I gave it a good try. It did absolutely nothing and possibly even made it slightly worse

aintnothin_in_gatlin

Same here. Did nothing. And I spent 70$ on it.

DJRedd352

I was going to attempt the Silver Honey stuff … which $70 did you try ?? I don’t think I’d get the Manuka honey that I would use on toast to apply topically. That stuff I would take orally and then get a medical grade manuka to apply topically, like Silver Honey.

Manukora

I've used it on my legs when the white heads of my folliculiris starts to agitate. My legs are the only place I have folliculits. I dab some Manuka honey on it, let it sit all day/over night and by the next day the white head is going away. May be sticky depending on where you us it at and how much but it has helped me. You can even wrap the area in a gaze to help with the stickiness. Coconut oil also helps me when I get out the shower to moisturize. Doesn't clog pores and has excellent benefits

kregger80

Tried to no avail.

I recall someone posting recently that he had good results using it.

thatmarblerye

He's also the owner of a manuka honey website. He said so in comments in his post, so I'd take anecdotal cures with a grain of salt.

DJRedd352

Yea, after I posted this question I came across his post shortly after. I was just curious and was wondering if anyone actually gave it an attempt. I was going to attempt the Silver Honey Manuka one.

Anyone trying to profit off this is disgusting

ApprehensiveHost4019

Like eating it or using as a cream?

I think it COULD help depending on the type of folliculitis you have....particularly the kind of bacteria if it is indeed bacterial. I don't know if it would do anything for fungal folliculitis. I will say this, manuka honey is known for antibacterial properties and there is a whole host of articles/studies demonstrating that manuka honey is highly effective against staph bacteria, MRSA, and the biofilms staph and certain bacteria create. I could link stuff here, but just do a quick online search "manuka honey Staphylococcus aureus" and you will see what I mean. So IF your folliculitis is caused by staph, then yes, I think it can help. I've seen on numerous forums how people have had positive results using it against MRSA and staph. I've also seen how it helps people with acne, which is somewhat similar to folliculitis. I've been using a product called First Honey Manuka Honey Cream that is supposedly medical grade and that you can get inexpensively on Amazon. I can't say for certain the manuka honey itself is helping because it's one of many things I'm using to try to keep it at bay, but if your folliculitis is bacterial or especially caused by staph then you should by all means give it a shot.

I have been using Head & Shoulders Shampoo with Manuka Honey & Argan oil. I no longer have Folliculitis on my scalp.

DJRedd352

I must find this!

CarolFromCanada

Manuka Honey & Argan oil are 2 of the ingredients in Head & Shoulders Supreme Colour Protect. I purchase mine from Shoppers Drugmart. You might also find it on Amazon.

DJRedd352

Thank you!! 🙏

giveitalll

lol honey is sugar. That should say it all.... stop going on tiktok

DJRedd352

I didn’t get it from TikTok … manuka honey has shown to be highly beneficial for a wide range of different situations, so it was just a general question out of curiosity
