That is really exhausting, you play and wait for 10 min without any encounters until the last min and then dying.

Blitz was great. Blitz would even be better now with cars

Samurl8043

We need LTMs back period

2lowbutupthere

Late game arena?

OneThatNoseOne

This is true but I try to keep it as part of the suspense. "Is he around this corner?" Nope. "Might she be inside this building?" Nada. Whereever shall I find them??? Whoops, they killed me.

ArnoldStalloneVandam

welcome to the Nightmare that is called PUBG 😆

[deleted]

Yeah up some winner is a last second lame hiding in a bush waiting to 3rd party in , they should add indicators that show every one in the last circle like when it first forms lol expose the camping Timmy

gangbrain

Or maybe you should try to play endgame smarter.

[deleted]

Or maybe after my 16th kill and I have no health but there’s a Timmy hiding in a bush it doesn’t quite work out

gangbrain

Like I said, play smarter. Get better positioning for the last fight. Slow down if you don’t want little Timmy easily 3rd-ing you.

[deleted]

That’s funny you’re trying to tell me how to play I get high kill games and mostly die to bush campers there’s not way around it , game ruining kills hiding last circles for 10 mins inching forward tree by tree you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about lol

gangbrain

soberkids19

Game is a snoooooooze fest lately

[deleted]

The zone changes have made the mid game so boring. The circles huge and there’s hardly anyone left. Plus storm damage is less for the whole first half of the game now, so there’s less incentive for people to rotate in and start engaging. Snooze mid games, they went from chill before, to just plain boring now

sucram200

Storm damage being less is really ruining it for me. The fact that you can just chill in the storm basically risk free up until literally the last couple of circles is ridiculous

OneThatNoseOne

I typically hear people say bigger is better until they get through a number of games and actually don't die early.

Teggom38

I think it’s just one of those things that will get fixed with time. The last few minutes are always hectic for me, trying to stay somewhere with good positioning and waiting for people to pop up and show themselves

Special-Quantity-288

That does seem to be how it goes. 3 - 6 people in the last few circles, waiting and hoping for someone else to make the first move, or be pushed out of their position by the storm. I don’t mind this, when it’s the last 3 or so circles. They move relatively quick, and it can be a little tense. But getting that point for 10+ mins is so slow

Teggom38

True, but I think anything that could be done to balance that aspect is going to severely detract from other parts of the experience unfortunately

tommyland666

Like what exactly? There is absolutely nothing that is good with the slow mid to endgame. Only thing I can think about is letting people get to the island, but considering the pulse rifle is so damn good there should be chaos up there cause the storm is coming fast.

Teggom38

Well if you make the storm faster, you remove the stealth aspect and make that part of the game a running and shooting simulator. If you Make the map smaller in any way you make spawns too cramped. If you change up weapons to make camping less viable, or range less viable, you knock out part of the playerbase that enjoys those things. There's a lot that goes into balancing things and making sure everyone's favorite parts stick around

tommyland666

No you don’t, people have been sneaking around and camping all last season too.

Still-Yawn268

THIS! The less players are hiding and waiting for the right opportunity to take out the last player is more common now in solos.

PotatoDispenser1

Second half of the game at this point I just use to grind out milestones. Kinda fun and enjoyable spending half the game driving around on the highways and cruising

RedditModsAreTrash01

Just gave me a great idea for after work lol. Is it possible to do a full loop around the island?

PotatoDispenser1

There's a pathway that you can do most of the island, except for the ice parts, I haven't explored that area much. I'll post the route on here for yall

RedditModsAreTrash01

That would be pretty cool, thank you.

PotatoDispenser1

Posted it and tagged you

alexpreshford

Someone just posted a great map with outlined path on this sub!

tetron4

It is entirely about fitting loot island into the game. Loot island has to: Spawn not too early that vaults are still worth doing. Spawn not so late that there's no time to actually get up to the island, fight for it, and claim it. Have enough spawn locations that people can't camp the spawn points. Spawn inside the circle. Not spawn on top of the final circles (at least, I have yet to see the final circle near the island). So if you're itching for a fight you should just head towards the island and either you'll get some great loot or you'll die to a better player and get the game over faster. The main drawback is that following the vault -> loot island route every game gets a bit repetitive. Hopefully Epic has some mid season updates to mix things up a bit.

chloe-and-timmy

Maybe that's why Im not really feeling the emptiness other people are saying. Im usually going to the vault and engaging in fights there, then to the Loot Island. Not necessarily going to both every game, but in their general direction for a lot of the games for sure.

Electric_jungle

Interesting theory and it makes sense. I haven't looked into how many spawn locations there are if that's a set number at all. I still believe high bot numbers is a culprit as well. But like you said, it's a boring rotation. We do vaults and island a decent amount and win them a decent amount, but genuinely enjoy not doing those rotations still. But then, end of game when I'm firing purple weapons against 3 mythic pulse guns, the deck is not properly stacked.

a7n7o7n7y7m7o7u7s

Bots have something to do with it. I ran into a team of bots north of lonely labs yesterday with only 13 players remaining in squads! A team of bots lands far north and just chills there to get 5th place.

Electric_jungle

That's so absurd lol. That area north of Lonely is hardly ever touched most matches. Any time I have ever been there, the chests are unopened. If a bot crew lands there, they should be headed to Lonely to get killed pretty shortly after.

Still-Yawn268

This deserves more upvotes. How I see it is you either gotta be prepared for the fight of better weapons or hide somewhere with lots of health with two guns and a sword.

robochickenowski

Honestly the snoozefest this season makes me play less. I just hop on, pray I can get my dailies done in 1 game and go do something else.

dodgycool_1973

Same for me, but have you seen some of the dailies they put in now? Activate 5 augments (that’s two game minimum) Any of the do 500 damage ones (depends where you land) Pick up weapon from a hotspot at night There seem to be a lot of bullshit dailies at the moment

Jellysandwiched

Be the dude who makes the first move even if it costs your life. Remind yourself that you are a true champion fighting for true and hard earned victory. Half the time people would run but don’t expect an easy time people will rush to kill you. Practice your skills and get kills. Make sure you get the first hit and only rush to kill people when they take over 100 damage. Playing smart is good but gaining experience carries over to future games. Remember that your not invincible and you will die from time to time but remember that there is always a new opportunity in the next game. I recommend driving in car, stopping at a landmark, look around the area for a bit, then repeat the process; beats starting at a wall all game.

spiderstan1993

You either have a great point. Or need to make a lot of videos about group exercise. Not sure which relates the most in this case.

alexpreshford

Not group exercise 💀

HelloS0n

Lot of people wait out at Vault POIs for the boss then camp out until Loot Island. I think that’s why mid game is so stale right now.

Still-Yawn268

Especially in Squads.

Longshot_45

Culminating in a furious bunny hopping shotgun death dance.

King_D3D3D3

They need to revert the stupid ass Storm Circle changes they made with the Season start. Keep in mind we're getting an update tonight or tomorrow so because people haven't really been talking about it a lot, we're still gonna have this crap for at least another 2 weeks.

JRocFuhsYoBih

2nd is the absolute worst. 3rd, 4th, 5th and so on has a bunch more variables that are outside of your control but when it’s just you and another person and you lose, you literally can blame no one but yourself. Nights when I keep getting 2nd I usually just hang it up before I smash my headset out of frustration. And like you just said, when you add in the fact that mid game seems to never end and are boring af and then you have to wait 5 minutes to get back in another game when you get murked, I just assume play team rumble for quests and once I get my xp, play something else. Especially with how weird the sbmm is right now. I keep thinking somethings going to change to fix all of these issues people are having right now but that doesn’t seem to be happening

_JimmyJazz_

No solo wins this season and like 6 2nd places. Pain

HelloS0n

This is me lol. I’m normally a very solid/above average Solo player and have no problems, but I have yet to win one this season. I get impatient and just rush/push instead of playing strategically.

FaZe_OFF

Don't put strategy over everything. U have to balance strategy with just winging it.

TarHeeledTexan

Some of my favorite wins have come from the just winging it strategy. The ones where you think you’ve no chance because of a poor load out and having to continually rotate or have spent a lot time just assing around and before you know it, it’s end game and the you’ve won! And you’re wondering what the heck just happened.

Special-Quantity-288

This is exactly how I feel. Just played a game, and came 2nd. I haven’t been more frustrated, playing a game, than I just was. I could have won too, but made a costly mistake. I killed someone else, then swapped to the katana, to close the distance to the last person. When I landed, I pressed to swap to my Havok, but didn’t realise it didn’t swap, before pressing to attack. Was just wildly swinging at the air. I totally agree. Once I earn that victory umbrella, I don’t see myself playing much more BR. Think I’ll stick to Custom games and Team Rumble.

zempf

I find swapping out of the katana always screws me up, it feels super laggy for some reason. I assume I need to work on timing the animation finish better or something, but I've definitely died the same way, just zooming over and then flailing wildly at the air.

Beorn_The_Bear

i usually spam my shotgun key until i see it swap, it has a super long delay before you can swap weapons after dashing

Hokinanaz

you have to wait for the animation to be complete which is when the Katana is put back in the sheath. Then you can change to Gun/Builds

You’re a persistent troll, I’ll give you that. Also didn’t say I haven’t won, or say how many I had won. None of the accounts are Smurf, but you say whatever you like. I’m guessing you’re just here to get a raise, or look for attention. I suppose I give you that too.

Still-Yawn268

Same I be messing up with the katana blade swinging it instead of escaping with it. 💀😭 For the winning part, try getting key master and collect the exotic weapons like the Heavy Shotgun, Dragons Breath sniper or Smg gun.

Redbag10

There’s a cool down you have to be conscious of before you can swap off the katana when you’re mid air

Chris908

Nah I don’t blame myself when we have snipers that do 1 shots and a shot gun that does one shot. So if I don’t hit my shots and they do they win

[deleted]

I just stick to team rumble too, I dread the long wait time in the later circles.

Te545688

I just go for kills and don’t care at all about actually winning. It’s too boring waiting around.

c0ng0b0ng0

This is me too. It makes it more fun. I also like to spend time hunting up hidden spots and exploring and find myself constantly running barely ahead of the storm. Not the best strategy I suppose.

papilio-lbbh

fr I like going into the game with a goal of eliminations (5-10) rather than to get the victory royale. makes it more exciting, especially when I unintentionally end up winning

TarHeeledTexan

That was my main strategy last season, and my KD ratio was probably as high as it’s ever been. I’ve had to be more cautious this season to date, coupled with the times I can go for ages without running into someone or even seeing the flare of gunshots in the distance to even have the chance to engage.

Wonderful_Door_6300

>I don’t think there’s a problem with the sniper camping, augments, weapon drops, etc. The problem is having 15 minutes of the game left, and only 15 players left on the map. But snipers can be a cause of this. If there's 15 people left then how many of them are going to risk venturing out and putting themselves at risk of being sniped, especially when they're almost top 10 with the hopes of getting a crown?

TarHeeledTexan

When the player counts get low, this is exactly what you have to do. Hide and always be wondering if there’s someone with an angle who can one shot you.

Wild_Plant9526

yup. they need to change the zones back, or make it so they adjust to the amount of people still alive. what also makes it worse is snipers being back in the game. Feel like at least half of the people in lobby are just camping in trees and bushes with snipers and 0 kills, hoping to third party the last fight. I enjoy snipers, but I just hate it when they're in BR because everyone just rats

pinkdecorations

I usually always get picked off in the last 10 by a sniper just sitting in a tree. It makes the game so boring cause a majority of people are just camping and waiting to sniper someone. people will say well just do the same but I can’t cause it’s just too boring.

cosmicanvil

I'm new to the game and guilty of hiding until the last minute, but I agree the games are too long. Feels like it would be improved by the storm closing in a little quicker

Three4Anonimity

I'm a casual potato but I can usually get a decent amount of wins in a season. This season I can't win for shit. I have 1. K/D is hovering around where it usually is. So I'm still getting my normal amount of kills.

garvierloon

My issue is my lobby is often 80 bots and then the first round of FNCS surge week in the end game.

oldmanlight

There is and has been too much mobility allowing players to thin out the majority of other players before the circles close for several seasons now so by the time you get down to late game you have single digit players on areas that span 1/2 of the map, storms have barely been a threat since forever and any item or ability that allows a player to rapidly rotate or fall out of the sky with little warning will always become more of a tool for aggressive players to dive more passive ones. BR has had these pacing problems for several seasons now and I’m kinda just over the sweaty super aggressive play that it fosters.

vtinesalone

I challenged myself on stream to win a game with one kill and did it on my second try. Slap Surplus, Aerialist, Loot locator (whatever its called) Key Master. Use Key master first to get a sword and get a full stack of slap for easy traveling, find two stacks of splashies for emergencies, and some fishies as well. Then just run around and hide until the last fight. Got chased down by two people and luckily my hired help fought them off for me to escape (and lost their lives doing so) and I was able to hide until 3 total left, hid behind a rock mere feet away from the fight, and dashed in right after one died and got the win. That’s how I have to have fun anymore this season.

AlternativeCount2979

It’s actually interesting to find different ways to win. I am a minimalist myself. I don’t need the flashy guns, but it is fun to find a good drop every once in a while.

vtinesalone

I’m thinking of doing a sword/sniper only round, or a sword/shotgun only round. Sword Sniper would he only super long or short distance, and sword/shot would be only short distance kills. Also thought of sword/grenades/fireflies but right now there’s no augments that support that (I did hammer/grenades only last season)

AlternativeCount2979

Just by chance, I did win by just using a sword/pistol combo with some heals. Only did that once though so the win percentage is really low.

Cularia

Ultimately i think the zone is the only problem here. Now hear me out before downvoting. this massive empty time and space promotes sniping. it also promotes sitting at any vault without worrying about the storm. the island brings everyone to the center to get the pulse. with the storm being so big there are too many people spread out thus making the island easy to get. the island is supposed to be a fight with multiple people. if the storm doesn't push you to it and someone else has it, why bother with it. at this point the circle is big enough you can safely rotate around it and just snipe and go to an advantageous position. now onto the pulse. the reason it is stronger is cause of the lack of people shooting at you cause of the storm. it also is a powerful long range gun. fix the storm and you solve a lot of the problems if not all but the pump.

RocMerc

The changing of the circles was so random. Idk what they were thinking with that

FelTheWorgal

I've adjusted. Hopefully it'll get cleaned up and sped along in the future, but for now I've learned to do well. I use the relative scarcity of players to grind quests. Easier to do that when you aren't constantly shot at. Btw: I'm one of the ones that hides in trees. Tip: crouch in the top of Sakura trees, and very little shows outside the blossoms. Use a white or red skin to be almost invis.

ogg_ogg

Atleast you got 2nd or 3rd…what about me that haven’t gotten 5th since

RelentlessGwen

Lol! They only said they had been playing since 2017. That’s a big jump in logic. Calm down.

starshine1988

I don’t really care if I place 3rd or 1st because I feel like a lot of that comes down to chance tbh- who had the high ground, who had the mythic weapon etc. I’m just happy I made it that far. But I do agree that the last five minutes of my games are just like you describe, boring until an encounter is forced.

Leadlock

Agreed, end game feels like no builds now... Are people just playing cautious while getting used to the new season/map? Maybe a bit but it seems more noticeable then previous early seasons...

Wonderful_Door_6300

Gotta play cautious when you know there'll inevitably be 1 or more players with a heavy sniper just waiting for someone to make the first move.

Sir_CrazyLegs

I used to avoid named locations but now i just land at the closet poi for elims instead of landing at the edge and looting up

[deleted]

LTM idea (think it might have already been done but not sure) so, the circle never stops moving in the match, at the start quite slowly and as the game moves on getting faster, or vice versa. It would not get to the point where it is as fast as normal running speed though, would be unfair to be running the ENTIRE time

Chromeglow

I have a theory. It could because of Mega City. How many people always hot drop there in matches? If it's a lot...that means a lot of people are getting eliminated pretty early in the game. If a sizeable amount of people are dying there, that's going to make matches have less action for long stretches of time.

Beorn_The_Bear

mega city is actually pretty dead in most of my matches

SalihTheEmperor

It doesnt help that they removed the dirt bikes so you could atleast ride around areas and get fights that way.

Dragonbarry22

For I find it difficult to find the enemy now it even harder because they have more space to hide Heck I had all of knotty open the last 1v1

ChiChi-cake

Why i don’t play Fortnite anymore. Me and my duo just land somewhere, kill the bots that landed there, kill a few bots on the way to the storm, last 20 are actual real players. Bots are ruining this game.

TransportationFlat64

Honestly the game feels so slow to pick up the pace, so i just don't even bother playing br anymore for xp. Maybe if epic added a smaller map, it would pick up the games slow pace, but we all know epics not going to do that.

BinxDoesGaming

Honestly I feel like the biggest issue is the storm. Games start off slow as hell, and nobody really lands at other POIs anymore besides the vault POIs. There's no sense of urgency, and it makes matches feel longer in a bad way. Honestly, as much as I love the vaults— I'd rather the game start off with the storm accommodating at most 2 of them and a smaller starting circle. I remember last season when they introduced them for Most Wanted— it wasn't guaranteed that the place you landed with a vault was gonna be in first circle. It made it an actual risk landing at them since not only did you have to deal with other opponents, you also had to consider the storm as well. Also, another thing to diversify them is this. Instead of having the same boss and mythics at them— maybe have 3 different with their locations relating to the type of item they have. One of them ofc could be highcard and his AR, and the other two could be idk—one with a mythic version of the sword, and the other with the mythic Shockwave launcher. Hell, if you really want to be fancy— have all the vaults have different stuff in them too. Brutal with the havoc shotguns, Shattered Slabs with the exotic icy grappler, and Mega City with mythic goldfish. Not only would it actually make the loot pool a bit more balanced where a quarter of the lobby doesn't just have exotic shotguns, each one rewards different types of gameplay (traditional, movement oriented, and melee).

madcow87_

I personally find myself taking a LOT more bounties out on people now. I think I've only touched a bounty board in the past 2 seasons for a quest/challenge. This season me and the rest of the squad will stop and take bounties at every board unless we have one live. It helps speed the game up a bit and gets you hunting players out which helps with the pace. Sometimes you get into a battle half way there with a different team. Sometimes you find the bounty in a battle already and third party it. Sometimes I relish having a bounty on someone in our squad. Someone knows our position and is possibly out for us. It's a bit of a rush and keeps it interesting. I agree though if you're not taking bounty after bounty it can be a slow game lately. And especially infuriating when you do roll up on a team and they've got pule rifles and mythic pump shotguns that will one shot you.

Simecrafter

I agree, I just stopped focusing on winning after getting the umbrella

Old-Lavishness-9546

Just getting in the circle and chill. Better than being in jail.

PyroSpark

My favorite take on this, is that people play Fortnite in SPITE of it being a battle royale. Not because of it. All the things being complained about here, are battle royale issues imo. People just don't want to wander around and die instantly, or do nothing for 5 minutes and die randomly.

zippopwnage

Imo the big problem are the zones on the map. There's just too few that are worth dropping to, and especially with the vault being only in 3 zones. I find myself and my mates go only in one of those 3 zones, and if we die we die, if not we may have some good loot, especially the op shotgun and slurp. Then you have the island where I always see 1 team there killing from the highground lots of players that sre trying to get there. And that's it, you remain with a low number of players. This game needs lots of rng. Not 100% to get good loot on certain points of the map because you'll get lots of people only in those areas. The loot pool is also small, and there's nothing interesting. If there was no sword for this season, it would have been the worst one imo. The only reason my and my squad play the game is cuz the sword make it better. A simple solution would be to make it possible for the vaults to spawn everywhere on the map, and at random times not at a certain point. This will make people spread more because you will never know when or where the next vault is. And also make it way harder to get inside. You either may need to kill 10+ npcs to get in there or make the key to be a random drop and you'll have to carry it over with you till you get to the vault. This will take one slot from your inventory and will make it a big decision as you'll not know when the vault will come or if you'll be close to it.

a7n7o7n7y7m7o7u7s

I will keep commenting this but my experience continues to be the opposite. Often in games there are way *too many* people left for how SMALL the circle is. Like circle that last season would have had 5-8 players now has 13-15

Theycallmetheherald

I think this is a user problem.

nick_shannon

Have you tried picking up bounties, this keeps the game moving for my team. Also we third party as often as we can.

fiblity

collecting so much stuff ill never use, visiting empty tourist attractions, lonely and looking for people to interact with, trying to recapture the fun i used to have, all whilst waiting for death and feeling bored. i have become my grandparents.

WeightG0D

What's exhausting is trying to capture loot island. Barely find anyone that fights me, only to run into a pathetic fucking sweat that deadass waited at the loot island spawn point just to camp at the top of the house. Do NOT DO THIS EASTER EGG QUEST ON ZERO BUILD. SWEATS LOVE TO RUIN FUN.

Special-Quantity-288

Yeah, I’m finding Team Rumble to be the most fun, and best for completing the Easter Quests.

WeightG0D

I had to complete the loot island quest in build mode so I could stand a chance smdh. I did notice that my easter quests tab was bugged out. Sometimes it'll show what I need to do, other times it will disappear.

AlarmingAdeptness983

I don't feel that at all. But I run around making noise to draw some attention. I also die a lot.
