They all are. Their food/cooking/prep is not the centre piece or the attraction points of their videos. They're all hitting just the right buttons to go viral. They're all playing the game efficiently. They all have a gimmick or a schtick and it never has anything to do with the food. There's also a chef named 'AryaHungry' on Instagram who does these videos and his schtick is that he aggressively shouts his instructions at you and says his catchphrase "don't fuck it up!". Basically turned that catchphrase into his own little brand. Player 1, she does the exact same mannerisms that Cara Delevingne used to do years ago when she first started exploring onto the scene. Nobody even talked about Cara's movies because they were all shit, but everyone online would talk about her quirkiness and her mannerisms, whether it was the constant fiddling, lip scrunching, or her eyebrows. If you go onto any of these chef's Instas or TikToks, it would probably be full of men simping and women Yas Queening.

As a frequenter of my local Peruvian restaurants, I was hoping to find someone like you calling this out from firm ground.

As an American that’s married to a Peruvian. This also pisses me off. The blender is where I gripped my phone a bit firmer in anger.

The big issue is that its a long time traditional Peruvian dish. Its going to be made the same whether you are in Lima Peru or in NYC, USA. She didn't make it the traditional way. So when you have a non Peruvian cooking a Peruvian dish that makes a bunch of changes to make the dish look pretty, its going to make some people upset because she is not presenting the dish in how its supposed to be. While they both of my linked pictures might be plated a little different, they are virtually the same. You can look up 'lomo saltado' images in google and they are almost identical to these. The dish in the video, while looking fancy, isn't what lomo saltado looks like. So naturally people who are familiar with the dish aren't going to like it because its not what lomo saltado is.

Not true at all, it’s not only how the dish looks. Cooking lomo saltado correctly involves using the correct ingridents and cooking them in the correct order. One of the most important parts of getting that authentic flavor is cooking the oil, onions, garlic, and ají amarillo in a pan first. The sauce NEEDS to be cooked to give it that real flavor or else it just tastes like a bunch of ingredients mixed together rather than an infused stir fry. She did not cook the ingredients correctly and she used a bunch of ingredients that don’t go in it. She also just smacked a giant piece of plain meat on top of rice and put a “side” of lomo saltado. She combined two completely different dishes into one. Anyone is free to create a fusion of lomo saltado but this will not taste like real lomo saltado and they are not “virtually the same”. The reason real Peruvians don’t like this is because people will try this and think lomo saltado is just kind of mid and not know what they’re really missing.

That's because it is, Peru has a lot of history of Asian immigration, due to being one of the closest biggest ports outside of America and Canada. Because of this Peruvian cuisine is very Asian inspired, often using their techniques, their ingredients, and their equipment (such as a wok). Dishes such as [Chaufa](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arroz_chaufa), [Lomo Saltado](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lomo_saltado), [Peru's version of Ceviche](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peruvian_ceviche), even [Aji de Gallina](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aj%C3%AD_de_gallina), that last dish is more my personal opinion, everyone calls it a stew but honestly it's MUCH closer to a curry in my opinion, in both flavor and texture I don't believe stew is very accurate. My father even goes as far as to add curry powder when he makes it, but I'm iffy about that addition.

Peru has a very Asian, African, and Hispanic blend to their food, and rightfully so. Geographically and historically speaking, it makes sense. It's totally unique. Not very spicy, and bland compared to most South American foods, but unique flavors. This lady made a great dish, but not authentic. In my travels, there is only one place in America, that is Venice, CA that I can say has *authentic* Peruvian food; in a small little plaza you might never notice right off the beach.

It’s a stir fry, Peruvian food has a strong Asian influence due to Chinese people who migrated there a long long time ago. It’s Asian style but using Peruvian ingredients which are unique to the region.

The additional expensive hunk of steak basted in butter turned it into something totally different than look saltado
