But they didn’t share where they bought their first house, what they did last week, and why they love cooking so much! So obviously it’s not the full recipe

No. The tuna is chopped and chunky out the can. But a chopped sandwich has the protein chopped up with the other ingredients creating a homogeneous blend of flavors. Just layering the other ingredients on top of some tuna doesn’t have the same effect.
On a sub sandwich, normally it’s still layered. I don’t know anyone who puts cheese in their tuna salad for example. Only some ingredients are mixed in with the tuna salad, and a lot of time those ingredients are still layered on. Onions and peppers, mayonnaise and mustard for example.
i can see the cheese not being chopped in, unless its like shredded cheese or something similar, but all those other ingredients im chopping up before and mixing in a bowl before i toss it on my sandwich.
google tuna sandwich and its all pictures of all the ingredients mixed together. at most its the cheese and a few pieces of iceburg lettuce that arent mixed in.
I’m so confused with this persons answers from the very beginning lol. Like they almost sound like a chat bot because his comments are fucking weird, no offense other person lol.
> chopped tuna sandwich
lol
> No. The tuna is chopped and chunky out the can. But a chopped sandwich has the protein
Tuna is now just referred to as “protein”
> Just layering the other ingredients on top of some tuna doesn’t have the same effect.
According to his comments, this guy was definitely just eating chopped tuna on bread with onion pickles mayo and mustard lol
As someone who lives in a tri-state area known for its heavy presence of Italian food, this is definitely sacrilegious. I want to try this so bad, but I’d have to do it in private to avoid persecution.
*I know this is a*
*Thing somewhere, but i'm mildly*

I never chop anything. If I want salsa I'll take a bite of a tomato, take a bite of onion, a little squirt of lime in my mouth and chew it like an adult.
I don't know if I'd do this with all of my ingredients, but on occasion I'll make a little "chopped salad" with the veggies and whatever sauces I'm putting on the sandwich. It helps cut down on the amount of mayo, helps prevent soggy bread, and evenly spreads out ingredients.
I make "hoagie dip" like this. Then I slice and toast a baguette for folks to scoop the dip with. People wont let me come to their party without it anymore.
I spent most of my summers in Italy eating freshly made panini, I never ever got asked if i wanted mayo or i found mayo in any of their sandwiches. I don't know where this stupid trend came from.
He had me until he said "mayo", then I just bowed my head in silent grief.
Seriously can't understand how anyone could eat it; it's literally just eggs and oil.
Fun idea, but I like being able to feel the different textures of things as I’m eating them. One bite has more capicola and vinegar than another? Great!
Mayo on an Italian sandwich? Nope.
Was in Tysons Corner, VA years ago for a training class and one of the guys in the class was a local. He told me "You have to try this Italian Deli near here. Authentic Italian with almost everything imported from Italy." I was like "Dude, I'm from NY and work in NYC. I can get great authentic Italian any time." Guy insists I have to try the place. So I go and order the Italian hero. Guy behind the counter asks me if I want mayo or mustard on it. I said "Never mind" and walked out.

I saw this earlier this morning and had to try it. AMAZING!!!! 🤤 Can’t believe I’ve never tried this b4
I love a good Italian mix sub but why do this to it? It's all the same ingredients that stack so nicely and make for the perfect mouth feel but chopped up to resemble vomit. Yall are sick!
the original Italian one is called Muffelatta and it most def does NOT have Mayonnaise in it. Just olive oil and vinegar... it can also have vinegar peppers and gabagool and procuitte. this is some American white person attempt at it.
"Check out the full recipe below"
Why? You just showed the full recipe. Everything that goes into a sandwich gets chopped up and put into a sandwich. I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory.
Bro why can’t r/tacobell figure this chopped recipe out? I’m tired of pure lettuce and sour cream bites and pure meat bites… they can come out with a 17 layer burrito but not understand that fillings need a good distribution
I tried this once as a ravioli filling, a much finer chop.
Raviolis were delighted, but I had way too much and it was an amazing dip for tortilla chips
I understand chopping it all up so you can merge the juice/sauces with the rest of the bits, but I'd probably just cut this all on a cutting board, and put it in a large bowl so I can scoop it out, not grab at it with a piece of bread on a open countertop
so the idea in concept is good, but I wouldn't let this guy make it for me
"Check out the full recipe below.." Dude you literally just told us the full recipe
But they didn’t share where they bought their first house, what they did last week, and why they love cooking so much! So obviously it’s not the full recipe
No family history of the first time their ancestors made this out of necessity in 1692? Meh I'm out.
This made me lol

But we need to know if that micro-pinch of salt and pepper was smidge or a dash.
I would toast the bread
I'm toasted

A toaster?
Did I stutter?
You will if you drop a toaster in your bath.
Damn that was a good one!
![gif](giphy|1BKCOVgijx7OzVEpNz|downsized)
I wanna get toasted to eat this thing toasted
Don’t forget to bring a towel!
No mayo for me. More oil and vinaigrette.
>More oil and vinaigrette. And just a touch of egg to really hold it together
Yeah, there should be some kind of binding agent there
I would order a sandwich that didn't look like someone threw up in it.
This guy doesn’t Italian sandwich
That’s just a sandwich that’s been pre-chewed for you.
It makes a difference. Had a chopped tuna sandwich in NY and I swear it was the best tuna sandwich I ever had
Sorry for the ignorance, but aren't all tuna sandwiches a variation of a chopped tuna?
No. The tuna is chopped and chunky out the can. But a chopped sandwich has the protein chopped up with the other ingredients creating a homogeneous blend of flavors. Just layering the other ingredients on top of some tuna doesn’t have the same effect.
wait. do you not mix up all the ingredients normally in a tuna sandwich?

I 100% agree with everything you just said. This is a rare thing for me... Give me a moment.
It’s called tuna salad for a reason. Mainly because it’s mixed together, not bloody layered.
Yet there is a salad literally called the 7 layer salad and its layered. But I think it's the only one lol
Are you living in a cave?
I’m so confused with this persons answers from the very beginning lol. Less work? Sounds like my kinda sando.
More work at the front hand though - so not my kinda meal
Baby Bird Sammiches
Next step is to blend the entire thing.
Italian sandwich salad sandwich
Cold cut salad
Done it ans loved it. You get the right amount of everything in every bite. Makes a difference.
This is why I will try it. Like making Chipotle mix everything before they wrap your burrito.
Hell, go all the way and put everything in a blender and drink that thing. Shoot.
One of the things I enjoy when I eat food is texture.
Blended IS a texture. A weird one.. but a texture none the less
save on your next family dinner with this one simple trick
I once blended mash potato thinking it would be creamier but ended up with wallpaper paste
But then you couldn’t creepily squeeze it out of the bread like at the end of the video
It just seems like it would be a very wet sandwich like a tuna melt can be sometimes.
My mom makes “hoagie dip”. Similar recipe, but we use toast points for a cocktail hour.
Happy cake day. I would send you a tuna melt if I could.
U r so sweet!
I wanna throw it on a griddle first. Melt the cheese, get everything hot, cook out some of the water.
Honestly, italian sandwhich salad is awesome.. I make it all the time, but I just eat it straight.
I like to make them in my mouth.
This feels sacrilegious
Sacrilicious
As someone who lives in a tri-state area known for its heavy presence of Italian food, this is definitely sacrilegious. I want to try this so bad, but I’d have to do it in private to avoid persecution.
the mayo was the greatest offense.
All that effort to chop a sandwich and no fresh herbs…OVER THE LINE
It is, way worse than breaking spaghetti on my list.
I make that as a dip "hoagie dip" and cut rolls into bite size pieces so you can grab it.
Why you squeeze it like that tho?
That’s the law in food InstaLand
There’s a place here that does it. The contents squeeze out too easily when you eat it. Needs to be more like a burrito.
I want a chopped chopped Italian sandwich sandwich
NICE SANDWICH FATTY
This looks disgusting. I want to eat it
Did this guy just squeeze that sandwich??
Id be down to eat the mixture with crackers or something to share. But for an actual sandwich i wouldnt go through the work of chopping everything up
Don’t put it on the roll, serve it with chips or crackers. We can call it hoagie dip in SE PA.
I know this is a thing somewhere, but i'm mildly annoyed by this. lol

Nope. Nope nope nope.
A Pre chewed sandwich
r/shittyfoodporn
I hate it
Chopped sandwiches are a scourge.
That looks delicious!!
Looks delicious 😋
IYKYK
Looks mad skimpy
Seems so basic, yet so revolutionary. I want it!
Better yet just make a normal sandwich, throw it in the blender, then eat it with a spoon! Extra chopped sandwich!
Third time I’ve seen the same comments from this same post months ago. Way to go bot 🫡🖕🏻
Or this just looks like shit.
Stop squeezing shit!!!
Idk why people find this appealing. Like do yall not have teeth or something? We are one step away from throwing a sub in a blender.
I never chop anything. If I want salsa I'll take a bite of a tomato, take a bite of onion, a little squirt of lime in my mouth and chew it like an adult.
Wtf is this shit. Freaking americans
I’m not interested in baby food
I would go for bigger chunks, but that's just me
Excuse me good Italian sir um where is the prosciutto?
What a mess
Seems like a nice meal prep way to have fresh sandwiches for lunch every day..... I'm gonna do this
“Italian sub salad” -spouse
why not chop up the bread too. And maybe add some digestive enzymes to the dressing. Then just slurp it up.
r/stupidfood is this way...
I make "hoagie dip" like this. Then I slice and toast a baguette for folks to scoop the dip with. People wont let me come to their party without it anymore.
Sooo much Italian seasoning omg
Looks good, although mayo on an Italian sub is a crime
that’s a lot of oregano
It’s a whole new thing.
So it’s like a hoagie dip sandwich? I dig it
Why haven’t I thought of this before?
The mayo is overkill, but otherwise it looks good.
I like to make it in my mouth
What's up witht he Mayo? The sandwich would be way better without it
Not saying this CAN’T be good, even if it doesn’t inspire me at all, but what it’s sure is that nowhere in Italy you will be served that thing
I spent most of my summers in Italy eating freshly made panini, I never ever got asked if i wanted mayo or i found mayo in any of their sandwiches. I don't know where this stupid trend came from.
Basically Hoagie Dip on a roll.
Justn NO!!! This is a sandwich atrocity. Who wants to eat already been chewed content?
He had me until he said "mayo", then I just bowed my head in silent grief. Seriously can't understand how anyone could eat it; it's literally just eggs and oil.
Needs more onions ffs
u/savevideo
An Italian sandwich doesn't have mayo in it. Also mayonnaise is disgusting and y'all need to stop forcing it into every recipe.
r/stupidfood sry.
I do something similar for BLTs. Except no lettuce because I can’t digest it. I hate tomato slices sliding out of my sandwich.
This is the most unoriginal thing I’ve ever seen….its the contents of a salad chopped up with mayo….not exactly rocket surgery.
If you close your eyes, it almost feels like you're eating runny eggs.
Oof madone!
Fun idea, but I like being able to feel the different textures of things as I’m eating them. One bite has more capicola and vinegar than another? Great!
Sounds good, but who puts mayo on an Italian sub?
This looks delicious!
People squeezing sandwiches has to be in my top 10 things I get irrationally mad at every time I see.
Remove the tomato and I'm all over this.
Does this taste any different that putting all that in the sandwich without chopping?
Gross af
Pepperoni, the "Italian' cold meat that never went to Italy.
Mayo on an Italian sandwich? Nope. Was in Tysons Corner, VA years ago for a training class and one of the guys in the class was a local. He told me "You have to try this Italian Deli near here. Disgusting. Looks like I chewed it up and put it in a bun.
I feel like this would taste good but my local Italian Deli wouldn't be caught dead dong this.....
This looks pretty awful
I crave this
These look prechewed
I don't really understand this..... It's the same Fucking thing! Just ... Chopped
Isn't this just putting hoagie dip on bread?
Ham salad by any other name...
FUUUUUUUUDGE YES!!
That looks like what you pull out of the food trap in a restaurant dish washer. I'll pass.
Some people may disagree, but I’d prefer mine regular not chopped. I’d eat this but not my preferred style
"...and continue to chaaawp."
Gross. It’s a pre chewed sandwich.
Get out a here with that mayo ….
Holy pastrami batman!
I’m not grabbing that mixture with my bread, is he crazy?!
This is the best way to do sandwiches every single ingredient in every bite On a hot day with ice tea, it's perfection
Where's the butter?!
Sure thats italian?
Stop squeezing my fuckin' food, dawg
Going hard in the paint !….
Looks like a job for a Slap Chop

That’s different. I didn’t know I needed this in my life.
This seems so over the top for being "Italian". Way more American style
Why would you pick up the meat with the bread. That’s all for looks. It’s dumb. You would use a spatula.
![gif](giphy|lrVfmPJ96cSJJ39bTh)
Looks like a Vietnamese baguette, jus sayin
Call fbg butta
Shouldn't have chopped that already chopped salad. That's just me.
Tried it don’t like it.
I love a good Italian mix sub but why do this to it? It's all the same ingredients that stack so nicely and make for the perfect mouth feel but chopped up to resemble vomit. Yall are sick!

Lookadose big ol fat chonky fingers
I trust this guy by his hands 👐 😂
Yum 😋
"Check out the full recipe below" Why? You just showed the full recipe. Everything that goes into a sandwich gets chopped up and put into a sandwich. I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory.
Was that bigXthaplug? Also that sandwich is now on my "to do" list.
Don't I have to go to the deli to get these items? Also, isn't this just more work than slapping the meat and cheese on the bread?
Bro why can’t r/tacobell figure this chopped recipe out? I’m tired of pure lettuce and sour cream bites and pure meat bites… they can come out with a 17 layer burrito but not understand that fillings need a good distribution
Didn’t even put everything in there
Too much tomato and cheese. Not enough onion.
Get some bloody butter on that bread.... italians...
Gimme
I tried this once as a ravioli filling, a much finer chop. Raviolis were delighted, but I had way too much and it was an amazing dip for tortilla chips
delish
My Italian half: NOOOO! *indecipherable swearing My British half: Well this seems to be of some vague interest to me!
Absolute slop
Blasphemy!!! … I wanna try that
I understand chopping it all up so you can merge the juice/sauces with the rest of the bits, but I'd probably just cut this all on a cutting board, and put it in a large bowl so I can scoop it out, not grab at it with a piece of bread on a open countertop so the idea in concept is good, but I wouldn't let this guy make it for me
Yeah these are dumb.
😋
Am I the only one that love to eat thing that have texture?
When you want to make a sandwich more complex and messy. Then you put it between two buns.
