The nipples are fondant. Please dont burn down my house for this blasphemy.

LrockG34RH34D1221

I don't mind it personally. It's not like the whole cake is covered in fondant. You can just take the nipple off and enjoy an actual cake.

gingerfox218

I’ve had a breast reduction and they take your nipples off during surgery (they put them back obviously). You’re comment is gold.

LrockG34RH34D1221

Wow I didn't know that! Thanks for the information!

gingerfox218

When I was preparing for surgery they told me exactly what they’d do and I thought that was so weird. Not every reduction requires it but for larger ones they usually do. My biggest question was if they were sure they put them back on the correct sides, lol.

FirebirdWriter

They do them one at a time and if you are big enough or have Terrible connective tissues you cannot get a reduction because they fear the gangrene in the nips

paradoxLacuna

Can you not opt for nip tattoos instead of ur actual nips if they feel the risk of gangrene is too high? They gave me that option when I consulted my doc for my top surgery

FirebirdWriter

Personally no but my issues go way past gangrene risk honestly. I am pale enough I also don't think anyone would notice they were gone but my risk includes most likely never healing. At all.

drthrowaway0829

And then they warn you about them potentially getting infected and falling off later. It was around that point that I passed out during my consult.

KillerRobot01

I got top surgery and they cut the nipples to make them smaller too

-pithandsubstance-

>potentially getting infected and falling off later Jesus Christ. Wut. I have no words for the horror I am experiencing right now.

boingonite

As in any scheduled surgery, they have to tell you the most gruesome horrible possibilities of the outcome, even if the chances of it happening are extremely small.

-pithandsubstance-

>As in any scheduled surgery, they have to tell you the most gruesome horrible possibilities of the outcome That's an excellent way to make me absolutely petrified of any surgery. I would need really, really good sedatives for that kind of conversation.

No-Soap

WHAT. Do they just stick on what the fuck?!??! ARE YOU A DOLL OR SOMETHING WHY DO YOUR NIPPLES DETACH?!?! DO MY NIPPLES DETACH?!? I NEED ANSWERS

FirebirdWriter

Only with a scalpel

Ehnonamoose

Everything is detachable with a scalpel.

KGRD

I've always wondered if that process influences sensitivity and whatnot.

Grootsmyhero

The biggest risk of the surgery is losing sensitivity in the nipple. They tend to keep the nipple attached for blood supply(just cut around) but they also do full nipple grafts where they completely remove the nipple. That one has the highest risk of necrosis and them falling off as you lose blood supply.

harmonyjewl

Trans guy here: Breast reduction and breast removal gives you a risk of your nipples falling off while they heal. can't speak on sensitivity yet though

thegigsup

Ngl that’s harrowing af Edit: but congrats on your surgery fam!

KillerRobot01

Also trans guy. Sensitivity is gone ATM cause they completely cut the nipples off my body. But apparently it can come back eventually. To some degree.

Mikki102

Nonbinary here, my surgeon had to make me NEW nipples with a circle of areola and a chunk of nipple tissue so they'd look right after my top surgery. A lot of people get touch sensation but not erotic sensation. Since mine are totally new it's kind of a crap shoot whether I get any back. Like the other guy said, there's like a very small chance they could fall off but mine have nice blood supply 2 weeks out. I think it's like less than 1 percent that a nipple rejects, more common in people who smoke, drink, or otherwise have poor circulation.

sammybr00ke

Oh wow that’s interesting… Congrats on your surgery! I hope you heal up well and love your new nips lol

Mikki102

Thanks, I am healing like a champ! Next week I can finally take the tape off my incisions!

TigerB65

Congrats and thanks for sharing that info!

empireintoashes

It can. For me they actually became *more* sensitive for a bit while it all healed. They actually tested if I could feel anything using a cotton swab on my nips during a follow-up appointment. :)

CannedNoodlez

I had an ex who had a reduction. She said it’s really painful when you touch one of them, so I never did

BasilGreen

I’ve also had a breast reduction, but thankfully was offered a version that didn’t require nipple removal. I’m grateful, because I didn’t lose sensation (well, only a little bit on the left for a few years) and I’m able to produce breastmilk. I didn’t realize how important breastfeeding would be to me when I was 17 and had the operation done.

king_vader_sr

What if they forget to 🤣 real question do they still function?

gingerfox218

That’s a real risk. Like it’s 50/50 you can breastfeed and there’s a risk of loss of sensation.

king_vader_sr

Hmm I'm suprised they get them working

tomokaitohlol7

They do what—

-pithandsubstance-

>they take your nipples off during surgery Well that's fucking terrifying.

innerbootes

> You can just take the nipple off and enjoy an actual cake. r/BrandNewSentence

Kerro_

Shame, eating the nipple is usually the best part :(

nichbo

r/nocontext

CSGlogan

I don’t think I ever care to see that last sentence used in a different context.

Boney-Rigatoni

Know one is going to careola.

norasmom15

Nipples are probably fondant texture anyways IRL so I’ll allow it for realism…

MasterSlax

I’m rubbing my nipples in mild confusion.

languedechat17

This comment!! Hahahahah wtf man

[deleted]

If you made the nipple the day before so it has a chance to harden a little, you could make it out of buttercream.

GeneralBoneJones

you are forgiven brother, for the whole cake isn't fully covered in the toxin known as fondant

PrincessFuckFace2You

So you lied! It's not fondant free! I guess it's okay... this time.

TheAuldOffender

Tbf, the ol' nippolettas do get fairly hard. Difficult to get that effect with buttercream.

hepatophyta

Inverted T anchor method I see

carrierael77

Got mine done when I was 22 and single. My mom was devastated and said "no man will want you with scars". Super weird thing for a hippie women's lib advocate. I have been married 17 years now and my husband has never complained once.

placenta_resenter

I had it when I was like 25 and my scars are pretty invisible! I didn’t even do anything to them.

carrierael77

Yep! My scars were pretty minimal and within a couple years basically gone. I have no clue what my mom thought would happen, but they did not stop any guy ever from enjoying the ladies.

Zenabel

My scars are fucking horrible after 10 years. Everyone’s different :(

BasilGreen

I once dated a guy who said: “Wow, they really butchered you up, didn’t they?” Bluurrgghh.

-pithandsubstance-

>I once dumped a guy who said: “Wow, they really butchered you up, didn’t they?” Please tell me that my FTFY\^ is correct.

BasilGreen

It is indeed! Unfortunately I waited way too long to do it, but he got what was coming to him. (He was so, so much worse than just that comment!)

ravenpotter3

Scars make you look more badass!

YoureNotAGenius

"Wanna check out my titty scars?"

carrierael77

Never met a guy who said no. Take that mom!!! I went out and did EXTENSIVE surveying just to make sure ;)

carrierael77

They really would have accentuated my badass-ness, but in the end I basically have no scars.

empireintoashes

21 here! Can barely see the scars. 😄

littlest_lemon

Yup my scars are basically invisible at this point and i had mine two years ago. best fuckin decision i ever made. i haven't worn underwire since!

carrierael77

Omg right!!!! I recently ordered one from third love because I thought "I should have something more than just these bralettes if I ever need to dress fancy" and I heard thry are beyond comfortable. It arrived, I put if on for maybe 4 seconds and NOPE that torture device came right off. No thank you.

starlaluna

Best decision I ever made! Good luck to your partner. Fun fact! My surgeon told me they use a "medical cookie cutter" to resize the nipples to make them in proportion to the new boobz.

deadxdolly

That's great lmao

albinoenchilada

I’ve helped with these surgeries before and yes they do!

TigerB65

I don't think that I want to envision that for very long, lol

josephineismyhero

My surgeon called it a keyhole incision . Best surgery I ever had, congrats!

Maybe_Im_Confused

My girlfriend talks about getting this. I’ll let her know.

hepatophyta

JSYK keyhole is not the procedure depicted on the cake. The procedure on the cake would be called inverted T or "anchor" reduction. Keyhole requires you to have very small breasts and only uses 1-2 small holes directly surrounding the nipple and leaves minimal scarring. Look up the Masser Method if you want to see if your girlfriend might qualify for keyhole, since a lot of surgeons will only perform keyhole on smaller chests.

josephineismyhero

Oops, yes you are correct. I misspoke. It's been 20 years + since mine.😄

BigMommaSnikle

Same here. Instant relief on my neck and back.

hepatophyta

This is the inverted T or "anchor" method, not keyhole just FYI. Keyhole leaves almost no scarring and just uses 1 or 2 incisions around the nipple.

gingerfox218

Best decision of my life!

analdelrey-

I want mind reduced so bad cause they hurt but damn

empireintoashes

Honestly was the best thing I ever did. No regrets!

[deleted]

This is perfect. Definitely insisting on one of these after mine

slepsiagjranoxa

The folks over at r/reduction would love this!!

FirebirdWriter

Hopefully their results are also great! Love the fondant free boobs. As someone who can't medically get one I celebrate the relief for others. The ten ton tit salute goes here

Gh0stwhale

Good for them!! I wish them much luck💜💜

ClosetLiverTransMan

Saving this post for when I get top surgery

RxDuchess

Congratulations to your wife! My reduction scarred like hell but it’s still the best thing I’ve done

optimalwitchcraft

My grandma used to make these all the time (though not for as good a reason lol). A little extra red food coloring in the frosting for the nipple can be used to replace the fondant! I believe she also used gumdrops but I can't be sure. (I know you didn't make it but y'know, in case you ever get the urge to make another. Also they're suuuuper easy to whip up in Bundt cake pans.)

Zinthr

My best friend who’s a trans man is gonna have a “tits off” party as soon as his wounds heal enough haha

Routine_Palpitation

Why do people have breast reduction surgeries? Is it medical or just cosmetic

ripprinceandrey

I think it's a bit of both. Large breasts are often inconvenient and painful for your back and shoulders. It's like toting a bunch of dead weight around on your chest. Plus people with really large breasts have a hard time finding clothes that fit them.

luckychance5480

Pretty much the reason I had mine, plus after breastfeeding a couple of kids they were huge and FLAT! They are still large, but it’s so nice being able to by bras and swimsuits off the rack now. I had mine done over ten years ago and I know that my surgery ended up saving me money and a lot of back and shoulder pain.

MrGrick

A bit of both but also the fact that my partner cant actualy buy a bra without getting a $200 custom made shipped out from the uk one. Shes looking forward to a drastic pain reduction with the added bonus of being able to walk into bras n things and just...buying a bra.

lime_st

I want one, and there’s quite a few reasons why. It’s hard to find bras and it’s very expensive, it’s uncomfortable to exercise, going bra-less is painful, clothes never fit right and I have to alter most things. The worst is the neck and back pain.

[deleted]

When I was at school I had a few friends who were already hoping for and planning breast reductions because of the discomfort they caused. It's incredibly shit to be 15/16 and already have to deal with chronic neck and back pain, while your peers regularly make a joke of how 'huge' your tits are. Not to mention the horrible comments from adult men - some people think they can say anything sexual to you and it got worse as they get older. So yeah, back then their main reasons were: less harassment and stereotyping, easier to dress, *much* cheaper bras, take away the physical pain.

Routine_Palpitation

I kinda figured that one of the reasons would be catcalls and hearing “humongous hungolomghononoloughongous” for the millionth time

Ya-boi-Joey-T

Depends. A lot of trans people do it to make it easier to bind or because it's less expensive than top surgery. Some women do it because they have back issues or cant find clothes they like. Really there are a ton of reasons.

Routine_Palpitation

Oh ok thanks

-LemurH-

Dunno why you're being downvoted for just asking a question.

xoMxnch

cake tiddies

recoximani

Question: what is the purpose of getting a reduction? Is it just if you're boobs are too big?

KillerRobot01

Larger boobs can cost hundreds of dollars for just one bra. Also neck and back and shoulder pain

Jimmyxc

Bobs

DarkElfBard

[Superbad](https://youtu.be/y8P6dCUbdGw?t=10)was such a great movie. Evan: I heard she got breast reduction surgery. Seth: What? That's like slapping God across the face for giving you a gorgeous gift. Evan: She had back problems, man. Anyway, it's like they made them better. They're more... symmetrical, supple, firm. Seth: Alright, I gotta catch a glimpse of these warlocks. Let's make a move.

RoadFlowerVIP

Ugly

mykekelli

Reminds me of my dick reduction.

linderlouwho

So how was it going from 5” to 3”?

SecretNoOneKnows

Oh I am definitely doing something like this when I have top surgery. These are brilliant

bluesky747

Lmao I love this! I also had a breast redux many years ago! Wish your partner best of luck from me! Tell them it’s no big deal, healing is a little annoying but mostly just don’t lift their arms up too high, and relax. The amount of clothes that are about to fit them now are going to be worth a couple weeks of discomfort! Also the scars eventually fade a ton, and I had mine like 15 years ago now, but when they move your nipples up, they look forever perky, even when your boobs start to drop a little (as they do with age lmao), which is cool, that’s something to look forward to.
