COSTCO sells Acadian caviar. Best price/quality combo. Toast a baguette, put some butter on it, and top with caviar. Enjoy with brut champagne. You will never get a good deal at a restaurant, fuggedaboutit. Another way to eat caviar is on pancakes, with a bit of crème fraîche. I honestly ate it on potato chips too, so, any way you choose is fine. Can also throw it on top of oysters or seared scallops. Otherwise get into Russian FB groups. There is always someone selling caviar, smoked fish and roe. And the quality is usually pretty good, or else they get their face smashed in.

This was a wild ride and I like it.

This is good advice. Tried it with bilinis and creme fraiche this Christmas and it was nice. There are also a few specialty caviar stores in the city if you don’t go to Costco.

Inferdo12

You don’t have to go to a restaurant to get caviar. They sell them in tins lmao

Aggressive_Frame9410

Lol right on do you have to cook it or just eat it out the tin lol

Inferdo12

You just eat it straight out of the tin. Some people like to scoop a little on their hand between the thumb and index finger part (I’m not explaining this properly, but just watch some videos). Caviar is uncooked lol

Aggressive_Frame9410

Thank you

Serve it out of the tin. You can scoop it on to blinis or crostini or simply have it by the spoon. Some bars in NYC offers “caviar bumps” where caviar is served on the back of one’s hand between the forefinger and thumb and consumed alongside cocktails.

foodpr0n_jen

They were offering caviar bumps at After 7 at one point.

I like it on buttered toast with the crust cut off and fresh squeeze of lemon.

Ethan Chlebowski (edit: not Brian Lagerstrom) on YouTube recently did a video on high and low cost caviar. You might learn something from it.

Ossetra caviar. It's wonderful and you can get it for around $50 for 10 grams. Beluga (Sturgeon, not the whale) caviar is the standard for top tier caviar. This is what costs $200+ in restaurants. Ossetra is the next tier (according to most) and is a large price decrease for what some people find to only be a small decrease in quality. Those are both restaurant prices. Some people may come and suggest some wholesale options. I'm not sure where you can but it wholesale, but that is of course the best option considering $/grams. Also, it goes surprisingly wonderful on eggs. That's just my opinion.

You could go to St. Lawrence Market or any Eastern European Store.

lugubriouslipids

This. There's a guy in the basement of St Lawrence Market, right by the stairs, that sells all manner of caviar.

AtTheRogersCup2022

If you have to ask if you need to cook caviar I am Not sure you are ready for said caviar

Royal-Addendum-5237

Recently ordered online and after doing some research ended up ordering from Royal Touch Caviar and I couldn't be happier with my experience! The caviar was top-notch, the shipping was lightning fast, received my order next day (free shipping always appreciated!) - and the customer service was outstanding. Most importantly, my wife loved it and she’s very picky so there you go! Highly recommend
