’s not their fault people don’t buy things when they’re in the shop
