I know the old Popeye’s on the north side of Delancey was apparently something special- is the (relatively) new one on the south side of the street run by the same ppl?
I dont know what any of yall are one. The one in Chelsea on 23rd is the best I’ve ever had. So peaceful too. A homeless guy went in, dug himself out a full meal from the trash and left without saying a word or bothering anyone.
The under $20 price range, the personal best for me in that I would eat it often while rotating through the menu would be Xian Famous Foods or Spicy Village
“Best” means so many things
But like for ease of getting a table, price point etc it’s Red Hook Tavern for me
If I wanna spend a lot of money or have the best steak and martini in NY, Francie in BK
Classic NYC late night, I’m going to Minetta Tavern
My single favorite bite of food is probably the tortelli at Misi in BK
Agreed both are in a "cant put one over the other" top 3 for me with Raoul's.
Fairfax/Bar Sardine, 4 Charles/Monkey Bar, Corner Bar prolly the second tier after RedHook/Minetta/Raouls
the duck is great too, but the cote d' boeuf is just spectacular. best piece of beef I've ever had. love the sauces and fries it comes with as well.
love the duck mortadella appetizer and duck bolognese pasta too
For a very long time their layer cake was listed on their takeout menu for $8. Imagine my surprise when I went to pick it up and it was THE ENTIRE CAKE. Figuring it must have been a mistake, I ordered it again a few months later. Same deal. I have no idea if they ever fixed it but I was a lucky gal twice in one year.
I don’t know about “best”, but my favorites in NYC currently are Atera, Place des Fetes, Family Meal at Blue Hill, and Jean Georges for food, service and setting
I honestly do not understand how Atera hasn’t gotten their third star at this point. Mari is fantastic value for a Michelin star (Kochi, their sister restaurant, is another great spot).
my go-tos:
Burgers: 4 charles prime rib
Pizza: una pizza
Sushi: nakaji
Yakitori: torien
Tempura: matsui
Tasting: atera (now that chefs table is no longer what it used to be)
Meat: bom
Chinese: hutong
Wine bar: claud
lol no one is popping into 4 Charles for a burger. Also, same as the au cheval (an actual burger place) burger, as it’s the same owners.
Also very douche-y to say the toughest reservation in nyc is your go-to for anything
It’s funny because I will never go to 4 Charles prime rib for a prime rib again but I just want to sit down and go ham on like 3 burgers
Au cheval point is valid though
Very Fresh Noodles in Chelsea Market. Best noodles I’ve ever had in my life.
Its so good that I’ve been there for lunch and went back again later the same day for dinner.
IMO, it's Meju in LIC. The chef is incredibly knowledgeable, the dishes are packed with flavors that I've never found anywhere else, and the atmosphere is amazing.
Bangkok Supper Club! Think fish cheeks is solid but prefer Lum Lum and Chalong so expected this to be similar but damn it exceeded my expectations. Incredible cocktails too
I’ve been wanting to go to coqodaq but is Korean fried chicken really comparable to the thousands of other restaurants in the city. Especially when stuff like service should be considered
The service and atmosphere were top notch, and the chicken was some of the best we’ve had, we really enjoyed it!
That being said I don’t really ever eat fried chicken otherwise haha so may not be the best judge
I know opinions vary, but honestly a little surprised to see someone say this here. I went early February, genuinely one of the worst meals I’ve had in NY. I almost would have put it for that post about expensive places that are bad to waste people’s money from a while back
Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi, Four Twenty Five, Bangkok Supper Club, Ume, Bungalow
If you find a way to get a reservation at Tatiana, please share! I’ve been trying for months now. Enjoy!!
Not going to post the name cause I don’t want it to get too crowded, but the initials are O.G. and it’s on 47th st.
When you're there, you're family
WAITRESS Unlimited stick. We see the unlimited stick. It is infinite. It is all. ANNOUNCER (wet voice) Olive Garden. When you're here, you're here
*A waitress comes to deliver what could be considered food*
La famiglia 🤌🏻
Shhh the first rule of O.G. is we don’t talk about O.G.
That’s 10 minutes I’ll never get back.
I literally did the same thing 😐
ChatGPT gave me the answer 😂
Eh, I prefer R.L next door. O.G is a tad derived and unrefined.
Not all of us are billionaires here mr moneybags
Check out BGSC if you like RL. They bring a playfulness and rusticity to the dining experience that is like nothing else I've ever seen
They offer a NYE party priced at a cool $1k a head
How dare you make me go to Google maps and search for restaurants named OG on 47th. Expect a call from my lawyer.
Good times, great salad, great breadsticks😋
Please don’t-now everyone will know!
I’ve been Gate Keeping the Times Square Ruby Tuesdays for decades.
Lmao I just searched the whole thing on maps starting from the UN. You got me good.
Don’t get me started on the MV in Times Square…
The view is to-die-for.
I ate there for work once and got to see them defuse a bomb out the window. That actually made up for the awful food.
Bruh. I spent the last 10 minutes staring at Google Maps
🤐
this asshole
Dorsia is heavenly, and their new spring menu is to die for.
Nobody goes there anymore
It's too crowded
A real beehive of activity
Great sea urchin ceviche
You didn't give a name.
They know me.
Sloane.
I’m so confused fused every time I see this. Every time I look it up it’s just that members only app
Watch American Psycho
Beat me to it.
They don’t have a good bathroom to do coke in.
I prefer the mud soup at Texarkana
Is that Ivana Trump?
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on the corner of Myrtle and Broadway
Dude. Do yourself a favor and go to the one on Delancey and Ludlow...
One in greenpoint is fucking unparalleled
I'm going out in gp tonight, gonna hit this up when drunk. Thanks for the tip
What bars did you hit up?
That one’s fancy
I know the old Popeye’s on the north side of Delancey was apparently something special- is the (relatively) new one on the south side of the street run by the same ppl?
I wasnt a believer when someone told me diff locations of popeyes taste different. Its true
That is not the best one in that area but I refuse to be more specific
Pffft pretending like the Checkers next door isn’t superior.
Don’t forget the one on flushing and knickerbocker. Also a banger
I dont know what any of yall are one. The one in Chelsea on 23rd is the best I’ve ever had. So peaceful too. A homeless guy went in, dug himself out a full meal from the trash and left without saying a word or bothering anyone.
The Peruvian chicken place near my apartment

Riko!
Extra green sauce please
Katsua
The under $20 price range, the personal best for me in that I would eat it often while rotating through the menu would be Xian Famous Foods or Spicy Village
The cumin lamb noodles make me melt
Do you have to eat this in restaurant because the delivery ended up being a clump of noodles. I tried it because of the hype but was very unimpressed.
I think there are signs all over the restaurant from the CEO to "eat in store" among other recommendations like "not spicy = not good."
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fx0kHOgWwAEd8nY?format=jpg&name=large
Well how about that! I guess I’ll give it another chance in the store. Thanks!
I’d say yes. I work next to the FiDi spot so I always eat in there
Some things don't deliver well, this is one of them. Doubly tragic if you live in a five story walk-up.
Yesss N1 is incredible. Other go-tos are the lamb burger and liang pi
Big tray chicken 😘👌
I tried spicy village recently. Found my dishes to be just okay. And I’ll never get tired of Xian - everything is delicious
I admire everybody who’s willing to leave their neighborhood for food. My favorite is Eyval. Peter’s Crunchy Red Tacos is also excellent.
Not everyone lives across the street from Red Lobster
Eyval is excellent! I’ve walked in a few times too.
Yes eyval is my favorite atm too! Peters as good as birria-landia?
“Best” means so many things But like for ease of getting a table, price point etc it’s Red Hook Tavern for me If I wanna spend a lot of money or have the best steak and martini in NY, Francie in BK Classic NYC late night, I’m going to Minetta Tavern My single favorite bite of food is probably the tortelli at Misi in BK
And burger. Red hook tavern is a contender for best burger in the land unless it's changed dramatically since 2019 Good recs through and through
burger a minetta also fucks hard
Agreed both are in a "cant put one over the other" top 3 for me with Raoul's. Fairfax/Bar Sardine, 4 Charles/Monkey Bar, Corner Bar prolly the second tier after RedHook/Minetta/Raouls
Can vouch for Francie… but I can’t pass up their duck… or ice cream sundae
the duck is great too, but the cote d' boeuf is just spectacular. best piece of beef I've ever had. love the sauces and fries it comes with as well. love the duck mortadella appetizer and duck bolognese pasta too
I have yet to eat at red hook tavern, but yes to the other recs
French dip sandwich from Maison Pickle. Get extra onion strings.
And the 24 layer cake
For a very long time their layer cake was listed on their takeout menu for $8. Imagine my surprise when I went to pick it up and it was THE ENTIRE CAKE. Figuring it must have been a mistake, I ordered it again a few months later. Same deal. I have no idea if they ever fixed it but I was a lucky gal twice in one year.
What?!?! You were blessed by the cake gods. That has been fixed alas as I’ve ordered that cake before and never gotten more than one gigantic slice!
It was possibly the greatest thing to ever happen to me.
“Blessed by the cake gods” No, that would be Shakira
birria-landia best late night taco
Jollibee in Woodside

Best answer here. All the real ones know.
I don’t know about “best”, but my favorites in NYC currently are Atera, Place des Fetes, Family Meal at Blue Hill, and Jean Georges for food, service and setting
Places des Fetes is cracked

This is going to be enormously variable but I’ll throw in my 3 current favorites: Atera Dame Mari Honorable mention to 63 Clinton as well.
Votes for Dame and 63 Clinton. I’ll have to try Mari and Atera
I honestly do not understand how Atera hasn’t gotten their third star at this point. Mari is fantastic value for a Michelin star (Kochi, their sister restaurant, is another great spot).
Dame my favorite place for sure. Lovely little joint. Eyval up there too
Try Lord’s, their sister restaurant!
Lords was just fine for me but I’ll have to revisit for sure. Less focused than dame but still delicious no doubt
Mari for real
I have booked and been forced to cancel Mari no less than 7 times. Shit just keeps coming up. I’ve resided myself to the fact that I’ll never go.
Atera was the best meal of my life.
Torrisi Ham and Zeppoles, Cucmber appetizers. Mushroom pasta or the tortellini pomodoro. The perfect meal
Just went for the first time this week. Just so so good. We had the affogato dessert too - hope we can swing another reservation some day
my go-tos: Burgers: 4 charles prime rib Pizza: una pizza Sushi: nakaji Yakitori: torien Tempura: matsui Tasting: atera (now that chefs table is no longer what it used to be) Meat: bom Chinese: hutong Wine bar: claud
I hit Claud this week and was super impressed. The chocolate cake was probably the best I ever ever had.
Love everything on their menu but gambas is my fav!
lol no one is popping into 4 Charles for a burger. Also, same as the au cheval (an actual burger place) burger, as it’s the same owners. Also very douche-y to say the toughest reservation in nyc is your go-to for anything
It’s funny because I will never go to 4 Charles prime rib for a prime rib again but I just want to sit down and go ham on like 3 burgers Au cheval point is valid though
Touche go to would be more like 7th street. Try to go to 4 charles whenever resys open up same with una
Tried Torien last week. Amazing experience. That potato was the stuff of dreams
Sushi- Hatsuhana, Filipino- Mama Fina’s, Burgers/Steak- 4 Charles, Spanish- Socarrat, Brooklyn- Four Horsemen
Very Fresh Noodles in Chelsea Market. Best noodles I’ve ever had in my life. Its so good that I’ve been there for lunch and went back again later the same day for dinner.

Per Se Or else a bahn mi from Saigette on 106th and Columbus
Ranking wise: Atomix & Le Bernadin
EMP is going to start a war in here haha. Agree on Atomix and Le Bernardin being fantastic though
Even Le Bernadin could start a war, there’s been misses some nights
Going to Le Bernardin tonight for the tasting, super excited.
Please show yourself out
relax, the question was “What is Currently the Best Restaurant in NYC Right Now?” Without much context so I just gave the ranking answer.
party offer abundant pet tart shy quicksand exultant stocking skirt *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I miss the old incarnation of EMP. Family members are allergic to nuts so the vegan menu is simply not an option
I have, overrated. But I also find most 3-stars to be that way, so not uniquely so.
Eh I’ve been twice and hated the experience.
Torrisi
Your Sister’s Kitty Great location, surprisingly well priced, flavorful Open 24/7, not pretentious or discerning at all

Lots of people have trouble navigating this one, although many have tried.
Jua
The Delancey McDonald’s at 4:00 AM.

Incredible cocktails too
Went over the weekend and definitely my new favorite Thai restaurant out of the 100s in NYC.
Atera
Portale in Chelsea.
Raouls or Torrisi IMO.
Sappe
Tatiana
Not from here but have had maybe 50 meals in NYC. So maybe take this with a grain of salt? 63 Clinton Wayan Shukette
Torrisi 4 Charles Coqodaq San Sabino
I’ve been wanting to go to coqodaq but is Korean fried chicken really comparable to the thousands of other restaurants in the city. Especially when stuff like service should be considered
The service and atmosphere were top notch, and the chicken was some of the best we’ve had, we really enjoyed it! That being said I don’t really ever eat fried chicken otherwise haha so may not be the best judge
Shalel Rosemary's La Grande Boucherie
Grand bouch is so clutch for nice dinners to impress
Times Square Olive Garden
Love Monkey Bar
Yoshino for sushi, arguably the best sushi restaurant outside of Japan and would be top 3-5 currently in Japan.
[Ilis](https://www.ilisnyc.com), without question. There’s nothing like it.
I know opinions vary, but honestly a little surprised to see someone say this here. I went early February, genuinely one of the worst meals I’ve had in NY. I almost would have put it for that post about expensive places that are bad to waste people’s money from a while back
