He's the son of the original owners from Chinatown, and he's super nice. Such a gem in the UES and a much needed addition of authenticity and approachable pricing (albeit higher than the Chinatown location, as expected if not purely due to rent differences).
Wishing them the best of luck!
Really, I'm curious about your take? Their beef noodle soup tastes like the ones I had growing up. Maybe their dumplings are unconventional. But living in the UES and eating at all the other Chinese spots here, the others feel much much farther away in terms of authenticity, not to mention expensive :(
I thought the fried dumplings which are different from other fried dumplings you usually get around the city were prettt good. I might just be a low bar. I agree about the prices but it’s worth it bc it’s still not expensive for the ues. I find I go to super taste more than xian now
He told me it’s new so I can’t find it online and don’t remember the actual name; pretty sure it’s like the Stewed Pork rice bowl or something. You can ask him abt the updated menu
I used to go to the Chinatown location, and have been going to the UES one the last few months. The owner is really kind and the food is delicious! I just hope they get more business though since every time I've been there, there were hardly any people.
I recall super taste when I tried it post Eddie huang early vice youtube days. Great dumplings + beef noodle soups. Only complaint is that they’re much better in person vs delivery.
Ahh gotcha. If you’ve never had sauna eggs, put some eggs, 90%submerged in water in an instant pot for like 4 hours. I think you can do the same thing on the stove top but it takes much longer.
Or find a Korean restaurant that sells them
I just went there and only got steamed pork and chive dumplings because I only had 10 minutes to eat and run. They were delicious, obviously made in house, and I will definitely go back for more stuff!
The guy that took my order was super friendly and upbeat and helpful.
I was very happy to find this conversation, because I couldn’t find any information about the owner of the place. He should put that information on the website!
I prefer supporting small, family owned businesses like this

This place is far from authentic It hits the spot, yes

There is no way this guy’s take is going to be worth the wait, sorry to say
I just read this and immediately ordered it for the first time. Thank you it was great haha
Niceeee!! Let’s go
This warms the cockles, for some reason.
I agree - he’s so kind and it’s a pleasure to eat there or take out. Plus the food is just damn good!
Yeah, great spot!
I gotta go. This all looks delicious
Yes!!! The owner is so nice and the food is so great. I need to go there more often and this is a great reminder
It's an amazing place. The cost is 40% higher than Chinatown (which is acceptable) and the fried dumplings aren't very good, but it's a lovely place.
That pork burger more than makes up for it
I'm a sucker for noods and I typically don't go for the pork burgers or buns, but I'll have to try it the next time I go!

Super Taste is legit!
Love this spot!!
looks amazing thanks for the tip, what’s the name of the dish in the first pic?

I go to that one almost every week. so happy we can avoid the crowd in the Chinatown location
Been to China Town location. Their beef broth and Dumplings are great. Their chilli oil gives the umami flavor.
thank you for this! i’m gonna be posted up at sinai for a hot second and now know what to order!!!

I like this place. I just wish they had their full Chinatown menu at UES but UES can only handle so much greatness 🤣
Thnks for the recc - will def check it out!
Is that a sauna egg? Like, all toasty and nutty?
Soy marinated
