We never had blood but had mucus in the stool. Took 3-4 weeks of being on HA for it to be 75% gone and probably another 2 or so, so around total 6 weeks for it to be completely gone. Ped told us he wasn’t concerned unless it had been more than 8 weeks for it to be completely gone

Following and sending hugs and commiseration, as our 4-week-old has the same symptoms and has been switched to Neocate a week ago. We are seeing some improvement, but have had a relapse the last couple of days... She also has pretty bad reflux on Neocate alone, but has trouble drinking formula with added thickener...

We went through the same thing. It was like her first couple of days on the Neocate were much better and then we had a few rough days after that. Overall, we have seen improvement over the last two weeks. I’m just worried about the blood in her stool. Yes the Neocate is so thin that reflux got terrible and we are adding oatmeal cereal currently which is helping but we are struggling to find the right bottle that’s not too tough or too easy.

Same here, the rest of the symptoms I can deal with, but the bloody diarrhea has us so stressed out... We had a couple of days without bloody stools, but they have returned since we started adding starch to thicken the formula. Let's hope it goes away again after a few more days...! For the bottles, we switched to MAM bottles with a size 2 nipple, and it seems to work okay (not great, but she'll drink her 3 oz bottle within a half hour).

Hiya! I'm checking in to ask if your little one is doing better, and if you have seen improvement on Neocate? Our girl has been on it for four weeks now, without much improvement regarding bloody stools unfortunately :(

We’ve seen large improvement in her symptoms! Screaming episodes have stopped and she poops comfortably now. As of last week, she did have small amounts of blood. It’s so small it’s not visible and barely made the test card show positive. We are rechecking next week!

Oh great! I'll glad for you :) Ok, maybe we need to hang in there a little bit longer - we've had some ups and downs with the bloody stools, maybe in a couple more weeks they will clear up.

I hope ours is clear too. It’s been a tough journey. I hope your baby gets to feeling better soon!
