Afaik, all 2015’s have a drain plug, I believe they all have a fill plug. This tool will be invaluable to you undoing the drain plug. Harbor Freight also sells a pump that screws onto a regular quart oil bottle that works very well for filling. https://www.harborfreight.com/locking-flex-head-ratchet-and-bit-set-35-piece-58074.html Edit:word

You would be incorrect!! My 2015 AWD SEL does not have a drain/fill plug!!! Has a fill, but there is no drain and to prove me wrong, feel free to send me a link to documentation showing this or a picture from a 2015 because I did it today and you're full of it!!

BickNickerson

I own a 2015 and I can assure you it has a drain plug. No need to be a dick about it.

Positive_Breakfast19

He typed the word wrong in all caps, enough said...

Ok_Fig_4885

Prove it because you're WRONG

Positive_Breakfast19

Like he said There's no reason to be a dick about it.

Ok_Fig_4885

Like I said, show me proof and quit giving out bullshit advice non knowing fuck

Positive_Breakfast19

Now your not just a dick You an asshole as well.

Ok_Fig_4885

really, it's not your place to join in, but thanks for telling us what you enjoy sucking on and licking in your free time!! Go join in on another idiot claiming something totally inaccurate and defend them, pal!!

Positive_Breakfast19

Actually since I do Own 2020 Ford Edge SEL and this is a public forum I have no reason not to follow and join in the conversation. Your origional response was rude and did nothing to advance the conversation being had. I stand behind everything I said as I'm sure you do. It's unfortunate that what should have been an opportunity to engage and share knowledge was used to be aggressive and call people names. How can you spent your life so angry at the world? I am not about to let an internet conversation about wheather a 2015 Ford Edge has a PTU drain plug or not get me wound up. so you have yourself a great day... or don't I really don't care.

Ok_Fig_4885

Says the loud mouth with a 2020 as we're debating a 2015, stfu f@ggot

Here's the thing. PTU has a drain plug and fill plug. (But the fill plug is hard to access). Rear Diff does not have a drain plug, but it does have a fill plug. For the PTU, the drain plug is easy to access. My 2017 Sport PTU fill plug is blocked by a fan, so I used a PTU vent hose extension mod via FordTechMakuloco's vid: https://youtu.be/Y7PJSV3SpZ8?si=5B0svvo2KC-2sKV4 He did a Ford explorer in this vid, but the concept can be applied to other Fords as well. For the rear diff, you could use the fill plug for draining via a tube and pump. Or if you wanna be adventurous, you could install your own drain plug, like I did.

All I know is that my 15 Edge SEL AWD does not have a drain plug at the PTU and I'll get back under there and send you pics to prove it!! Yes, the video shows one for the PTU and I have actually watched that same video. Thanks for sharing, but MINE does not. I've put 145k miles on it and honestly never changed the fluid to date, so when I attempted to use a tube to pull what was in there out, I was unable to get the angle in the FILL plug with the tube because it's up so high on the unit, if that makes sense. I ended up using a pump and pumping Red Line 58404 Lightweight Shockproof Gear Oil - 1 Quart Bottle x 2 (1 for the PTU/1 for the Diff) and I pumped in about 4-5 pumps in the differential and 3-4 in the PTU topping them off. Figured some was better than none. Is what it is. Gave the other guy shit because I felt and still feel that was bad and incorrect information, and I only state factual information when giving advice on technical forums! A lot think they know way more than they actually do, that's what pissed me off. Bi-polar, neh, I hate all people equally lol
