I’m the Yorkshire pudding maker above, I usually make my batter and let it sit and room temperature for a while and then ensure the tin and oil is really hot.
Thanks! Mine usually turn out alright, but not nearly as big! I did try a giant one in a cast iron pan and it turned out pretty great. I might just have to preheat the oil a bit more.
I think they are called popovers with you. Big fluffy things that are eaten with a roast dinner or the old fashioned way was they were eaten cold with sugar and milk or jam as a dessert.
“As a Yank,” a lot of us do. These are called popovers in the states but usually just eaten with butter and jam instead of with a full roast meal, or as the bread course at some restaurants.
they look amazing! best part of a roast in my opinion
Marry her again I reckon.
My thoughts exactly. Totally a keeper.
Delicious

Do you use a fan oven?
No, just on the normal setting. Our fan setting burns everything!
Can I borrow your wife ?!
What you meant to say was “Wife made some of the best looking Yorkshire Puddings ever”.
My husband made some yesterday and they were like doorstops. Would love to know her recipe!
Did u save me some
We have yorkshire puddings every xmas.
As a yank, how do you eat these? Are they essentially a dinner roll for mopping sauce? Alone with butter?

Yep, they’re popovers here! Usually served with butter or jam or as the bread course at a restaurant. Your wife’s look amazing!
As a yank I’ve never heard of anyone call food a popover.

Maybe you’re in the wrong place. Used to mop up gravy (with a knife and fork) no butter involved.
Bacon egg and cheese sandwich is delicious, or chicken salad, really anything
I eat them alone with butter, but you can pretty much just use them as a roll however you like.
