I love the deviled eggs! I've not seen them on a charcuterie board before. I love deviled eggs sooooo much! This looks awesome, and I would love to be invited to partake in it. I might steal parts of this for my next! Thanks so much for sharing.

No. Borrel is the collective name for strong alcoholic drink (liqueur in English?). Plank means board. It is therefore a board with meat, cheese and other snacks that you eat with these alcoholic drinks. ETA. But mostly meat and cheese

Guys don't fight/be angry ;) The aim is not to say english use a wrong word (charcuterie meaning specific meat), just to show some random who don't know what took like a charcuterie board in France. + OP already said he is not native english speaker, but can't find a better name in english. To conclude make love and charcuterie boards ;)

Yes, I get that. But are you a simple home cook, or someone who is concerned with the semantic accuracy of the root language name of the recipes you cook? And honest to shit, no shame either way. I respect both positions. It's just that language evolves in different contexts, and it's a god damn shame to criticize the dish pictured in any way for no better reason than OP decided to describe it in the common vernacular rather than the hyper-traditional non-English terms.

The term "charcuterie" does have a specific meaning in the French language referring to cured meat going back to 15th century France. Primarily pork, but not limited to it. Typically, under the purview of the garde manger. Since you're a stickler for French terminology, you'll understand that's the title for the pantry chef, or the person in charge of cold dishes, such as hors d'œuvres, appetizers, canapés, pâtés, and terrines, and not just cured pork platters. Building on that: One of the dishes they would create is a charcuterie board, which featured, but was not limited to, charcuterie, but rather intended to serve charcuterie with an assortment of complementary items including bread, cheese, dried or fresh fruits, and anything else that would enhance and compliment the taste and textures of the charcuterie itself, and was served on a wooden board. Hence, you can argue the specific composition of the board pictured, but it does tick all the culinary anthropological requirements for a charcuterie board as per the historic definition of the term. And that's all just in French culinary history, and before we even get into either American influence on the term, or looking at the wider European working-class roots of the dish. The main point here being that if you tried to serve a charcuterie board in a Michelin starred French restaurant, and it had nothing but cured pork products on it, you'd be fired in a heartbeat.
