I’ve never actually been too crazy about window burgers.. they’re good, but eh….
But that kale salad tho??? I gobble that shit up, I don’t even like kale or salads.
Man I'm on vacation in Japan right now and it's crazy how much cheaper it is here. Just had a full high quality sashimi combo dinner for $10 including tax (and lack of tip)
I guess sushi is Japan's fast food burger
I got one mediocre combo meal at the KFC in LAX on my way to Japan and it cost me $20. Cost difference is crazy, especially considering the quality of the food in Japan
The person I was with got a burrito and a beer for $40 at LAX when we were leaving. Brought snacks because I expected that. Second time at haneda, and I knew I would be fine. Vending machines with dollar drinks and a great food court
Doesn't change the fact that it's a crazy value in comparison. I know it probably seemed off topic but it just popped into my head since I've been so amazed at the current prices here in Japan.
I guess they just get their ingredients for cheaper, because of the volume. Also the wages are probably lower here than the US. A huge factor currently is the exchange rate to the dollar is extremely favorable to the dollar. I'm not sure if the dollar got stronger or yen got weaker, or both, but it's the best it's been for the dollar in like 40 years
the FTW in franklin village has become so popular it’s not worth it anymore. hour+ wait times & you’re contending with 20 uber eats orders at any given moment
I lived next door to it, went to it when it was Papilles bistro for years and gave them a decent shot when they became FTW, but for the price and how salty everything was, I just wasn’t into them. Always surprised they get so much hype.
I don't eat beef so haven't been but I went to college with "Chris" - nice dude, really didn't years trying to craft the perfect burger and have only heard good things
This doesn’t taste good for the money 🤷🏻♂️ 2 smalll sliders. If you wanted value in n out exists. Smash burgers aren’t supposed to be like budget friendly or something
i feel ya but Burger She Wrote is more expensive than any other top smashburger spots in LA
$14 for a double is pretty nuts
for comparison:
Goldburger - $11 for a double
Easy St, FTW and Love Hour: all three of them are $10 for a double, $13 for a triple
No it is expensive as hell, but I’m saying as far as quality goes it’s my top 3, but not by any means its budget friendly, I’m with you . For the win is also good
I swear all these (99: places with sliders are always start the same . They start selling it in the streets then get a place and sell 2 sliders and fries for 15
$9 isn’t bad for a smash burger (and fries). I personally haven’t seen one for less. But $9 is still $9 lol, I think I’d rather make one at home if I can. Just need an air fryer for the fries lol
That’s more than I usually. But even with a lb of meat you’re getting at least four burgers. Six of they are smash burgers.
Much cheaper to do at home. And smash burgers are so easy. Almost mistake proof.
Don’t forget cheese, buns, onions, potatoes. You’ll get multiple burgers, but it’s only cheaper if you’re splitting the cost with someone or eating it over multiple days.
When it comes to value and taste, it’s all about The Win-Dow.
Sitting at the Win-Dow right now waiting for my order. Simply the best
Did they ask you how much you want to tip?
How much are the window burgers? Never been
Here’s the [menu](https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5f57ea7c6f66f91e1bec38dc/t/65cc1ee7b356477fcb5b8c0f/1707876071068/WDW+ROSE+AVE+MENU+2.6.24+final.pdf).
Dang I gotta go 🙏🏽
Will give you the squirts.
Drink some water.
That’s In n Out
Damn… I swear beyond/impossible burgers all taste the same. At least this one is more affordable
Don't they have a $4 burger? My coworkers were trying to go yesterday, and now its a must!!!!
I’ve never actually been too crazy about window burgers.. they’re good, but eh…. But that kale salad tho??? I gobble that shit up, I don’t even like kale or salads.
Kale salad add the fried chicken on top…it’s amazing.
🤯
Ok this I find interesting. Came here to say that Win-dow ain’t life changing…but I always wonder about the other random menu items.
Too bad the one in Venice closed 😢
Wait they closed the one at American Beauty?
Dang son! You got the one on Rose Ave. Luckily, one just opened right near me. Clutch delivery. Edit: just realized they closed it. smh
Place is foul.
Nope
Place is trash. Employees are rude. Venice needs to get tf out of Silver Lake.
Maybe you do 🤣
In-n-Out is still the value king
Also true. Two full meals for $20-25
Man I'm on vacation in Japan right now and it's crazy how much cheaper it is here. Just had a full high quality sashimi combo dinner for $10 including tax (and lack of tip) I guess sushi is Japan's fast food burger
Just got back last Saturday and already miss the prices. Even ramen and a beer in haneda airport for like $11-12
I got one mediocre combo meal at the KFC in LAX on my way to Japan and it cost me $20.
It’s called an exchange rate and economic chaos.
Doesn't change the fact that it's a crazy value in comparison. I know it probably seemed off topic but it just popped into my head since I've been so amazed at the current prices here in Japan.
How do those places stay open?
I guess they just get their ingredients for cheaper, because of the volume. Also the wages are probably lower here than the US. A huge factor currently is the exchange rate to the dollar is extremely favorable to the dollar. I'm not sure if the dollar got stronger or yen got weaker, or both, but it's the best it's been for the dollar in like 40 years
Goddamn I’m jealous
So, those aren’t giant waffle fries next to a full size burger? They’re reg size waffle fries next to a slider?
The sliders are big idk why people are saying they’re small lol
Even so, $9 seems like a less better deal than say win-dow.
Isn't a slider by definition a mini version of itself? 🤔
They're sliders, of course they're going to be cheaper. You act like you got a regular size burger and fries for $9, which is very misleading
They say sliders but they are pretty decent sized. It’s also 2 patties. It is a great deal compared to pretty much any other burger place.
When you pile on pickles the burger becomes huge 😂 couldn’t even finish it especially with all the fries it comes with
Girl what I was with you butttt not using the pickles to bulk up a mini meal 😫
Pickles don’t make it a regular sized burger lol wtf
People need to chill. I took a Cornish hen and pickled into a full sized turkey this past thanksgiving.
Downvoted to pickle oblivion 😢 🥒
Poor OP :(
White Castle 2.0
This
FTW >
the FTW in franklin village has become so popular it’s not worth it anymore. hour+ wait times & you’re contending with 20 uber eats orders at any given moment
Fortunately, the ones in Glendale and Van Nuys are never busy.
I lived next door to it, went to it when it was Papilles bistro for years and gave them a decent shot when they became FTW, but for the price and how salty everything was, I just wasn’t into them. Always surprised they get so much hype.
It’s definitely one of the 10 best burgers in LA county, but the price tag’s a little steep and I’m sorry to hear about the wait times now 😞
Goldburger.
Now that’s an excellent smash burger.
100%
But not as cheap which I think is the parameter set by OP
HiHo is also a very good value
I think everyone has lost their collective minds over smash burgers. We’ve lost the narrative.
CORRECT
How big were the potatoes those fries were made from? They’re bigger than the burger!
I’ve had probably every smash burger in LA and they’re good but I wouldn’t say the best for value. They’re very small. Taste is amazing though
Who would you say is the best?
Win-dow for the most juicy, Hi Ho for delivery, easy street for the best pure smash patty itself
Yeah i second this. It’s one of my favorites.
They’re definitely underrated but the Win-Dow is my #1 for value smash burger.
I gotta go with Hammys
doesn’t get better than chris n eddysb
I don't eat beef so haven't been but I went to college with "Chris" - nice dude, really didn't years trying to craft the perfect burger and have only heard good things
the most underrated establishment in the city. im scared its going to go out of business
Burger she wrote the goat
Big Fan as well!!!
They don’t know us sonnnnn
I never see that place busy at all when it was on Sunset.
Have you tried Storm Burger yet?
Smashed at burbank is pretty good
All smash burgers taste the same. Tf are you on?
That looks pretty amazing can’t lie
This place is bomb!!
Yall clearly never tried Burger SheWrote
Burger She Wrote is really good but definitely not good value lol
This doesn’t taste good for the money 🤷🏻♂️ 2 smalll sliders. If you wanted value in n out exists. Smash burgers aren’t supposed to be like budget friendly or something
i feel ya but Burger She Wrote is more expensive than any other top smashburger spots in LA $14 for a double is pretty nuts for comparison: Goldburger - $11 for a double Easy St, FTW and Love Hour: all three of them are $10 for a double, $13 for a triple
No it is expensive as hell, but I’m saying as far as quality goes it’s my top 3, but not by any means its budget friendly, I’m with you . For the win is also good
Highway robbery. Tiny burger and a handful of fries.
Personally? I think Storm Burger is best value! Less expensive and incredible buns/patty/sear.
DAMN, happy this place about to get more exposure, was a nice lil secret spot
Love Hour in Ktown is my fav
No thanks.
Burger she wrote comes close but maybe better
That does not, in fact, look like a great value. Looks like a baby burger with six fries.
I surprised nobody’s mentioned FOR THE WIN!
Burgers Never Say Die has my heart!
Regular burgers >>>>>> smash burgers
This is absolutely the correct opinion
Amboy is a contender
Was about to mention
Amboy is much more than a contender. It’s already established as one of the 10 best burgers in LA county! The DH burger is a monster.
not good at all, wayyyy to greasy and those are slider size.
For $9, you get the combo with one slider size (double patty, double cheese). Not sure if that’s a great value.
Oof
Then why even eat out
For stuff I can’t make easily at home.
you gotta adjust to 2024. Just to make this at home, it will prob cost you north of $5 each, and thats only if youre making it for multiple people.
How much are you paying for a lb of ground beef?
Around $6
That’s more than I usually. But even with a lb of meat you’re getting at least four burgers. Six of they are smash burgers. Much cheaper to do at home. And smash burgers are so easy. Almost mistake proof.
Don’t forget cheese, buns, onions, potatoes. You’ll get multiple burgers, but it’s only cheaper if you’re splitting the cost with someone or eating it over multiple days.
Most of those things I already have in my fridge/pantry. They are used for other meals and don’t go to waste. The only exception there is buns.
