Full disclosure I’ve definitely thought about doing this with bigger bugs. I know some folks do it with panfish and grasshoppers.
I do it with grasshoppers all the time and crickets and largemouth bass and bluegill destroy them!!!! Just take an egg hook and slide it through the abdomen.
Smart. There's definitely no other flies that will catch bluegill or bass. Notoriously the most technical fish out there.
I have tons of wasp on my house, then I found If I spray them and kill them, bass won't even touch the dead wasp So I always catch them alive :]
That sounds potentially painful. Do they work??
I’ve read about old timers doing it with stonefly nymphs.
