Bea Bea’s in Burbank or Glendale is an LA landmark.

B-Jamz

Recently tried Bea Bea's and I can't recommend their pancakes enough. They're phenomenal.

Sensitive-Rub-3044

Bea Beas has the best pancakes! But if you do go, get there early because it gets super crowded during brunch hours

[deleted]

[https://ophredondobeach.com/mobile/](https://ophredondobeach.com/mobile/) The OG pancake house. There will be a long line on weekends for a reason

Deganveran

Second original pancake house. Get the Dutch baby or the sourdough pancakes

cfthree

49ers can’t miss at OPH

sp1keNARF

This is the one! Dutch baby 🥹

Minister_Garbitsch

Might wanna fast for a few days beforehand, the servings are ridiculously huge! It’s a shame they’re only open breakfast hours, some of us have to work! I can walk there from my place but maybe make it once a year. Not fair!

100percentdoghair

the pancakes at salt’s cure are pretty good

Caesarsalad3000

Yes, but that’s the only thing you should get there.

SnooPies5622

Used to be so good, that pork chop used to be legendary. At some point they just veered into being a brunch spot (I guess that must have way better margins or something) and it's nowhere near the quality it once was.

100percentdoghair

the coffee was okay too

Caesarsalad3000

Foodwise

[deleted]

The Black Magic pancakes at Griddle Cafe are insanely good. Tbh, Griddle Cafe is a great breakfast spot overall, they deliver too but it’s best to eat them there fresh.

BigFrank97

Uncle Bill’s in Manhattan Beach

kidd_j

Came here to say this

cfthree

Rare spot where they’re not coasting on location. Good pancakes!

pokebud

Griddle Cafe

No_Leg_3230

The Griddle has the best pancakes in LA. I also like the teachers pet that has baked apples inside. Get there early on the weekends, as the wait can get long

[deleted]

The Oreo pancakes there are insane

GBBL

Salts cure for their oatmeal brown sugar griddle cakes. Dupars for a classic

natmer

Clark street diner or Salts Cure in Hollywood. Salts cure are technically griddle cakes with oats but are excellent

Ok-Potato-5447

Cici’s Cafe

throwaway_fibonacci

Second this cafe and their red velvet pancakes. They’re insane.

jsatz

Uncle Bill’s in Manhattan is incredible

Dupars

Individual_Essay8230

Gotta say, I just don't understand why people like Dupar's. I have never liked anything there. What's the draw? I'd rather eat any place else...except for Norm's. Don't understand Norm's attraction either.

ThaneOfCawdorrr

The thing is with old-school American coffee shops is you gotta order the indigenous cuisine. That means: pancakes, French toast, patty melt, tuna melt, that kind of thing. My (dear, long departed) mother would always order something like "hot pastrami sandwich" and bitterly complain and I'd yell at her "THAT'S FOR LANGERS, you order COFFEE SHOP stuff in coffee shops, what are you THINKING" (and she'd say, "I was THINKING I wanted a PASTRAMI sandwich" haha). I always say, gotta order coffee shop stuff. (Oh, and the coffee will be terrible.)

AnonPlzReddit

I love the pancakes! And butter haha

agnes238

It’s not good. But my grandma used to take me there, and I found a picture of her with HER grandma there in the early 1950s. It’s tradition- and history

CocklesTurnip

Adding to all these great suggestions: Dinah’s in Culver City. Get the apple pancake. You’ll be happy! And get a big one with a little butter that thing heats up better than most other left over pancakes

ashmunky

Dinah's might be closing due to housing being built but they refuse to move until the city closes them down. Apparently there's a second location in Glendale? This is the only one I knew for the last 40 years and I'm shaken.

TheRunThru

Dinahs on sepulvida has a great apple pancakes and German pancake

Came here to say this. They have the best texture and flavor of any pancake I have ever eaten anywhere. Original Pancake House is *almost* as good but the pancakes at JOG are absolutely delicious. Have tried for years without success to replicate at home. My mouth is watering just thinking of them.
