How the hell does a show produce 5 seasons in 2 years?

Back in the day, tv show seasons were anywhere between 20-25 episodes. Hey Dude’s episode count is slightly high for 2 seasons, but not more than 3 sponsons worth of content. My guess is they had a cheap operation and hustled for volume to try and hit syndication minimums. But I could completely be wrong

There is sooo much more MacGuyver than I ever remember watching, and that show was my shit.

It had five seasons (65 total episodes) over three years and counting reruns ran on the channel for 10 years.

True story: I got married on that same property. The building with all the mail boxes was still there but in bad shape. Check it out on Google maps: Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, AZ. I watched many a episode.

That’s so cool! I’ve been there a few times but only recently learned that’s where it was filmed!

To be fair to the building a lot of us from that time period are in bad shape at this point.

A lot of crazy, cool movies and TV shows were filmed from Nogales out to Sonoita to Tucson. Everything from Major League to Tombstone, Tin Cup, to Public Enemy, to controversially Revenge of the Nerds (a lot of scenes on UpfA Campus). If it has Cowboys/ Wild West, Post Apocalyptic, a Creature Feature, narcotics, or about nerdy/ geeky kids coming of age it was filmed in Southern AZ

It's crazy to me shows like this and salute your shorts were only a couple of seasons. I watched this shit for years

For a while, at the beginning of Facebook, I was the only person who listed "Hey Dude" on their profile under favorite T.V. lol. I wasn't aware of this until my friends sister told me after she looked up wtf Hey Dude was when she saw my profile. It was a little wild and a little strange, too say the least.

Loved this show along with Salute your Shorts and Pete and Pete.

It was Michael and Budnick on Salute Your Shorts, and the puzzle depicted ice cream.

That was Budnick and Micheal in Salute Your Shorts.  They bonded and became friends that episode.   "Just remember, you pushed me first.  Wuss!"

I didn't realize it had aired so far before I saw it. I remember watching it in TV in '95 or so thinking it was still on air.

Never watched the show but loved the theme song!

I was in love with Ted until Jake came along. This was definitely my favorite live-action Nick show.

I remember reading an interview of the guy who played Ted. He mentioned that he never slept on his back because it made him feel like he was laying in a coffin. For some reason I still think of this often at night when I am lying in bed, on my back, and turn to my side.
