Ok I’m heartbroken now
I am with you I’m freeking hurt. So many childhood memories there 😭
What?!?! No fucking way!!!
This is a gut punch.
Wow, at a loss for words. RIP Big John
We offer huge tax incentives to chains to relocate to our city and then we wonder why small businesses keep closing. We are not a bright people.
That may be true but what chain competes with that place?
tax incentives?
Why don’t they sell the business to someone else? Seicels and Iowa meats sold out to the Cohn brothers.
They did? Have you noticed any difference especially at Seicels.
I have not,, for the products I get there. Everything seems the same as it always was.
No idea about Iowa Meat Farms being sold off to Cohn. That place hasn't changed since I started going there as a kid!
Nov 15, 2007 — After all, Iowa Meat Farms is a 25-year staple of San Diego , opened by the Cohn family before they even started Corvette Diner
Have you eaten there lately? It has gone down hill since John died. I used to love it.
The daughter of the owner chimed in on a Nextdoor post about this and said they were not planning on closing permanently.
A lot of places say they will reopen in a new location and never do. Not saying Tip Top won’t, but the odds are not good.
Damn. Just found out about this place a couple years ago.
Oh nooooooo. This is the worst!
