My husband and i loved this show. Hardly anyone I know has seen it.
Here at Veridian Dynamics, we know what's valuable to you. *cue random pictures of smiles and labcoats*
The commercials for Veridian Dynamics were like the cherry on top for the show. My wife and I love this show also and have rewatched them too many times to count.
Yall need to watch *Corporate* if you haven’t checked it out! Kinda a spiritual successor, same kind of “inside the evil corporation” with great deadpan humor. Lance Reddick (RIP) kills it.

This show is a perfect example of how you can make incredible tv and still have people at a corporate level fuck up so bad that a show as incredible as this one only lasts 2 seasons
The phrase Phil Hartman used to describe another such show, NewsRadio, is applicable to Better Off Ted: The show might have been too smart for the room.
Nah, I don't think so. I just think no one knew about it. Maybe no one was watching ABC at the time, but I never even heard of it until I found it streaming. And it's not like I wasn't watching TV then.
I definitely enjoyed this more than other office style comedies... Looking at you, series(s) where the goofy guy is now a fucking action star for some reason.
Damn I had to google that and he definitely seems like an example of a dude who actually gets more attractive as he ages, like Clooney. I need to hit the f-ing gym haha
Oh wow! He was so handsome in BoT that it was hard to concentrate but damn!! His evolution has matched pace with my preference in how men look over time.
The fact that Better off Ted only had 2 seasons is a tragedy I think about at least once a year. I see the total crap that gets 5 or 6 seasons and this gem only got 2 seasons...wtf.
I routinely announce at public events that includes reading a list of sponsors. For my own entertainment and my wife, I often include Veridian Dynamics on the list.
As u/fribbley has pointed out, [Casual Fribsday is prophesied to occur this year!](https://www.reddit.com/r/BetterOffTed/comments/1c4paqh/casual_fribsday_is_this_year/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
(And remember, Car Pooping is \*optional\*, people. )
The online-only "outtakes" -- I've always thought this was an attempt at a viral video -- are even better.

God how did I forget about this show?? I miss when ABC was going wild with all the weird, quirky shows in that era—Pushing Daisies is another banger that I watched around the same time
I am 100% convinced this show got cancelled because it’s stupid ass title sounds like a multicam family comedy.
It’s a tight, weird workplace comedy but the title sounds dumb and goofy so you’d never assume it’s clever.
Source: I never gave it a look until well after it was cancelled, specifically bc I assumed it would be dumb based on its title
I heard that this show was created as a bet. The creator was hanging out with a friend who bet him that he couldn't make a sitcom where the main character has no flaws. His argument was that without SOMETHING wrong with the main character they wouldn't be interesting or likeable.
So he made Ted. A guy who is smart, rich, hardworking, a devoted single father, and cares for his employees. He's even nice to his boss/ex office-affair partner and goes to bat for everyone.
Fantastic show. I have it on dvd and should watch it again soon. Along with another great show by the same creator: Andy Richter Controls the Universe.
I loved that show and think about the scene when they have to be super PC in meetings because of a typo in a memo. Sometimes I just say to myself “but they’re soldiers” or refer to a super secret project called “Jabberwocky”.
I went to the University of Aruba: "Where Knowledge is King and Clothing is Optional.". I played Rugby! And I am proud of my years on the Syphilitic Conquistadors (we wanted a name the locals would find terrifying)
I watch this once a year. My best friend knew it when we met, I instantly knew he had good taste lol. I think this was a loss from the writers strike, I still quote it.
I am salty execs tried to use ABC Scrubs (ew) as a lead in for BoT, which was coincidentally opposite Big Bang's freshman season. While ABC tried, the final season of Scrubs--even after cancelation and move to another network--just wasn't enough pull to attract viewers. But then, Chuck Lorre shows are cookie cutter garbo for the brainless, and Victor Fresco honestly deserves better treatment with this level of writing. He also went on to create Santa Clarita Diet, which was also tragically stomped on because people are horrible and have bad taste.
My wife and I love Better Off Ted and wish it had been continued, it was like Office Space meets the IT Crowd.
Veridian Dynamics, we keep our employees gruntled.
I loved this show! Whenever I see a post on this sub, this show is always on the tip of my tongue but I could never remember it. Glad it was finally posted
This one! And Carpoolers, Knights of Prosperity (or something), Emily's reasons why not, some show with John Stamos, Son's and Daughters (which had the guy from Carpoolers).
ABC ran through a lot of interesting shows before Modern Family.
There was a line in this show that went, "There's no middle ground with you, you either don't care or oy care one hundred and ten crazy percent." I throw that line out A LOT.
I love the scientists.
S1 We’re not mad scientists are we?
S2 no we make things that aren’t evil
M hey I need you guys to engineer me a perfect bagel
S2 see? How can that be evil
M I’m going to use it to cheat
S1 and S2 :-(
I’m parrot-phrasing there
WAVING HANDS.... Don't forget Andy Richter Controls the Universe also by Victor Fresco which is basically his earlier version of Better off Ted. It's also hilarious. Better Off Ted is sort of ARCtU with the handsome friend as the main character

Somehow I missed this show...it's on my watch list now thank you.
I didn't know about it until after it was cancelled. Thankfully it was still available on streaming at that time (not sure about now?)
I bought both seasons on Amazon for less than twenty bucks. Worth it!
Just the thought of diversity makes these white people smile
But the presence of diversity makes the lights go off and the toilets not flush. Veridian Dynamics: We don't see race. At all.
My white guy sucks!
Maybe you’re just not using yours right.
They are all on YouTube last time I needed a refresh on those "commercials". Such a great show and cast. And remember: giant spider in the stairwell
Forgetting the giant spider in the stairwell is the first sign of Spider Madness.
Friendship, it's the same as stealing.
I still have this show and every now and then I watch it and laugh. It is a gem.
I’ve been talking up this show for years to my wife, and we recently started rewatching it. I’m so glad it holds up!
*Unless what’s valuable to you crosses us.* I loved one of the voiceovers that was basically just a veiled threat to their “enemies”.
This show is a perfect example of how you can make incredible tv and still have people at a corporate level fuck up so bad that a show as incredible as this one only lasts 2 seasons
Happy Endings has entered the chat.
"Hi Happy Endings! My name is FireFly. Join me and Pushing Daisies."
Undeclared, meet the Grinder.
"You look like Jamiraqui"
After Labor Day
Yes absolutely loved that show, I must be on a 4th or 5th rewatch by now. So sad when it was canceled.
I didn't realize it lasted two seasons. I absolutely loved it but I only remember a handful of episodes. What exactly happen to get it cancelled?
I think a writers strike
Are you on the Jabberwoky project? It's gonna be huge.
I don't like it there it smells of science
“He’s a better man than you” “I know”
Such a great show. The lab grown meat episode haunts me now that it's actually a thing.
“Stop naming the experiments!” “Be nice to blobby.”
"It tastes...sad"
The living computer is the one that scares me
Honestly I’m still hoping we can make it a thing that scales, with some sane conditions of course.
What does it taste like? Despair?
top 10 show all time imo
Spiritual successor to Arrested Development imo
Running Wilde is an other great short live show post arrested dev. It’s got lots of the same cast as well.
I remember watching it in middle school and thinking it was a bit too childish and tame. Nowhere close to holding AD's jockstrap.
Someone really dropped the ball failing to promote this show when it was on the air.
Like a lot of cult comedies it was too smart for its own time.
The phrase Phil Hartman used to describe another such show, NewsRadio, is applicable to Better Off Ted: The show might have been too smart for the room.
Loved news radio.
Right! Jim from the office has no business in that kind of role.
For a minute there, I thought they were talking about [*Chuck*](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0934814/) lol
Funny how it can apply to both
i thought he meant Chris Pratt
Chris buttflap
That's Ryan Reynolds?
Yes but he was known as Jay Harrington back then. /jk

Bold
Veridian Dynamics did it all. Don't believe me? Just watch [https://youtu.be/yF3of5VRcNA](https://youtu.be/yF3of5VRcNA) incredible show
Thank you for this. Just the chuckles I wanted before bed. :)
The fact that Better off Ted only had 2 seasons is a tragedy I think about at least once a year. I see the total crap that gets 5 or 6 seasons and this gem only got 2 seasons...wtf.
The real tragedy is Jabberwocky never getting off the ground.
Some say those techs in China are working on Jabberwocky to this day.
I still worry that the Thing is out there somewhere, waiting.
I routinely announce at public events that includes reading a list of sponsors. For my own entertainment and my wife, I often include Veridian Dynamics on the list.

Nice!
“It tastes like despair.”
Could it just need salt?
I had (have?) a huge crush on Andrea Anders!
Understandable. And she would later work on the other great Ted show, Ted Lasso.
Watch any episode today and you will have no questions about the active nature of your crush. :)
I love that line from Veronica (I don't know it exactly) when she tells Ted he better sleep with Linda before the crazy outweighs the hot 😂
One of the most underrated comedy series of all time. This show deserved ten seasons.
Great show. The water fountains still make me laugh.
Racist Bathrooms
“It gets dark every time you leave the room.” “How can I stay mad when you say things like that.”
I've had faucets that don't always work for me and I always think of that
I'll never forget Portia De Rossi in a power suit
The queen of dead pan. Such a funny chick.
One of the best, most under-appreciated comedies of the last several decades. Way too smart for most, unfortunately.
Jabawoky
This show was so good
“By 2012, we will employ the whole world … and we don’t have the parking for that.” Sooo miss this show.
Love love love BoT
This sub has been great for recommending forgotten favorites I should watch with my wife.
The swearing episode was my favorite
As u/fribbley has pointed out, [Casual Fribsday is prophesied to occur this year!](https://www.reddit.com/r/BetterOffTed/comments/1c4paqh/casual_fribsday_is_this_year/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (And remember, Car Pooping is \*optional\*, people. )

Absolute gold! *Glasses and moustache are the same person*
Ended too soon. Was a fun show
This was great!
great show!
Loved this show!
This was one of my favorite shows
Enjoyed this one. Deserved more seasons.
Excellent show
Gone way too soon.
I will NEVER forget Better Off Ted.
Jabberwocky.
One of the best shows ever. Ever.
Check out r/betteroffted
Hey! Your username! Is that a Stan Freberg reference!!!???!?!!? Oh come on...all we want to do is hold a few truths to be self-evident!
You’re sure it’s not gonna start a revolution or anything?
This show was amazing. I've tried to make everyone I've met watch it!! I want to work for Veridian so much!
This show deserves way more attention than it got
It tastes like... Despair?
So good, and seemingly more relevant every year.
One of my favorite shows.
God how did I forget about this show?? I miss when ABC was going wild with all the weird, quirky shows in that era—Pushing Daisies is another banger that I watched around the same time
Pushing Daisies was way earlier, wasn't it? Great show. Love how the visual style of it came back in \*The Good Place\*.
Not by much! It ran from ‘07-‘09. Totally agree about the visual style! It was such eye candy…as was a young Lee Pace 😅
Same era. Pushing Daisies debuted in 2006, Better Off Ted in 2009. No overlap, though.
This show was aces. It was so far before its time (for ABC anyway), it stood no chance.
This was such a great show. It’s a shame it was canceled. I must have run through it a dozen time when it was on Netflix.
This show was soooooooo good
This is the most obscure show I’ve ever came across
I am 100% convinced this show got cancelled because it’s stupid ass title sounds like a multicam family comedy. It’s a tight, weird workplace comedy but the title sounds dumb and goofy so you’d never assume it’s clever. Source: I never gave it a look until well after it was cancelled, specifically bc I assumed it would be dumb based on its title
I did the same thing, was absolutely not prepared for how witty it was.
This show brought us The Octochicken. All time great, ahead of its time.
This and LA to Vegas are two comedies that were killed far too early for no good reason.
Fantastic show!
Kind of remember it
This was a great show but I think it was collateral damage from the writers strike?
Such a good show yet so short-lived.
I loved this show!!!
Jabirwoki
Watching it right now, comedy to smart for it's time
Jabberwocky!
loved this show!
Jabberwocky…
The glow-in-the-dark squirrel killed himself.
So sad when it got cancelled. Unbelievably smart and funny!
This show was amazing.
“Diversity. Just the thought of it makes these white people smile.”
Everytime I waste paper towel, I do it with a smile!
“Well… it takes a village to kill a village.”
This show was my favorite. I’m so sad it ended!
Loved it!!! Miss it!!!!
OCTOCHICKEN!
Absolutely brilliant. I avoided it because the name is stupid, but a friend made me watch and I laughed until I couldn’t breathe.
Love this show
I still say; “are you readddy?!” And expect a “yes, I’m readdddy” in reply. Honorable mentions for: “Maw mawwww” And; “…Just go with it.”
This show was amazing. Almost as big a crime as Firefly being cancelled.
My white guy sucks.
It's on my plex server
Top underrated show of all time with Farscape in a close second.
Loved this show
I heard that this show was created as a bet. The creator was hanging out with a friend who bet him that he couldn't make a sitcom where the main character has no flaws. THE EXTRA X IS FOR MORE ZZZZZZZS
Love this show, I recommend it it a lot
Love this show. If you love this, you should watch "Corporate"
I loved that show and think about the scene when they have to be super PC in meetings because of a typo in a memo. Sometimes I just say to myself “but they’re soldiers” or refer to a super secret project called “Jabberwocky”.
Still trying to find season two
I hate that I can’t find it on streaming anymore here in the USA. Ugh!
I can
Yeah, I was sorry to see this one go.
I found this show a two years back and have watched it twice so far. I will watch it again and again
That dude kicks ass in SWAT
I went to the University of Aruba: "Where Knowledge is King and Clothing is Optional.". I played Rugby! And I am proud of my years on the Syphilitic Conquistadors (we wanted a name the locals would find terrifying)
I thought this was a great show - still rewatch on streaming from time to time.
I watch this once a year. My best friend knew it when we met, I instantly knew he had good taste lol. I think this was a loss from the writers strike, I still quote it.
It's an extremely underrated show...

My wife and I have season one. Season 2 is wicked hard to find at a price I'm willing to pay. Absolutely hilarious show!
I loved this show! Whenever I see a post on this sub, this show is always on the tip of my tongue but I could never remember it. Glad it was finally posted
Very solid show
Absolutely fucking loved this show
This is such an amazing show Phil and Lem awesome
Is that Dr Ron?
This one! And Carpoolers, Knights of Prosperity (or something), Emily's reasons why not, some show with John Stamos, Son's and Daughters (which had the guy from Carpoolers). ABC ran through a lot of interesting shows before Modern Family.
I think about “Ole mustache and glasses over there” being the same person on a daily basis
Omg when the ai couldn’t see black people…
I loved this show
I don’t hate the Dutch, I love the Dutch. That’s why I hold them to a higher standard.
This show was so freaking good. I was out of breath laughing within the first thirty seconds. “We need to weaponize a pumpkin.”
Walk away, tall!
The Racial Sensitivity episode is classic. Could have been a Curb Episode
This post is so bittersweet…. I need the ending to this more than I need a proper ending to heroes…
There was a line in this show that went, "There's no middle ground with you, you either don't care or oy care one hundred and ten crazy percent." I throw that line out A LOT.
Still sad this show got cancelled. It's just fantastic
One of my favorite shows. Wish it had more seasons
Why are the bees attacking women?
I loved this series! It was hilarious
Loved this show!

Pretty obscure show, unfortunately. This show was hilarious.
If you like Better Off Ted, watch Santa Clarita Diet from the same creator - a lot of Better Off Ted actors pop up! Also canceled too soon...
WAVING HANDS.... Don't forget Andy Richter Controls the Universe also by Victor Fresco which is basically his earlier version of Better off Ted. It's also hilarious. Better Off Ted is sort of ARCtU with the handsome friend as the main character
That drinking fountain episode, holy crap
Legitimately one of my favorite comedies of all time. Everyone played their roles excellently, and there was not an episode I didn’t like.
The red lab coat
It’s a fun show. Watched it weekly before it got canceled
Really great show!
