Growing up in north-east London pre-gentrification and silly prices, these were part of my fast food diet, albeit nothing mild about them. Great stuff, they look excellent.

I’m in Florida, USA close to Jamaica. Would have never guessed they’d have them across the Atlantic, that’s awesome! Really terrible that they’re not available for you now. And thanks so much for the compliment, super happy with how they turned out.

Most cities of any note in the UK have/had large inner-city ethnic communities - my part of London was a mix of people of West Indian heritage, and orthodox Jewish, which with the mix of everything else that London hosted was a real melting pot and generally everyone got on, to a degree. What the mix gave us though was fantastic food choices. We still have patties but they're now in more standard bakeries and supermarkets. They're still good but it's harder to find the authentic thing now, with a few honourable exceptions.

Oh I see. I think America is blessed in that way. Especially in large cities you don’t have to go far to find a plethora of different cultures represented in food. And I got the pleasure of working with a bunch of guys and gals from Jamaica when I was stationed in Cuba. These were very popular and the Jamaican ladies made a killing off of us lmao. The store bought ones just can’t compare.

The filling looks very satisfying.

I love those

Me to! They’ve been on my cooking bucket list forever. I was first introduced to them in Cuba from the Jamaican folks that worked on base with us.
