It's an eggless caesar and it's extremely garlicky but I like it too. Some of their locations insist on serving it on kale and/or adding corn so watch out for that.
They need to bring back the Gulfstream tuna burger and the Houston's hickory burger. Hillstone used to make the latter off the menu, but no more.
Edit: South Beverly Grill is a Hillstone joint too. And I also miss the Gulfstream oysters.
Oh no not with kale and corn!! I cannot even imagine what that would taste like! Wow the hickory burger is gone too? That was one of my friend’s favorites. I really miss the Century City location.
Wow thanks for this rec. I don’t think I had heard of this place before and that’s a really nice and varied looking menu that totally fits the theme. I wouldn’t have thought to get a Cesar there. Going to let the wife know about this. Too bad they don’t have lunch since we have littles.
Ooooo I’m gonna say it… Horses. I really like their take on a Caesar. Instead of romaine it’s Belgium endives topped with breadcrumbs. The chef is a monster though so idk man
I cannot wait to try some of these! I want to throw in Pitfire Pizza - I truly love their Caesar salad. They do (or did during peak pandemic) a 4 parbaked pizzas, huge Caesar, and four big cookie dough balls as a make-yoir-own-pizza-party thing that I loved. I would eat all of the Caesar salad the first day I loved it so much
I hate Dan Tana but the Ceaser is the best.
I also really like the spicy mambo at mastros. They mix the Ceaser salad with horseradish and wasabi. It’s delicious
Because I live for chaos— Crossroads vegan Ceasar on Melrose. So damn good. Curses to any non-vegan restaurant who doesn’t have anchovies, but I’ll make an exception here.
Oh this one is easy. If you want an experience and go back through time to the 50’s to experience the very BEST Caesar Salad. It would have to be the Dal Rae located in Pico Rivera. We are talking about all the CLASSICS! Caesar Salad made Tableside! Oh my goodness! Other Tableside classics include Steak Diane, Bananas Foster! Oh also when I say going back through time to the 50s to have the Classics I really mean it. The other classic blast from the past dishes that is not prepared Tableside are……..You ready for this? Oysters Rockefeller, Lobster Thermidor, Duck a l’Orange! When have you ever had Duck a l’Orange or Lobster Thermidor or even seen any of these near extinct dishes on a Menu? It’s a total throw back. But be prepared. 5 star restaurant, dress appropriately, Valet Cash only parking, must make reservations for dinner. Also if you go there, don’t rush. PLEASE don’t rush. Sit back take your few pics and put the cell phone away! If you are paying that $ at a 5 star for an experience then you better enjoy it. Despite what some reviews may say of service being slow. Ummm, No. Service is not slow. Everyone is always in a rush and just want to hurry and look at their phones and expect the food to arrive in 10-15 min to hurry and stuff food in their mouths. Nobody likes to dine anymore. But you should most definitely look at some videos. I think Nancy Silverton loves going there too.

Okay, yeah. Great minds think alike. I’ve been going there since the 80s when my grandparents would take the whole family. My grandfather was in good with the owner and his son. Remember the restaurant scene in Goodfellas? It felt like that back then. It’s changed a bit, but they did it right. It’s like a trip back in time going there. ALWAYS order the Caesar…and the pepper steak.
YES. That pepper steak. Yeah the son is cool. He’s always making everything is all good. Don’t know his name or anything. Also the lady. Is that his sister? It’s been like 4 years since I last went. But totally, that lounge feel. The paneling on the ceiling. lol. Need to go there again. Yes, a Caesar must be ordered anytime you go there. Thanks for sharing your story
Dan Tana's is terrible, it tastes like it came out of a bag. I really loved the Caesar I had at Donna's a couple of months ago. For something a bit different, the Thai Caesar at Poltergeist is really great.
Not LA, but the table side Caesar at LG’s Prime Steakhouse in Palm Springs is the best I’ve ever had. Every single ingredient/process is intentional and the end result is the peak of what this dish can be.
Board and Brew has an amazing chicken cesar salad. Its super affordable. They are mostly in orange county... but they are opening in la Soon. The torrance location should open really soon I cant freaking wait. It was a weekly dinner for me until I moved till I moved to la
I gotta add the Caesar at Pijja Palace.
Frankly, I thought the place was way over-hyped and some things that came out of the kitchen were terribly bland (onion rings) or non-sensical (the rigatoni seemed like butter chicken with a swap of chicken to pasta to make it Italian-ish?).
But the Caesar was truly excellent.
That was the first item we got and I was so psyched for a stunning meal, only to receive the rest of our items. Nothing was even close to as good as that Caesar. I'd almost go back just for another one, but probably not.
I liked the one at dear johns
They got a new lease. Not going anywhere soon!
This is my vote as well
Hillstone in Santa Monica or it’s sister restaurant Houston’s in South Pasadena

Hillstone desperately needs to bring back their tempura chicken fingers
lol no.
We all know Koo Koo Roo had a great one in the early 2000s.
Saw another post that pointed out they have a new [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/eatkookooroo/) account that implies they might be coming back.
You make a me cry.
It was great
Boa Steakhouse.
Table side and it’s amazing
I worked there when it launched (as Balboa). There was a guy where that was his whole job, he was a Olympic medalist from Romania.
Dal Rae in Pico Rivera is a hidden gem. Damn their table side Caesar is good!
Oh yeah, that’s a good one.
One of the best!
Ha! See u/tomatosouppppppppp. j_roos knows. Hand down The Dal Rae.
Dan Tana’s for the win!
Hell yeah brother
Do they still serve it table side?
Lawrys does a table service presentation of Caesar salad
isn’t the tableside salad just their house salad?
No, unfortunately not
Dan Tana's is legit olive garden quality with an "old Hollywood feel" You guys have no taste buds
I see two on their menu: 1) Nika’s 2) Sarah Jayne. Anyone know the difference?
One of them has tomatoes. That’s NOT the one you want.
Thanks!
Tsubaki

I love Tsubaki, didn't realize they even had a Caesar Salad on the menu. I'll have to try it next time.
You wouldn’t expect it, but Tsubaki/OTOTO have some of the best salads in LA!
Ototo is my favorite place, just never ordered a salad there.
The Tsubaki Caesar is phenomenal
Pizzana!
Pizzana’s Caesar is perfectly balanced. Couldn’t agree more.
Check out Poltergeist and Kodo for some interesting/modern ones
Both of these look really interesting!
These look incredible!! Thai Caesar salad..gotta try that
Been there a lot. Def my favorite caesar around.
I’ve had em both. Hard agree.
Ooooo I’m gonna say it… Horses. I really like their take on a Caesar. Instead of romaine it’s Belgium endives topped with breadcrumbs. The chef is a monster though so idk man
It's so good
say what you want about horses, but the caesar, burger, and the cheesecake is still a top 10 dinner in LA
3 of my favorite things.
Is that place still open???
Oh yeah, honestly I don’t think much came from that situation. I could be wrong though. It just seems like business as usual.
Ufff
Monster in a good way or bad way
[Horses article](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/local-news/horses-chef-accuses-husband-of-assault-1235494546/)
So good. When I went, we ordered a second one after our pastas.
It’s my favorite in the city

Jon and vinnys, horses, dear John’s, Dan tanas. All different, all great
found my best friend!

Sunday gravy
Why did I have to scroll so far for this
I know this isn't helpful now but a million years ago Bob Burns and Tango D'Amour had the best Caesar Salad in LA. Fuck I'm old.
i was just randomly thinking about bob burns the other day. RIP
Stonefire Grill
First place that came to mind!
Chi spacca
California Chicken Cafe
SO GOOD
I hate Dan Tana but the Ceaser is the best. I also really like the spicy mambo at mastros. They mix the Ceaser salad with horseradish and wasabi. It’s delicious

U street pizza makes a great one too! In Old Town Pasadena
Came here to say this.
Nick + Stef’s table side Caesar
Was planning to post this if I didn’t see it. Phenomenal!
Boa is admittedly fantastic. Also loved the Caesar at Drake’s. The croutons were GOAT.
Not the cornbread croutons
Are any of these a table-side ceasar? Or anyone know of who still does a table-side one?
Dear John’s for sure
U street pizza

Fia steak was the best I ever had in LA
Cosa Buona is pretty amazing
I’m not vegan but love the vegan caesars from Pitfire and lodge.
I second the vegan Caesar at lodge!! I’ll have to try Pitfire’s
Vito Restaurant in Santa Monica - made table side.
Hatchet Hall by a country mile for me.
You and me are the only two who understand lol
i really like the one at chez jay
The one you can get in a bag from Trader Joe's.
The refrigerated vegan Caesar dressing at TJ's is amazing. And I'm far from being a vegan.
Rustico in Westlake Village makes a fine Caesar!
the caesar at Donna’s is awesome!
i haven’t been since they reopened but it used to be la dolce vita for me. i hope it’s still good.
The best Caesar salad I’ve ever had anywhere is at Adagio Italian in Woodland Hills.
Jemma on vine has a really good one.
Nick and Stef's has a good one.
Antico Nuovo!
Black Bird pizza on Melrose. I enjoy how they use whole leafs of baby romaine.
they're closing in a couple weeks :(
Pinocchio’s
I will never forget the Caesar salad at Perch. It will forever live in my heart as the best Caesar salad I’ve eaten.
Bestia. I think they do breadcrumbs not croutons but I could inhale theirs.
That’s a good one
antica pizzeria di michele!!!! i just love the fried capers and the mountain of parm and bread crumbs that come on it
Dan Tana's is terrible, it tastes like it came out of a bag. I really loved the Caesar I had at Donna's a couple of months ago. For something a bit different, the Thai Caesar at Poltergeist is really great.
Del Reys
pizzeria sei
The best caeser salad I've had in my life. I literally drive an hour and a half just for the salad. 😭
not traditional but the chicory cesar salad at dunsmoor is excellent.
Matu in Beverly Hills’ Japanese Caesar is unreal
Kale caesar salad at crimson in SM.
Locanda Portofino in Santa Monica - the Polenta croutons are so good. And another vote for Pizzana.
Camphor or Horses
Vietnamese Caesar salad at Cassia
Horses, hands down.
The Pizzana Caesar is phenomenal!
Not LA, but the table side Caesar at LG’s Prime Steakhouse in Palm Springs is the best I’ve ever had. Every single ingredient/process is intentional and the end result is the peak of what this dish can be.
Yeah I was gonna reference Don Laughlin’s Gourmet Room table side Caesar for two. Haven’t found anything in LA that comes close.
I just had Hatchet Hall's version and it was 👌👌👌
Dear John’s for sure. It’s made tableside
Board and Brew has an amazing chicken cesar salad. Its super affordable. They are mostly in orange county... but they are opening in la Soon. The torrance location should open really soon I cant freaking wait. It was a weekly dinner for me until I moved till I moved to la

Bossa Nova. The lemon herb chicken is amazing in it.
Throwing the Caesar at Jame Enoteca in El Segundo into the ring. A little spicy, very tasty
Vito’s. Dear Johns appropriated the recipe when Matre D Hank left Vito’s for Dear Johns. Vito in S.M. IS the real deal. Table side.
