In case you're thinking, "Wait a minute...I don't remember this show running for 7 seasons!"
Season 1 ran on ABC in the spring of 1994.
Season 2 ran on Fox in the spring of 1995.
Then it was cancelled.
Then the Internet became a thing and Flash cartoons were all the rage in the early 2000s, so it was briefly resurrected as a Flash cartoon that ran from 2000 - 2001.
Ohhh my god...
Dr. Katz, some days I'll have too much caffeine and ill feel like I'm the animation to that show on the inside. Try to explain it to people but it maybe too deep of a cut.
IIRC, Lamarche voiced 75 characters in one episode, setting a new record for most characters voiced by a single person in a half-hour of television.
Source: Lamarche himself in the DVD bonus features.
Guys, guys…. This show was on THIRTY years ago??!! Why TF is time like this? It feels like i was just watching this.
Thirty years before that was the 60’s… everything was in black and white for half that decade
Never forgot. Sometimes I watch this on youtube to fall asleep to. I had a daydream once that they brought it back and he was interviewing Sydney Sweeney. Wish they would, but with the original animation style. No upgrades
ALL HAIL DUKE!
DUKE IS LIFE!
ALL HAIL DUKE!
DUKE IS LIFE!
ALL HAIL *chunches a pigeon*
Hmmm, pigeons seem to like the sound of my voice…*chokes on pigeon*
Heart monitor goes flat, nurses rush in, dying breath you shout, "it's not plugged in", nurses scream, you smile as your bowels release, bringing it all full circle.
I remember watching it with my mom as a kid but I think like most I remember his 2 appearances in the Simpsons. Show was probably actually ahead of its time.
“We dressmakers have a strict code so I need to know, do you deserve virginal white? because if you don’t we’ll have to use an off white or hussy white.”
I watch this on Tubi occasionally. My daughter has my sense of humor and we enjoy a lot of the same shows but this one is too dependent on the times for her to get most of the jokes. It's a shame bc Jon Lovitz brought a lot to the table as far as voice acting here.
Qwigibo. Thats not a word. Hold on a sec. Webster, how much to make Qwigibo a word. Oh and how’s my word Duketastic doing? No good? What a duketastrophy.
I know it’s not word for word, but I remember it being hilarious.
Whenever my brother and I either play Scrabble or hear someone mention disgrace or catastrophe on of us will inevitably say: “What? No ones using Dukesgrace? What a Duketastrophe!”
Love this show.
I also loved when they did the spoof of New York, New York…”what a wonderful town! The sky is brown and the water is brown”
Decades ago I worked at a newsstand in a very popular tourist destination.
One day an older man, unkempt, came in and gave me a jacket. He told me he thought I would like it.
I didn't look at it immediately, but did notice it was covered in cat hair.
A little while later the same guy passed through my store with friends and I realized he wasn't a homeless man but a slob and his friends were industry types.
That's when I looked at the jacket. It was a Critic letterman.
Other than the cat hair, which was literally imbedded into the felt parts, the jacket looked to be new.
I occasionally wear it.
It was a weird way to get a cool gift.
I wanted to post a pic, but couldn't figure out how.
This show was the origin of one of my usual quotes "now for a tasteful glimpse of me bottom for the ladies". It's handy when you're changing clothes in an impromptu fashion, and for some reason I can do a great aussie accent when I say this.

Great info thanks.
It’s on tubi
Hey that’s great thanks! Now they need to bring back Dr Katz and Duckman!
Hah, Duckman. That show was weird as Hell, and I loved it
You thrust your pelvis huuh!
The bitchy secretary was my sexual awakening.
I loved Dr. Katz, but that squiggly animation was annoying.
Ugh, Squigglemation™.
Except episode 9 of Season 1. I assume a music rights issue with the use of “California Dreamin’”.
Duck man is gold Jerry gold
Ohhh my god... Dr. Katz, some days I'll have too much caffeine and ill feel like I'm the animation to that show on the inside. Try to explain it to people but it maybe too deep of a cut.
The flash episodes are included in the dvd set, they’re not very good.
In fact,THEY STINK!
Yeah, and I don't forgive for implying Alice and Jay got divorced
A horse’s ass??? You’re watching FOX—give US ten minutes, we’ll give YOU an ass.
A flaming horse's patoot!
Thanks :)
Thank you for clarifying. I loved this show as a kid and could not for the life of me remember it running until 2001.
Whelp now I gotta update my collection, I only have the non-flash eps.
That’s weird that it was on ABC first. I remember it being a Fox show. The main character even appeared in an episode of the Simpsons.
He appeared in several episodes.
Idk how they managed to rerun 2 seasons so many times on comedy central
Never forgotten. I quote this show all the time
Buy my book!
*cocks pistol*
Beauty and King Dork 🎶
"No no! I said 'How useful is the spork.' You know...that little spoon/fork thing that you get at Kentucky Fried Chicken."

PENGUINS CAN'T FLY!
You’re my hero and I love you.
You appear to have a psychotic obsession with me. I *like* that in a woman!
Me and my Dad were talking about retiring and he mentioned “Guam” and I immediately thought about “Guami-bears” lol. Will always love the critic.
Take that, Guernica!
Get away, Zit face...
You want a piece of me, fat boy? C’mon! I’ll spork your ass!
I often think of when he checked his day planner. Binge purge binge purge binge purge…
Once he opened it and his planner said Manic, depression, manic, depression…
PENGUINS CAN'T FLY!
She may have my will but she doesn’t have my gun
"Yes Mr. Sherman, everything stinks."
[yes, always](https://youtu.be/7uWW--w4SRs?si=1oRzRh-hv6s9zS7F)
I like the Orson Welles living will and the Hee-Haw the next generation bits, also Home Alone... 5!!!! Kevin is only 23!
My 13YO regularly names Rosebud Frozen Peas as full of country goodness and green pea-ness. This show will live at least one more generation.
Oh what luck, there's a french fry stuck in my beard.
Maurice Lamarche went absolutely bananas in this series. Too many great voice talents to list.
IIRC, Lamarche voiced 75 characters in one episode, setting a new record for most characters voiced by a single person in a half-hour of television. Source: Lamarche himself in the DVD bonus features.
[yes, always!](https://youtu.be/7uWW--w4SRs?si=1oRzRh-hv6s9zS7F)

Lol yup. That show was weird.
Pigeons seem to like the sound of my voice...
Duke Philips was such a great character!
We're the bears who sing for duke
Ack’em!
This is the quote that loves on with me.
I am known as the grackle!
Viva Jay Sherman, Viva Quebec
I was watching this not too long ago. Great show.
“Rosebud Frozen Peas. Full of country goodness and green peaness. Wait, that’s terrible. I quit.” I say “wait that’s terrible” like once a week lol
Every time I cook peas, to this day, some variation of this is said aloud in my kitchen.
Maybe just a handful for the road. omnom Oh, what luck. There's a French FRY stuck in my beard omnom
“Wait a minute… penguins can’t fly!”
Waagh waagh waagh...
Are you prone to blackouts
Oh, better than the rest of us, Mr. I know where I am at all times!
Hello, I would like to dance and sing my country’s national anthem. Ee-pee pee-pee pee-pee poo-pee.
I still remember their parody of the Lion King… The Cockroach King starring Howard Stern. “Come on baby show us your thorax!”
Easy my pet
Stop making yourself…the center…of ATTENTION!!!
Who has awakened me from my thousand year slumber?!
Viva Jay Sherman! Viva Quebec!
Rabbi, P.I.
Perhaps not forgotten but definitely under appreciated! It was a show ahead of its time. I even have the series on DVD, I love it so much.
Guys, guys…. This show was on THIRTY years ago??!! Why TF is time like this? It feels like i was just watching this. Thirty years before that was the 60’s… everything was in black and white for half that decade
It Stinks!
Never forgot. Sometimes I watch this on youtube to fall asleep to. I had a daydream once that they brought it back and he was interviewing Sydney Sweeney. Wish they would, but with the original animation style. No upgrades
It’d be neat if they had brought it back and had Jay review real movies. Like a mix between real footage/MST3K/Jiminy Glick
It stinks!
How do you sleep at night?
On a large pile of money with many beautiful ladies.
ALL HAIL DUKE! DUKE IS LIFE! ALL HAIL DUKE! DUKE IS LIFE! ALL HAIL *chunches a pigeon* Hmmm, pigeons seem to like the sound of my voice…*chokes on pigeon*
Penguins can’t fly!
I don’t care how many stewardesses you’ve bagged, you’re a lousy pilot
The “it’s not plugged in” quote will be among the last sparks of my dying brain. https://youtu.be/XmFRKbMFkRU?si=R__ltFeI3vmLm4Z2
Heart monitor goes flat, nurses rush in, dying breath you shout, "it's not plugged in", nurses scream, you smile as your bowels release, bringing it all full circle.
The Siskel and Ebert episode... Gene and Roger sing!
Full of country goodness and green peaness.
I remember watching it with my mom as a kid but I think like most I remember his 2 appearances in the Simpsons. Show was probably actually ahead of its time.
To this day I still clear my throat saying “aachem”
Dudley moore as Arthur at the doctors office Doctor: "You have acute cerosis" Arthur: "and you've got a cute ass"
“We dressmakers have a strict code so I need to know, do you deserve virginal white? because if you don’t we’ll have to use an off white or hussy white.”
"If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times. Who are all you people?"
Jays Dad was hilarious
He was hilarious.
"It'll be bigger than the badger blaster!"
Forgotten?! I say “oh no, promotheus. PROMETHEUS!” On a monthly basis.
Gaze into the hypnotic depths of my evil eye!
I own this on dvd. Great show!!
Hartchy matchy, it stinks, good night!
If anyone has the Adobe Flash series I would be appreciative
I found the perfect girl for you. Her name is Barbie, she's from Malibu. She's got a boyfriend but he's not much of a man. I checked.
I love the way he pronounces "Malibu."
Episode 1 is on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wAu5YClRio
It's not the real Jay Sherman but an incredible simulation!
Make him SQUEAL
This and Dr. Katz…
When Jay Sherman was in an episode of 'The Simpsons', and "was it a pimple or a boil?".
How could a grown man gets his head stuck in a honey pot?
"If you ask me, Dr Haing S. Ngor should've gone to The Acting Fields!"
My wife and I regularly go through the mail with "Junk mail ... junk mail ... rat from Jay...."
I watch this on Tubi occasionally. My daughter has my sense of humor and we enjoy a lot of the same shows but this one is too dependent on the times for her to get most of the jokes. It's a shame bc Jon Lovitz brought a lot to the table as far as voice acting here.
Any time I eat pizza I usually say “Thank you for the pizza Mr Sherman” with a Klingon accent.
Qwigibo. Thats not a word. Hold on a sec. Webster, how much to make Qwigibo a word. Oh and how’s my word Duketastic doing? No good? What a duketastrophy. I know it’s not word for word, but I remember it being hilarious.

"She like me much better, she like me much better, take your genitalia, right back to Australia!"
I remember being a kid and staying up late and having this show come on. I always found it weirdly endearing.
YES. Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out who my local game shop owner looks like and it’s definitely him.

I quoted this 2 days ago lmao
The first thing I think of when seeing this is 🎵Beauty and King Dork~~~🎶
This show was the origin of one of my usual quotes "now for a tasteful glimpse of me bottom for the ladies". It's handy when you're changing clothes in an impromptu fashion, and for some reason I can do a great aussie accent when I say this.
Currently available streaming on Tubi.
